Talk to me about the trends that you see happening in the NFL right now and how they affect fantasy football. For instance:

[*]The influx of talented TEs. Following the Patriots leads, teams are even going two-deep with quality TEs.

[*]Pass-first offenses. Everybody seems to copycat the latest SuperBowl winner. It seems there are fewer and fewer run-first teams out there.

[*]Poor offensive line play. Maybe my perception is wrong, but it seems that few teams have good offensive lines.

[*]Running-back-by-committee. This was all the rage a couple of years ago, but do you think this trend is now dying out?

[*]What else do you guys see?

(Cec, you don't have to read this part.) These are my comments on the above trends (you can agree or disagree):

[*]More quality TEs has upset the supply/demand balance and TEs are actually less valuable in fantasy football. Good TEs are available on waiver wires and the difference with the top tier TEs isn't that great compared to the next tier. At the same time, if you start a TE that gives you little production, that's a real killer because the chances are your opponent is scoring points there.

[*]More pass-first offenses give you a similar situation with QBs. Maybe the same thing with WRs, but the bigger stats aren't always being spread to more WRs (see Welker/Branch distribution last game), so that makes the good WRs more valuable.

[*]Offensive line play - There are some teams with good (or at least decent) skill-position players that are never getting started because of poor offensive line play (Philly, Dallas, NY Jets). On the other side of things, a team like Washington is getting surprising production because their offensive line is capable. It's more important than ever to pay attention to the offensive line.

[*]Things in RB-land are going back to more the way they were 5 years ago, where there is a big dropoff in the talent and if you don't own at least one (preferrably 2 or 3) of the RBs that are NOT sharing time, that hurts you. On the other hand, this "more valuable" trend is competing against the pass-first mentality that de-values the RBs.

Deep league, looking for hidden gems that may emerge in October. Can you comment on the following players, who you'd take a shot on for relevance by Halloween? Thx.

RB

Alex Green, Shane Vereen, Taiwan Jones

WR

Emmanuel Sanders, Arrelious Benn, Donald Jones

(non-ppr)

So I traded away Brandon Jacobs and Antonio Gates for Jonathan Stewart. I'm a Gronkowski owner, and I was really worried that I wouldn't get anything for Gates with the news on the injury front.

Did I make the right move?

What can I expect from Stewart going forward?

How's it going guys - can we have an honest assesment of Curtis Painter's game. I know that Draftguys did a profile on him a few years ago and the reviews were mostly positive from Sig and Cecil.

Have you guys gone 180 on Curtis over the past few years and feel like he really is a qb that is among the dumpster divers of the NFL or is there any potential here at all for him to jump start the Indy offence?

I'd like to hear from Wildman as well as I am sure he's gone over the tape. We thought Johnny Beck would be a top12 QB this year - any chance Painter could crack the top 15?

How many games does Kyle Orton have left at this rate. Are you hearing Tebow rumblings. For those of us that waiting and got Qbs like Kolb, Tebow could be a nice upgrade by the end of the season.

Will the Broncos actually throw down field to the leading receiver of 2010 against the 31st ranked pass defense, or will they be content running the ball for a 2 yard/carry average against the first ranked rush defense simply because that is the coach's "system"?

Thanks,

@mondo_tiki_man

At this point of the season, are you guys buying or selling on RBs that have had bad OL play in front of them, for example on guys like Chris Johnson and Rashard Mendenhall

Which WR has the better chance of being an every week starter during the second half of the season?

Antonio Brown

or

Titus Young

I would be interested to hear what your scouting notes on Donald Jones were prior to this season in order to get a look at how you assess his talent and progress over time in his career.

Good evening gents, top work as usual. Whither Michael Vick? What on earth can we expect from him this year and in future years?

Lets talk dynasty Rankings (which I wish FBG's would updated as the year goes on).

Who are the top 5 RB's going forward?

What's your opinion of Marques Colston? He's returning to the field this week, but when will he return to his usual every week starter status?

I am scranbling for a WR 3 like so many other owners who lost Britt. I currently picked up Dexter McCluster but there are other options like Victor Cruz, Lee Evans, Donald Jones, Titus Young, Mike Thomas , Malcolm Floyd, Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie and Jacoby Ford. These are Slim pickens but maybe there are some guys who you feel might sleeper/breakout type guys from this range of players. Thanks

Thanks for putting together the BEST fantasy football podcast in history! THAT's rock and roll!

I've heard Cecil (I think) express his disdain for Trent Dilfer as a broadcast "color" man. I personally feel that Dilfer delivers more insight than the average ex-jock. It got me thinking: which television announcers and analysts do you guys feel provide the most/best insight? On the flipside, which guys do you just want to mute?

I realize this has little to do with fantasy, but I respect your guys' opinions a lot and just wanted to get your take.

In 2011, does it seem like more fantasy owners are undervaluing early season performance - or overvaluing it? And how can we take advantage of this tendency to improve our teams in the early weeks of the season?

Hi guys. Please give your impressions of the Steelers going forward. It appears that drafting Ben was a bad bet, as was Mendenhall. Do you see them coming out of this funk, or should they be benched until things improve?

O Captains, my Captains!! Injuries have hit my dynasty league pretty hard this year, so what do you make of the following players dynasty value: Jamaal Charles, Kenny Britt, Dallas Clark. I'm concerned about Jamaal and Britt's ability to retain their quick twitch when they return and Clark isn't getting any younger (I have Jimmy Graham backing him up). Should I assume they won't return to elite level in future years and make some offers to see if I could get some first round picks for these players? Or should I wait it out and keep my eye on the long term?

How do you guys feel about Peyton Hillis going forward? His schedule really isn't going to do him any favors later in the year. Would you try to trade Hillis and what is he worth? Are you concerned about Hardesty starting to get more work? If you own Hillis do you need to own Hardesty and what is Hardesty worth?

Also Bloom mentioned that Jahvid Best looks to be wearing down already. If Best were to go down due to an injury, who would be the backup to own in Detriot and what type of value would say Jerome Harrison have if he became the number 1?

Thanks guys I just started listening this year and love the show.

Hey you guyyys,

He's been a historically slow starter, but how much time is it worth giving DeAngelo Williams befor flat out cutting him for bye week replacements, upstart wr's, etc. FWIW, the best rb's on my waiver wire are Marcel Reece, Stevan Ridley, Alfonso Smith, Delone Carter types of RB..

Thanks

Question for Dr. Jene: Last week we briefly discussed whether a distinction really existed between the Vick and Manningham concussions, and to what degree concussion tests are a sham if they are administered by the organization. You defended the Eagles medical staff, saying that other than the Stewart Bradley incident -- in which the Eagles permitted a clearly concussed Bradley to stumble around the field after a violent collision, an incident which led to the new concussion policies -- the Eagles staff enjoys a good reputation around the league. Maybe so, but to me and to many observers (including the announcers), Michael Vick looked like a quarterback who was still suffering from the effects of his concussion last Sunday.

Dr. Jene: Has your opinion of the Eagles medical staff changed? Do you think that the new NFL concussion policies are really working?

Thanks.
