That looks awesome. So is the invading alien race known yet? A Skrull invasion would be pretty sweet.'Socrates11 said:

Ultron, Kang and Thanos are the main villains I think of for The Avengers.they used ultron as a big story line in the avengers cartoon, for what that is worthThe robots in the trailer makes me wonder if Ultron will be in it or the next movie.
Ultron was man made and this film has alien invaders. I could see an Ultron easter egg perhaps coming from a piece of tech coming from the aliens that leads to the creation of Ultron but I don't see him as a character in this one.But I really have no idea, just throwing stuff out there.FWIW Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, which was in Odin's vault in Thor, was on display at Comi-con 2010 that was also where they introduced the cast for the first time.they used ultron as a big story line in the avengers cartoon, for what that is worthThe robots in the trailer makes me wonder if Ultron will be in it or the next movie.

Is Pym in this one? If not it's kind of tough to do Ultron as a villian since Pym is the one who created it.Ultron was man made and this film has alien invaders. ThanosKang the ConquerorThis still looks awesome, but I am not too familiar with the Avengers. For example, I have no idea who these potential villains are you are talking about.
There are others like Skrulls and Doctor Doom, but those are mainstays of the Fantastic Four. Can't really have Ultron without Dr. Pym, so have to wait and see if he shows in a trailer. This still looks awesome, but I am not too familiar with the Avengers. Though you could briefly have Pym working on the robot and Loki makes it sentient. It isn't needed that Pym be involved as Giant Man, Ant Man or Yellow Jacket. Is Pym in this one? I don't think they introduce Ultron unless they divorce his creation from Hank Pym.That big ship at the end of the new trailer reminds me a little bit of a tech version of the Shi'ar living ships. That would be odd, though, since that is more of an X-Men storyline.Ultron was man made and this film has alien invaders. It doesn't look like Pym is in this one. He is another solid easter egg they could include (e.g. finding a piece of the alien tech) for sequels as it opens the door for Ultron. Is Pym in this one? Hawkeye giving the "long bow" to black widow???Interesting how the clip shows Iron Man fighting Thor and Thor fighting Cap but not the one we all want to see.

Well Iron Man versus Thor has been a good fight in the past. Fun to see it on screen. They may be saving Thor versus Hulk. Hard to do something like that justice as just an aside. I assume that's the fight you mean.Interesting how the clip shows Iron Man fighting Thor and Thor fighting Cap but not the one we all want to see.
Maybe it is Annihilus? He has ties to the Cosmic Cube, and has been fought off by the avengers while trying to invade. His forces would be armored and insect-like. It would make sense for Loki to try and dupe him to his own ends to get control over the cube.Thanos or Skrulls makes the most sense since they are the only connection between the Cosmic Cube and the Avengers. Loki also has involvement with the cube in the comics and movies.

Cosmic Cube is another important factor to consider. In one of his earlier appearances Thanos allied with aliens and launched a war against his home planet to obtain the Cube. Killed millions. Seems to fit the trailer.Loki wouldn't be as fearful of manipulating Annihilus than Thanos. Annihilus is more of a Fantastic Four villain though. I suppose if they wanted to have a tie-in for a FF4 reboot. I'd like to see this all heading towards Secret Wars.Maybe it is Annihilus? Not sure when Annihilus was involved w/the Cosmic Cube. I think he may be a little to far out there and I agree that he is much more of an FF villain. Annihilus is connected to Thanos they team up at one time. The rod/staff Loki is holding in the trailers could be Annihilus's Cosmic Control Rod. I could imagine Loki wanting that rod to be as or more powerful than Thanos. Loki taking that rod might be moving things too far way from the comic books though. Not sure when Annihilus was involved w/the Cosmic Cube. I remember the Annihilation Wave saga w/Thanos just not the Cube. Interesting point about Loki's cane but I am leaning to that being related to the Cube. It being Control Rod seems to granular to me, but who knows? The speculation is half the fun...okay maybe only a tenth of the fun...or a tenth of one percent.Annihilus is connected to Thanos they team up at one time. Also seems like Annihilus, Thanos, The Cosmic Cube, and the Cosmic Control Rod would be a lot to explain in one movie.I'd introduce Annihilus in a FF4 reboot.I remember the Annihilation Wave saga w/Thanos just not the Cube. I could see that. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the first Spiderman (although the biological web was dumb). the second was OK. The third really bad. But that doesn't mean you reboot something that just came out. Fantastic Four was pretty bad.Agreed about the first one, second one was decent (some like it more than the first though), third one was pretty awful. They rebooted The Hulk pretty quickly and did a decent job, I wouldn't complain if they did the same with the FF.I could see that. I didn't like either Hulk, but the second was better.I was ok with both FF4's.I'd like to see them do the Daredevil "Born Again" story line. The Daredevil director's cut was much better than the theatrical version.Ghost Rider, Electra and Punishers were the worst ones IMHO.Agreed about the first one, second one was decent (some like it more than the first though), third one was pretty awful. They rebooted The Hulk pretty quickly and did a decent job, I wouldn't complain if they did the same with the FF.I could see that. Yup, there's probably 40-50 characters that have been Avengers. Strange they worked well while the Defenders never lasted. Perhaps too much alike?Definitely my favorite comic book growing up - still have a bunch of them.I remember a different cast of characters in the Avengers though - Vision, Beast, Wonder ManLooking forward to seeing this flick.
Punisher War Zone kinda grew on me but Ghost Rider & Electra are just weak characters in any medium.FYII didn't like either Hulk, but the second was better.I was ok with both FF4's.Agreed about the first one, second one was decent (some like it more than the first though), third one was pretty awful. They rebooted The Hulk pretty quickly and did a decent job, I wouldn't complain if they did the same with the FF.I could see that. A sequel to the Daredevil film is in development, and is expected to use the "Born Again" storyline. Director Mark Steven Johnson showed interest in returning to direct with the "Born Again" storyline. Michael Clarke Duncan stated strong interest in reprising his role as the Kingpin. Johnson stated that villains Mr. Fear or The Owl are strong possibilities to appear for the sequel.[1] In March 2011, Variety reported that David Slade would direct a Daredevil reboot.[2] In June 2011, it was reported that Fringe writer Brad Caleb Kane would be adapting the "Born Again" storyline for the film.[3]

I'd think having Dr. Strange and the Silver Surfer, the Defenders would have a big advantage.great memories

Brings back great memories
Yeah, it's pretty tenuous. Doom used it in one of his bids for the cosmic cube, but that is more FF driven. The Avengers have fought Annihilus too, but iisn't a main villain by any stretch. The ship and a couple stills of the baddies felt a little insect-like, so I was trying to figure out who that could be.Not sure when Annihilus was involved w/the Cosmic Cube.
