Good episode (Sun 8/23). Ashley S. is really darn close to beautiful, not just pretty. Wow. So she gets that way when she gets drunk as seen in the hot tub, which may confirm my suspicions that she just concluded that Chris Soulless was an oaf early on and just snorked up all the free booze she could find, stayed perpetually loaded, and played a character. Good for her for hitting it off with the new guy, Non-Doosh Nick, who predates my watching days. (I guess he was on the season with the cute redhead where half the dudes were really vocal about wanting Emily there and were just tools; hopefully he wasn't one of them, but I hear she's happily married now to the guy she met on the show.)

Ashley I. with the line of the night about Chris' "paper-thin lips." :lmao: Awesome. However, no need to call Kaitlyn or whoever was pretending to be Kaitlyn; I'm over her and anyone pretending to be her. Second-best line of the night from CH: "The best thing I can do is get of your way." Indeed. Best. Paycheck. Ever.

Jared is just a worm.

Clare with an unexpectedly quiet exit. She's done with BIP, we learn, and was frustrated not to be the Bachelorette. Yes, I think she would have been more interesting than Andrea Dorfman. Perhaps she'll date in the real world now and sift through the thousands of guys she can probably land without even trying.

Mikey comes back for Juelia. Awww.

Jade. Whew. What a babe.

So Samantha turns out to be just as big a skeeze as Joe. She really creeps me out. They're made for each other.

Yeah I was really happy to see Clare leave. And annoyed that Juelia came back, bringing the meathead toolbox with her. Kind of pathetic to see how desperate those two are. It's a rare situation where it seems like they could both do better.

Yeah I guess I just missed the earlier connection that juelia and Mikey t had...
I think he threw her a hail mary because he knew he was getting ####canned, and she wasn't interested. So it's the classic beginning to many love stories we've all heard through the years.

Samantha is easily the craziest, vindictive and most likely person on that set to commit murder of a spouse

She lacks any sympathy in her eyes when she lies. She just laughs her nervous/but im sooooo sexy laugh (which really, she isnt... she's all body and a face of smashed worms). She has NO issue with flat out bull####ting to people's faces and seemingly, gets away with it more often than not.

The way the "Crew" kind of accepted her again and left Joe out to dry is 100% the reason these people are on a show like this... It's unbelievable.

Is Joe a #####? Yes. But a harmless ##### who lacks confidence to the point of cringeworthiness.

Sam on the other hand? She knows there will always be another **** in her face no matter what she does, or where she goes... And she has no problem with it. She seems the type too incapable of love to ever find someone and stick with them.

I know people like this. Which is what draws me in so deep.

-------------

I mean.... "ya, we talked, texted, every day for 2 months...." "no we didnt, we never talked, I wouldnt lie to you guys right to your face... as a human being"

He's standing right next to you and you're calling him a liar as he tells the "truth" about your relationship, ad stupid Joe, blinding by the snatch and confidence level 0, let's it happen...

But again... the way the group ate it up and still made Joe the bad guy after she bailed on him... Well... that's why these numbskulls are in paradise and not in their home with a significant other.

I just noticed that thing on Tenley's face and now can't stop looking at every time I see her. Her teeth aren't good either.

I admit that I don't watch closely, but why did Samantha turn on Joe? All I got was that she heard some bad things about him? There didn't seem to be anything new that had happened. Is it really that the scriptwriters are she is just bored with him already (who wouldn't be) and ready to move on to Nick?

I'd think she's evil, but she seems too vacuous actually to be able to muster true evil.

The way I took it: one part Joe is possibly a horrible person, she jumped into it way too quickly, and another dude is into her,

and,

one part Joe had the stink of desperation that day and followed her around like a puppy dog.

OK, that all makes sense.

Samantha had arrangements with ANOTHER guy who just entered the house.

That's what this whole thing is about. She played 2 dudes (at least) before entering paradise, to make sure her seat was kept warm and she had at least one option to go deep with.

She's without a shadow of a doubt, the most evil and vindictive person in the house. The majority of them are just clueless knuckleheads. She's truly cruel

At first I thought I had never seen Nick before because he was on an old season before I ever watched the show. Then I remembered him. He was the winner of Bachelor Pad about 2-3 years ago when he screwed over that Rachel chick and kept all the $$$ at the end.

LMAO at words like "evil" being thrown around in a thread about a vapid and probably scripted reality show.
the show is definitely scripted to a pretty large degree.

but it's not too difficult to peg out ppl who have a truly ugly personality
Yes, hit fast forward and pause anywhere imo. :lmao: They're all pretty dumb, mostly narcissistic and self-centered. Samantha looks worse to us now because she happens to resemble Elvira.

Also...do ANY of these people have jobs? What in the world does Nick get out of flying out to LA for 25 seconds of bull#### screen time like that? Is he just that big of an attention whore?

I think that joke didn't work like Harrison thought it would. No one in the country thought Nick would be the next bachelor. Not even after seeing him on the couch.

And yeah, I think Nick is just an attention whore and his 15 minutes are up.

My wife got really pissed and vowed never to watch the show again.

Wow, the chemistry between Mikey and Juelia just leaps off the screen.
Juelia comes on the talking show two weeks in a row whining about how Joe treated her and she doesn't want any woman treated that way, yada yada. And she's doing the same thing to poor Mikey. She clearly isn't interested in him. Maybe she's just another attention whore like Nick.

"But I'm a widow, and I have a child!" "Just let me do one more interview, please."

oops.. My wife immediately said "yeah, right. He's the next bachelor like I'll be the next bachelorette." I got excited and started trying to think of some cool schtick she could use on the show.

Thanks to Howard Stern I started watching this a couple of a weeks ago. Having never watched any of these before I had no idea what to expect. I had no idea these women were such total train wrecks. Have there been any normal women on these shows?

any normal with those looks wouldve been locked up and chained to a stay at home career before they saw the age of 22

Joe needs to grow a pair. Chasing Samantha around isn't helping his image at all. "You're a great conversator..." ugh enough with the "I got texts" thing as well. Dummy should of been putting the moves on Ashley I. Show is the best trainwreck going right now.

No kidding. She's about ready to straddle a fence post at this point. Even Jorge's got a shot with her.

The "I got texts" thing is dumb. Everyone believes you, Joe. It's not the smoking gun you think it is. No one cares and she's just not into you anymore. Ashley I is just sitting there ripe for the picking and all he can talk to her about is "you think Samantha will talk to me?"

I have to ask - why do you think that? I was actually impressed with him and how he handled the Ashley I. thing. Let's consider this....

First, she jumped on him from the get-go, and he clearly had other interests. He reluctantly agreed to go out with her, and likely missed out on Jade in the process.

Next, he had interests in Claire - this hurt Ashley I's feelings (not hard to do)...This might have been his most "jerky" move, but even then, this was when they were all feeling each other out, and he never told Ashely I. that he was into her.

Then, he dumped Claire. He was straight up with her and told her.

Then, he decided to give it a shot with Ashely I.

He ultimately told her that it wouldn't work...but he did it AFTER giving her his rose, and on a week where the girls had the power. To me, he handled that as best he could. He told her he just didn't feel the connection. He gave her his rose anyway so she had a chance to stick around. He told her on a week where it might mean he goes home because of it.

I feel like he did everything he could to go easy on her. Of course that girl has the emotional stability of a 14 year old girl.

Joe is basically making himself look like one of the saddest characters ever on the show. He comes in and becomes the biggest "vill" in recent memory. He seems to lavish in it and boast about how he's got the girl everyone wants. Fast forward, and he's a groveling moron basically pouting because she left him.

Agree 100% re. Ashley I. She basically set him up to just ask her out, and instead he asked her for advice on Samantha. I'm not sure which move was dumber - not making a move on Ashley I. or asking Ashely I. for advice.

That said, I hope Samantha is exposed for the nasty, shallow human she is. She's clearly all about attention. She wants guys to fawn over her, and once she has them, she has no interest in them. Joe's biggest mistake was his conversation about her being too good for him. Once he said that she was planning her jump. Somebody is going to throw it all in Samantha's face. It won't be the low-wattage bulb Joe, but somebody is going to do it.

My immediate thought when he was talking to her was "why are you asking her for dating advice. She is a social moron!"

Dan seemed like one of the more together, intelligent guys there (yeah, not saying much). Then he falls under Samantha's spell while talking about how he is a good judge of character. And he says they are one of the two couples there with a chance to continue after the show when she hasn't shown any interest in him. They aren't even a couple. He's somehow managed to look like the more clueless one from his original pairing with Ashley S.

Yeah, that was weird ####. He had seemed "normal" before that. What kind of voodoo is she using on these guys?

Good analysis. More an appearance thing, I think. Dude sorta creeps me out.

My guess is that the format backfired on the producers a bit this season in terms of what they intended. Two seemingly lasting couples (Jade-Tanner/Carly-Kirk) hit it off immediately. Then a third was formed soon after (Tenley-Joshua). Since the breeders in ABC production maintain the "paradise" population at a mean of about 7 or 8 potential couples, that reduced a lot of their opportunities for drama. They milked the Juelia thing for a while, and now that seems settled. So they only had a few slots left, leading to a fairly meh episode tonight. Will Amber choose Dan, or Justin, who sweats like he just got out of the shower?????? (In fairness it does look mega-mega-humid there, particularly since some rains from that offshore typhoon finally got there "tonight.") Nice girl, but yawn, boring. That leaves Cruella de Ville (who is just not attractive, period, personality or not) and her nonsense. So I imagine TPTB gave Dan a little nudge/hard shove/paycheck-related threat to shake things up.

On the other side of the coin from Morticia, consensus in this household is that Tenley is one of those gals who is X amount of attractive, but X+100 amount of attractive when you factor in her personality and can see her move around and how she carries herself. The Anna Kendrick Principle. She was adorable in the market and at the restaurant.

The biggest disappointments were that Joe did not show the Cruella texts to anyone on the way out and that, although they did connote exactly what he's been saying, he's been misquoting them all season long. (Yes, we freeze-framed it: shoot me.)
