+1 good posting!Awesome show fellas! Here's some stuff to think about:I'm delirious for Demaryius. Should I be? Does he hold at least potential for a WR2 value rest of way on a regular basis? Does Julius Thomas loom as a threat to Demaryius or help? Will Stafford's inconsistency cause those who own Megatron to see his value degrade over the next few weeks? With many leagues getting close to trade deadline in the next few weeks is Megatron a trade high guy? Thanks alot!
Hey Kenny, didn't get to this one so wanted to answer it here. I've got NO LOVE for T.O. (just like the NFL)Too many issues mentally and physically, too late in the year for him to REALLY make an impact for a fantasy team. By the time he gets up to speed could be too late if .... a BIG IF, a team signs him. Love all the guys you listed more than T.O.I have the same problem as you at QB Eli or Stafford??? I went with Eli in my main hybrid dynasty league. It's the league I care about the most and am defending champion. Von Miller is going to get to Stafford who will have limited mobility. Gameplan for Denver is to send the house at Stafford, plus Champ v Don Mega led to 3 catches 47 yards 0 TDs last time (2007) they locked horns. Mega was a rookie at the time, but Champ still playing at the top of his game.'Kenny Powers said:I have a feeling you might touch on this in the show anyway, but is Terrell Owens still a hold even though no teams seem interested in him at the moment? My leagues are deep, but its either TO and the end of my bench, or Little or SMoss/Decker depending on the league. In a bye week bench, should I be dropping TO right now or hold him over the other guys? Also, what is the wise thing to do with Stafford this week if you have a good backup? It looks like he will start after practicing with the 1st team today, but Im scared he re-aggravates the ankle and kills his value this week, while I could start Eli vs MIA with a great matchup and safer bet. Thanks!
1) I don't think so. Brown is best served as a slot receiver IMHO. Without Ward we'll get a glimpse of what the Steelers WR corps will look like in the near future. Sanders getting the call because he's a better blocker. Brown a GREAT slot receiver, quick twitch guy who has earned the trust of Big Ben by making clutch catches. 2) I actually like Ponder a little more than Beck this week. As everyone knows I'm not a Beck fan, but he could have a good day against a Bills defense that gives it up through the air. They're currently 30th against the pass with 10 passing TDs allowed. They are ballhawks as they have 12 picks on the year. Long-term the answer is Ponder as well. I have a feeling Shanahan could go back to Grossman if/when Beck struggles. The leash for Beck is much, much shorter than it was for Grossman. I don't trust Shanahan, but I trust Leslie Frazier...and Ponder!Fantasy playoff schedule goes like this:WAS 14 - NE, 15 - @NYG, 16 - MINMIN 14 - @DET, 15 - NO, 16 - @WAS2 Wk. 8 questions:1) If Emmanuel Sanders starts in Hines Ward's slot, does this put a damper on a big day for Antonio Brown? Or is Brown's ceiling unchanged?2) Who has the bigger week- Beck or Ponder? And do you like either to be an interesting play in a 2-QB league later in the year?

I'm right there with you man, and answered a similar question in my Denver Post column this week. Barkley is not on the level of Luck (nobody is) but his is much, much better than Jones as a pro prospect. I'm not going to throw 'pro ready' around because players are never truly ready for the NFL. However, he can drop back and read a defense at the same time. Jones plays in a gimmicky system that requires short throws and simple reads. OU's offense changes one route per play, most passing plays are lined up the same way (generally) and 3 of 4 WRs will run same route, one will change per play..that's it! It's super simplified, just like it was for Bradford. Barkley makes better decisions downfield than Jones, plus he doesn't break down mentally in the red zone the way that Jones does. When the field is cramped you see Jones forcing passes. Barkley will throw it away if he needs to. Jones presses when in the red zone (he has improved over the course of the year, scouts have noticed). I watch players under pressure to gauge what they can do because the NFL is all about playing under fire. Barkley stands strong in the pocket, has enough strength to break away from arm tackles, and has the ability to climb the ladder to escape pressure. Jones presses when he feels the rush and will force throws and generally gets careless with the football.Give me Barkley over Jones. Prepare for Barkley to get dinged for his size 6'1" but I love his toughness, football intelligence, athleticism, and leadership ability. BTW, I think 3 QBs go in the top 10...maybe top 5. I also think 5 total QBs go in the first-round (Ryan Tannehill my #4, Robert Griffin #5).Hey guys. Sig, you are the best weekly projector in the business. Cecil, you're my boy. If you were here I'd motorboat the hell out of you in a non wierd way. Sig, don't be jealous. In all seriousness, I have some football topics too. Why is Landry getting more love than Barkley lately. Barkley has all the tools and the success. I think he'll be the second best QB drafted next season. Assuming the Rams miss out on Luck do you think it's a smart move to take a Matt Barkley or Landry Jones and their cheaper contract and trade Bradford for a first and a NFL player? I believe in Bradford but I'm just as high or more on this years crop of QB's and the salary difference will be through the roof. Thought?
thanks for the insight there statgrubby....I would go with Hill over Hasselbeck (although it's close) Plus, it looks like Stafford is 80% chance to play.A qucik note:I am down here in San Diego and the rampant speculation is that Rivers is nursing an injury he won't admit to having. His accuaracy is way off and his throws lack zip. He got smoked a few times in the New England game and has not ben the same since. Something to think on....as well as this.....If Bradford does not play...which it looks like.....and for some reason Hill plays for Stafford...should we all play Hill over Hasselbeck? Why do I love this week...CAUSE FREEMAN is on a bye and i don't have to watch him SUCK!!!!
Julius Thomas, Kyle Rudolph, Ed Dickson all players that could emerge later in the year. We've seen enough flashes from Dickson, but I don't trust his QB to be consistent from week to week. Rudolph is very intriguing to me because of the spark Christian Ponder gave this offense/team in week 7. Shiancoe's injury may open the door for this athletic rookie to make plays. Thomas could still emerge towards the end of the season the same way Jimmy Graham did last year. The Graham comparison is accurate, but Thomas in more of a traditional offense under John Fox. I can never impress on paper or on the air just how raw Thomas is. He only played one year of college football and is still learning the nuances of the game. Everything that he's flashed in the preseason, training camp is just off of raw ability. The nice thing about him being raw is the fact that he has no preconceived notions or bad habits. He will be told to do something and he does it to the letter. Fast learner, great kid with enthusiasm to be great. Hopefully the high ankle sprain doesn't slow him down, and we should see him back on the field this week against the Lions.2 questions:- TE pickups for DEEP leagues - I've got Dallas Clark and nothing else at the position. The top guy out on the waiver wire is Ed Dickson and others that are pretty much even with Clark. Is Julius Thomas the best shot at getting someone who can play at a top-10 level the rest of the year, or are there other options that could pan out in the TE20 and up range the rest of the year?- Current trade opportunities - It seems like more than ever that it is impossible to pull off trades. Other coaches seem to overvalue overachievers while refusing to discount underperformers from where they were drafted. What tendencies do you see and how can sharks take advantage of those tendencies?Love the show - you're the reason I don't mind my commute!
I say it's specific gameplan. Gronk could have a big game against the Steelers this week. It's Bellichick's secret plan to frustrate fantasy ownersAgainst the Jets and Raiders, Gronk was used to block on a lot of passing downs and his fantasy numbers suffered because of it (5-46-0 total in week 4 and 5). Can we tie that to facing a 3-4 defense, Aaron Hernandez's availability, blitz pickup, ect..? Trend or specific game plan?
