I definitely am leaning 6plus, but I need to get to a store and check it out. I work from home and travel a decent amount, but don't really ever walk around using my phone. The battery life and ability to watch movies on planes, use it as a mini-iPad mini at home seem to be my biggest factors. I use Bluetooth in the car and headphones at my desk, so I really don't put the phone to my ear all that often. I do carry it in my pocket and like to use a case (3 sons), so that is what I need to check out.
Exactly. I've yet to hear from anyone who got the 6+ and are now unhappy with the size. Of course, part of that is because they were already reasonable confident it would work for them before deciding on it.
I think you might be underestimating the amount of stuff you could do one-handed on the bigger phone. Using my Note, it's very rare that I can't do something one-handed, especially things that I'd normally be doing while walking or driving. Of course, you might use your phone significantly differently, so I could be wrong.I dunno.. I use my phone one handed a lot (driving, walking around town w/ coffee in hand, etc). That's simply not possible with the 6+. The way I see it... 80-90% of the time, the 6 is the better phone for me... 10-20% of the time, the 6+ is the better phone for me.
The performance boost of the 6 over the 6+ (due to the downsampling the processor is forced to to do to render the screen) is also a nice perk. However the battery life benefits of the 6+ have finally been quantified and are substantial.

I thought the iWatch was starting at $350? I'm not sure I'd call 57% of the iWatch price "comparatively close".
Obviously, people should just get what they want, but that sort of price difference is pretty significant.

Just got my two Spigen cases for my 6+ in the mail today that I had ordered on Amazon. One's a bumper with a clear back and the other is their "Neo hybrid metal". Both are very slimline, feel very quality, and provide a lot of needed grip for the slippery sides of this big beast!

good to hear, they were very inexpensive compared to buying in a store right now so I'm pleased.
another FYI from my amazon purchases - I hate plastic film screen protectors but love the glass ones - I have had this one on my phone for about 5 days now and it's perfect, don't know it's there - feels like the phone's real screen - and they have a lifetime warranty on it. Highly recommend!

So that 2nd one comes in 2 pieces? The "cover" and the "frame"? Not sure how I feel about this.
ETA: I do like the look of it, but the lack of bumper to protect the screen and the separate pieces I'm not happy with.

I would like the better battery and camera, but I already have an iPad mini. I want my phone to be a portable device that isn't cumbersome and provides me with access to communication and data. I don't watch entire movies on my phone. At most, I may watch 10-12 minute clips from John Oliver or Stewart or Rachel Maddow during lunch. Otherwise, the additional screen size isn't worth the trade offs in terms of portability. I'm reading emails while in the elevator, on the sidewalk on the way to lunch, at stop lights, etc.I dunno.. Obviously others draw a different line in the sand with regard to that tradeoff. I've been critical of Apple for years back when they were insisting that 3.5" screens were the right size. But just in terms of what I want from a phone, 4.7" seems to be the exact sweet spot for me.

It is two pieces but it is extremely tight when put on. The rubber portion does provide a bumper lip that should keep the screen easily protected. It really is a great case, I like it a lot more than the bumper one.

Been on the fence back and forth regarding the 6 and 6+ due to size (currently have the 5s). Been to the Apple Store about 8 times to touch, feel and play with the 2 phones. I originally ordered the 6+ during the presale and received it last Wednesday, but never opened it. Decided to keep the 6+ so I opened it tonight. Wow. After playing with it for 15 minutes, I don't know if I'll ever go back to a smaller screen. The difference is that drastic.
Any 5 or 5s users want a case and backup battery? Have both of these in great condition...$15 + shipping (should be about $5 or so)? The backup battery is bulky, but it will give you another 24-36 hours on your phone

I have the same backup battery and will vouch that it's bulky but something like triples your phone's life. If you're looking for a "out and about for a full day of heavy use" case, that'll do it.

As an avid runner, I was initially excited when I heard that this was a full blown watch, but I have to actually carry my phone with me for this thing to work? Pass. Even if that wasn't the case, my TomTom Runner Cardio does everything I want it to do and gives me no reason to chase after the iWatch.

Yeah, I don't think any of these watches hit the "athlete" (meaning someone actually running, biking, swimming, etc) market. Whether they hit the "fitness" (i.e. someone that wants to count their steps, etc.) is a different argument since I have no idea what those type of people want.
Until you get one of these that combines the "phone", GPS, and HR seamlessly, it won't interest the athlete for athletic purposes. Whether it's the TomTom or iWatch or some other current watch they all seem to tick 2 of those 3 boxes, but not all 3.

Probably just some apps. Doubt I'd use video. (Have 16gb ipad, too, with plenty of space left).Will have to see, since this is my 1st smartphone. I am a very light user of current cell, though expect that will increase now. Mainly just want this to have Internet access when I'm out. No plans to use it at home.

I am sure I'll find more things to do with the phone over time, but I don't see myself storing a ton of photos.So, I looked into the mobile share plans (with 4 phones and decent coverage - Verizon sucks in my cul-de-sac and I work from home) for AT&T and I do get screwed a bit. I kept my 2 year contract so I could get the good upgrade prices and it looks like in order to get the $25 off a month, I do have to do the Next plan with 4 phones.
That said, even with getting 2 new phones (6 - 64 and 6+ 128), the price per month with the Next payment for those two phones will be exactly the same as what I pay now. Not bad for no money out of pocket (the tax is about the same as the activation fees would be with the 2 year), especially considering we aren't getting two base phones. So, with trading in/selling my two 5s (not 5s's, 5 plural), it will actually be cheaper and I'll have the new phones. If I upgrade all 4 phones, then it gets to be more per month, but my wife is fine with her 5 and I don't care about my FIL. If he wants to upgrade, he can pay for it.
By the way, someone posted in here before that even after you are done paying that you don't own the phones and that is incorrect. If you pay all the payments, you own the phone and can sell it, etc. If you upgrade in the middle then you must trade it in, but that is also because you haven't paid for it all. I am getting the 64/128 because I won't need a new phone in a year.

I have a tough time with my 16 and if/when I get my 6+, movies will be much bigger. I drop movies off and on now when I travel and that is a PIA.

Can not stand reachability. Every time you select an item it goes back to full screen forcing you to double-tap again. Not really helpful. Just makes navigation that much harder.

That's really helpful, though I'm in NY Metro and it took several clicks into that green mass to find mine! What I did was enter my zip code into their web site for the model/carrier I wanted, which pulls up availability for all of the stores in the metro area at once, (Though you only see for one model at a time)

Thx, will keep this in mind. My interest in the Apple case is just if I want to leave the store with something today. I think that is the only case they are selling right now.
