Best Comedy movies of the 2020s? (2 Viewers)

I didn't see it but surprisingly everyone seemed to love the new Naked Gun and said it's genuinely a laugh a minute just like the old Airplane, Naked Gun movies.
My 80-year-old mom loved it :oldunsure: and said you wouldn't think Liam Neeson would nail it but he did.
He's kind of perfect because you think back to how silly the original were but Leslie Nielsen wasn't being silly, he was playing it totally serious- it's just the situations he found himself in that were ridiculous. But he always played the scenes like he was in a hard boiled cop show.

My wife and I watch a lot of TV together and the only movie on here I recognized and watched is The Banshees of Inisherin which is at best a dark comedy and not some laugh out loud traditional comedy.
I am surprised you have no at least heard of Everything Everywhere All At Once. It won 7 academy awards and created such a cool moment when Key won.

As fas I know, it's the only Oscar Best Picture winner to prominently feature a butt plug fight scene and two lesbians with hot dogs for hands but I haven't seen Calvalcade from 1932 yet.
im still not sure how it won

and it didn't just win, it cleaned up. Best Picture, Director, Actress, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Editing, Screenplay. One of the biggest winners of all time.

but it was back in the dark ages when you didn't have to watch the movie before you voted. I did like Short Round in it though.

I don't even think that "must watch all the nominees" rule has gone in place yet. I think it starts for this next Oscars.

Because The Academy is a farce.

I still loved EEAAO.
