The Bears beat the Packers in week 4 at Soldier Field. This was before the bears o-line turn around following their week 9 bye. Since the bye, the Bears have improved tremendously. Their pass game has improved along with the run game. Matt Forte is averaging over 4.5 ypc since the bye, Cutler is throwing 2 td's for every 1 int, special teams is the best in the league and their defense has been stellar all season.
Week 17, the Packers, in Lambeau, facing a win-and-in scenario, essentially a playoff game, barely get by a Chicago Bears team that had absolutely nothing to play for. The Bears went in with a vanilla game plan and still only gave up 10 points to the Packers. The Bears averaged 5.5 ypc but only ran the ball 20 times, compared to 45 pass plays. Anyone who watched that game remembers the constant pressure Cutler was under. The Bears know they can run on GB, so they used the last game of the season as an opportunity to see everything GB would throw at them on the defensive side of the ball. The Packers, treating the game as a playoff game were forced to expose exactly how they would attack the Bears.
Aaron Rodgers put up great numbers against Atlanta on Saturday but the Bears are a better defense than Atl and Rodgers won't have the added benefit of playing indoors in ideal conditions. Along with the strategic advantage the Bears have due to the week 17 game, the Bears have home field advantage, a super healthy team and confidence going into this game. If it's snowing hard the Bears might be screwed.
Bears win 24-17
