The Audible - NFL Draft Talk LIVE! 4/30/09 (1 Viewer)

This is for all but mainly for Bloom. I would like to hear your thoughts on the better dynasty pick of LeSean McCoy or Donald Brown, are there team dynamics where you'd be higher on one or the other or just one guy no matter the situation, for example a team in contention right now vs. a team at least 2 years away from contention.

This is for everyone. Which RB's and WR's in the 4th-7th rounds are good dynasty pickups in a non-PPR league? I have some late 2nd and 3rd round draft picks and want to try get some guys that are less likely to be drafted early.

Might not make tonight's show, so I'll hang up and listen.

2 questions -

1) This year really seemed to highlight the difference between our boards vs team boards vs other team's boards(and no I'm not just talking about Mitchell in the second round). If value is relative (one man's trash is another's treasure) who surprised you by either a precipitous drop or a prodigious leap? (sorry for the big words Mex)

2) On a lighter note, if you gave this draft a musical theme, what would be your opening tune? Feel free to throw an artist, album or single out if that makes it easier.

I might go old school and drop some Blue Eyes with 'My Way' by Sinatra but perhaps that's a bit on the nose.

During Sirius's draft coverage Gil Brandt repeatedly brought up Beanie Wells' foot injury and implied it was the type of injury that could be very persistent. I mean he was obsessive about it. What do you know about this sesmoid bone injury and it's potential long term consequences. Evidently Peter King brought this up in his Monday Morning QB article as well.

I am really happy to see that the Saints renewed their lease and will be playing in New Orleans through 2025. The money the team and the state will be injecting into the Stadium and the surrounding properties will provide a much needed face-lift to that area. When I was there in 2008 I was surprised to see the condition of the former Hyatt with it's windows still blown out. The road to recovery continues.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Cecil is the root cause of Josh McDaniel's migraines?

Cecil I tried to listen off and on to WFAN's radio broadcast over the internet but I lost the audio at one point. Is this further proof of my technological ineptness or did a loss in transmission occur?

Finally, when things settle down for you Bloom I have confirmed Mansfield and Red Rocks tickets with likely second night JB as well, so we will have to figure something out. One stipulation, no pictures of either of us doing the noodle dance makes it to YOUTUBE.

Hey Guys,

Unless I missed it Seattle has done nothing to address their RB situation... Jones & Duckett? Yikes! Is there someone you see emerging from the mess in the Seahwaks backfield?

Also, assuming Hasslebeck passes a lot this season, I figure Houzh & Carlson will get the targets (and Branch when healthy), but what about when they go 3 wide receivers? Do you think their rookie pick starts over Burleson, and if so is he NFL ready to where we think of drafting him late in draft champions formats?

Thanks

ps- random draft observation: the Eagles stole Maclin from the rest of the NFL

NFL draft - Better in person with the screaming idiots or at home in comfort?

7 rounds is it really enough with all the excellent free agents available every year?

What are the chances Mr. Irrelevant makes an impact since he was a kicker?

Hey guys,

What a weekend....Cleveland threw in the monkey wrench, and added excitement to the whole first day.

Bloom, I see that you have Moreno and Crabtree going 1-2 in your top 100.

I'm sitting at 1:03 in one of my leagues and I have the makings of a good young team, but have serious need for another

good young rb. If Moreno and Crabtree go before my pick, how much of a drop off do you see between

3) Brown

4) Wells

5) McCoy?

If I get something good in return, how much would it cost me to move down a spot or two?

Do all of you have the RB's ranked as Bloom does?

#2 predraft you mentioned that Curry could be worth as high as pick 5-7, but now you've dropped him down to 13?

Is Seattle such a bad fit for him? Why the loss of love for Mr. Curry?

as always I'll be sitting back listenin w/ a tall glass of the Jack!!!!

Please talk a bit about Bernard Scott (5 arrests already), whether he has starter-level NFL talent, and, if he keeps his nose clean, whether he could at some point surpass mediocre Cedric Benson.

I'd rrrrrrrrrrreally appreciate it if you cruise right thru the guys we've talked about for months and get into the nitty gritty-the lesser known guys you covet in FF and/or will impact their team.

I drank the Koolaid Cecil, any thoughts on Peerman now?

What's wrong with Ramses Barden that he was a 3rd rounder?

(if I can stress one Q this is it)Each of you please- Chiefs fired their scouting staff. Ya hear that and with all the research and breakdowns you do, do you guys aspire to be an NFL scout? was their a "hmm maybe I should apply" thought? what do you hope your careers will lead to?

thanks

If Massaquoi can become more consistent catching the football on deep routes, he could surpass Robiske but at this point I think Robiske is the better player. M has more flashes of greatness.

I was on Greg Kellog's show Sunday night and he mentioned that a safety from Alabama said Massaquoi was the best receiver they faced in his career and it was no contest. But I also remember a KSU LB once say Rashun Woods was the best receiver they faced in the Big 12, so I take that stuff with a grain of salt.

yeah, coaches gameplans focusing so much on one guy can breed a "he's the best" thought in a young player before they even play against the guy

Great show as always. Thanks for answering my question, I usually don't get swayed to change my mind but i was on the fence leaning the other way and Bloom/Waldman you guys made very good points and i feel good about the decision change. In 3 years I'll either send you a hefty check or a dead rat.
