One thing I've noticed in Redraft Leagues this year is that there is a group of second year receivers being drafted as WR3/4's who have the talent and situations to break out and greatly exceed that ADP. Torrey Smith, Greg Little, Titus Young, Denarius Moore, Vincent Brown, Doug Baldwin, Randall Cobb, and Leonard Hankerson all fit this description for me. When I seek out breakout candidates, I like to target guys with higher floors, so that even if they don't hit the way I'm hoping they will, I can still get some flex production out of them rather than simply wasting the roster spot. My question is: While all of these guys showed flashes of their ability last year, are there one or two guys who stand out to you as being likely to provide consistent fantasy production throughout this upcoming season (as a WR3 or flex option)?

Thanks a lot guys!

Two questions actually, feel free to answer either (or both!)1. Would love to hear some of your guys' favorite Fantasy Team Names that you've either used or seen over the past few years. Feel free to apologize to Joe in advance. 2. List the players you absolutely do not see yourself ever drafting for this year and why. Specifically, players who you feel are going to see a huge downswing in their production for whatever reason (age, opportunity, injury, etc). Thanks guys!

A lot of talk this year about lack of RBs. Also a lot of talk about Gronk/Graham. I would like to hear your thoughts on taking RBs early and often and waiting on TE. I am seeing guys like Gonzalez, Heath Miller, Rudolph fall a very long way in Mock drafts and while they may not put up Gronk/Graham like numbers, they could end up in top 10. Any other TEs you like in later rounds?

Cullencoyote, that's an awesome question. Last pre-season, I did an article called "High Floors or Low Ceilings" that we published here on the site. I plan to do it again this year, so seeing what the guys say about these players will help with that effort. I think the true answer to the question posed in the article's title is "BOTH." Utilizing a mix of safe players AND risky players will not only diversify your team and increase your chances to be the league's best team but will also throw off high-skill opponents who try to spot tendencies on-the-fly during drafts.

Love the show guys, Friday morning is the most enjoyable commute of the week thanks to the podcast!

I am in a Dynasty Auction League. Vick is my QB1. Assuming it would cost me the same price for both guys, would you prefer Romo or RG3 as a complement for this year and into the future. Thanks.

Talk to me about Jared Cook in Tennessee. I know Britt is sounded pretty iffy now a days with the recent info coming out about his knee (both knees). Everyone is bumping Nate Washington up the rankings and rightfully so. But my question is shouldn't Cook start getting a little more love, as he is on the verge of a breakout season plus he may have increased targets with the Britt news?

Maybe in that Fred Davis, Gresham, or even Witten range?

Cecil, it is pronounced Luh-Vatch Beadsman. It's from a David Foster Wallace book.

My question this week is pretty simple. What is Demaryius Thomas going to be this year? Ceiling? Floor? Median? I took him at the end of the 3rd round in my 12 team non-ppr league as my WR1 and feel very confident. I think his physical abilities are 10 times what Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne had, but I also acknowledge that he is a huge risk. If he doesn't learn the route tree and the audibles, he will be forgotten in that offense. What do you see as his most likely outcome?

Edit: If you have time, depending on how late it is in the show, please talk about Fred Davis. Haven't heard much of him this offseason, would like to know what I'm looking at.

The Darren McFadden thread has generated a pretty good buzz with various opinions. Please touch one a few things:

-Lis Franc injury how has this injury affected other athletes...how long is recorvery...etc.

-Being in a Zone Blocking scheme again, what's your take on him performing in this system if healthy

-How much better can he be with Carson Palmer at QB

-If you knew he'd play a full 16 where would you rank him?

-Is it right to assume he won't play a full 16?

-No real back-up, a good or bad thing?

Love the show and thanks for everything!

**If I missed anything please add**

I am interested in the prevailing thought among your distinguished panel of two WR's trying to return from injury: Sidney Rice and Steve Smith (StL)

I would like to know your guys opinion on were is the best place to draft this year in a 12 team ppr redraft league. And were do you see the worst spot in this years draft

Thanks for the hard work

Last night, we did another FBG Staff Mock. It was nonPPR, 6 pt Pass TDs. Some interesting trends developed that I think are worth sharing with the listeners.

Despite many experts' insistence that the RB position severely lacks depth and should be attacked in one or both of the first two rounds, the draft had some great RB value available in the middle rounds. For example:

Player - Round / Pick - ADP

Marshawn Lynch - 4.01 / 37 - ADP 15 (I think we know why this happened, but couldn't that be considered TOO low?)

Fred Jackson - 5.03 / 51 - ADP 34

Ahmad Bradshaw - 5.05 / 53 - ADP 35

Reggie Bush - 5.12 / 60 - ADP 49

Darren Sproles - 6.07 / 67 - ADP 38 (even in non-PPR)

Isaac Redman - 7.06 / 78 - ADP 67

Willis McGahee - 7.12 / 84 - ADP 71

The questions:

1) Two of these picks (Sproles and Redman) were mine, despite already having Mathews and Forte on my roster with just two WRs and zero TEs. Knowing that info, I'd be interested to hear if you still viewed these as good picks when factoring in roster composition.

2) Does seeing this information make you think RB provides a bit more value than many seem to be suggesting?

3) Do you think this draft was a total aberration - something that won't happen often enough to warrant this many questions?

If the NFL is truly a pass first league now, should we expect RB injuries to go down and WR injuries to go up compared to what they have been in the past?

Hi Guys. Would you talk a bit about your “tiering” processes, and how you use them during your drafts? Here are a few general questions that I wonder about.

1. How do you set up your tiers? By projected points and then subjective “this is how I feel”?

2. How do you use them during your drafts, especially when you are comparing two tiers, such as your 2nd WR tier and your 2nd RB tier? I assume that since RBs are scarcer this year, that the RB would trump the WRs?

3. Do you ever “cross position” your tiers? In other words, would you ever make your 2nd tier a composite of your QBs, RBs, and WRs, or maybe your 3rd tier consisting of QB, RBs, WRs and TEs? Or is that completely missing the point on tiers?

I’m just trying to get smarter on tiers, so if you feel this is a worthwhile topic for your general audience, I’d love to hear you toss it around a bit. Thanks!

Hey Cec, Sigmund and Matt -

I'd love to hear your ideas about how to respond to Marshawn Lynch's DUI arrest - two scenarios:

1. If one owns Lynch in a dynasty/keeper league, who should one target in free agent auctions to hedge against the possible suspension?

2. If one owns Lynch in a redraft league, who should one target to pick up off the waiver wire? Should Lynch be removed from redraft draft boards until we know more about his level of sanction(s) from the league and/or the Seahaks?

An additional question - if Lynch's long term contract is voided due to the DUI situation, does he become a unrestricted free agent for 2013?

Thanks guys!

Greetings from Denmark! Love the show guys.

In my opinion QB is pretty deep this season, and I like the Quarterback by commitee strategy. Which late round QBs do you prefer when using this strategy this season and could you name a few sleepers at the position?

Could you guys touch on some ppr auction strategies in general and which one may be the best for this year? I'm thinking it might be best to go all in on the RB's due to some of the depth in other positions. Thanks

The auction for my most important league is this Saturday and I need CLARITY. It's a contract keeper league with up to 3-year contracts, so you have to be wary of signing older players at a price that is fair for just 2012. Would love your opinions on how I tier and rank the WRs that are available in the free agent auction (* by those I particularly like). And any advice on how to nominate these guys to get the price.

Love the show fellas, look foward to it every Friday am.

With the NFL being a pass first league do you think the smaller and quicker type of backs that can catch the ball out of the backfield will play a bigger role in their teams pass first offenses? Last year Darren Sproles was the perfect example as the Saints seemed to have utilized him to the best of his abilities. This year I'm wondering what you're thoughts are on if any of the following young backs, and any others that I may have missed, possibly having a Darren Sproles type of role and Darren Sproles type of season(ie low end RB1/high end RB2).

Shane Vereen

Quizz Rodgers

LaMichael James

Ronnie Hillman

Jahvid Best

CJ Spiller

Ryan Williams

Dexter McCluster

We all know Jamaal Charles has a very high ceiling. It seems to me he has a reasonably high floor despite his recovery concerns making him a great value this year. Do you agree? What are your general thoughts on him this season.

1. Cecil, you raved about Demariyus Thomas in your OTA reports in the shark pool. Can you share more in depth what you observed. what improvements do you see in his game from last season? Will he be able to become the technician at WR that Manning demands from his receivers, and run the full route tree. What in your opinion makes him a better WR then Eric Decker this season?

2. Are people missing the boat on the Patriots offense under Josh McDaniels? I see many people more then happy to copy, and paste the stats of Rob Grokowski and Aaron Hernandez from last year. Are people missing the boat that the Patriots have a new offensive coordinator who has little history of using his TE in his offense? in 2007 with the Pats the TE was not featured in the record breaking season, and the deep threat WR (Moss) was. When McDaniels went to the Broncos the TE again Was not a focal point, and the deep threat WR was the focal point (Llyod). Last Year with the Rams Kendricks was suppose to be featured and utilized in the pass game, and he was a disappointment. As far as my knowledge reaches, I do not see McDaniels ever featuring a tight end his offense, and now people want to project he will produce 2 top 3 TE? Are we not giving this fact enough attention? I am firm believer McDaniels will create around his weapons, but he will also rely on what he does know, and that seems robe featuring an athletic deep threat WR, not the TE position. Will Bellicheck be the main play caller and designer, making McDaniels influence minimal on the two stud TE. I guess my question with this in mind are we over projecting the totals for Gronk and Hernandez, and under estimating what LLyod can do this year in this offense ran by McDaniels.

would love to hear your feedback on this, thanks guys.

Hey guys, I've been listening all off season but tonight I plan on being an honest to God participant (Chat room, REACT!)

Is the league really changing to a "pass first offense" and does this truly influence the value of RB's compared to ten years ago? It seems to me that lots of passing still ultimately ends in red zone chances for running backs and receptions for running backs.

Hi Guys

I know you talk more about IDP than Team Defenses but leagues that do use Team Defense are still pretty common.

I liked the upgrades the Bengal's made this off season but I notice they ares till listed as a pretty low end team.

Could you guys talk a little more about the Bengals D and why it is either not that good or under rated?

Thanks

Hey guy love the show long time listener last 4 years.

Standard 10 team league 6 point for all TDs non ppr

I have the 6th pick top three RB and rodgers and Brady are going to be gone when I pick Ryan Matthews in the first like u all have have advised. My question is in the second who should I pick if they fall a TE graham or gronk or go with another RB like McFadden or Murray. Plus what QB should I target to platoon I was thinking Vick but will have to take him in the third or should I wait till the 4 or 5 and get a big Ben or manning any later and people start taking back up to hose ya. Thanks for all your help two time champ mainly cause I listen to every show u all make plus I subscribe to football guys last 7 years peace :)

Probably way too late, oh well.

Hey Guys, love the show.

Have some major heartburn this off-season.

Owner of LeShoure, Lynch, Dez, Dumervil, TJ Ward, Blackmon, feel like everytime I check twitter, the police blotter is unkind to me. (Also own, Larry Fitzgerald and Greg Jennings, so didn't hit the "character concern" tree on every branch down.)

1.) Not to question anyone's judgment, mine is not perfect, I don't understand why these young gentlemen, don't more utilize a driver service or bodyguard service, they would seem to have the assets and investment in their playing time and image that wanting to protect these things would be a priority. (?)

2.) From a dynasty strategy standpoint, is it time to start looking at making teams more "depthy" for a different reason then injury, ie suspension risk? Is it time to put more weight into handcuffing, provided clarity, upside and cost of handcuff is reasonable?

3.) Different spin, treating things as a stock market, is it as simple, as when I'm crying, I should be buying (buy low), when I'm yelling I should be selling (sell high.) In regards to this kind of news?

Hey guys,

I need some advice!

Last year I started very bad, 0-3. So I was able to dredge the waiver wire and make a lot of trades, all for draft picks. As a result, I have 12 of the top 52 picks in my upcoming 12 team PPR keeper league (3 keepers). 6 points per TD.

So how do I approach this draft?? This is a must win season, I have the cards stacked in my favor for sure. I have picks 2,3,15,23,26,31,38,41,47,50,52,74,112,120,145. My keepers are A.J.Green, Chris Johnson, Jimmy Graham. It's a 12 team, PPR, 18 players, QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/TE/Flex(TE-WR-RB)/Def/PK, 6 points TDs all around type of league. My last pick is in round 12.

Most likely A.Rodgers, R.Rice, MJD are off the board and a chance that McCoy is too. It's likely that Foster will the #1 pick. So with my #2 & 3 picks do I go Calvin/Brady-Brees (if the top 4 RBs are gone) and then get WR2 and RB2 with my 15 & 23 picks or if one of the RBs is available should I go RB/Brady-Brees and then get WRs with 15 & 23? Or (if the winds really blow my way) do I go Foster/Calvin and hope for P.Rivers in round 2?

I should have my starting lineup by the end of round 2 and then it's BPA from then on.

The top 5-6 QBs are always gone by the early 2nd round due to keepers and drafting, so it's a gamble if I don't get one early in the first. QBs rule is this league and everyone knows it.

I'm thinking to play if "safe" by avoiding players with serious injury risk unless they really REALLY fall far. I'm also considering taking a backup QB early to ensure I don't get screwed if Brady/Bress gets hurt.

You guys rock!
