Can't wait for some yutz to bring this up during the 2012 election. Maybe even in a debate. God, how priceless would that be?

It has to be asked during the first GOP debate, which should be coming up this summer. With (hopefully) Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin there, its already going to be a train wreck. But somebody's gotta ask, "Do you think the Birther movement is crazy?" Let them fall all over themselves trying to avoid giving an answer. It will be hilarious.

I for one encourage you on your tirade along these lines of belief over fact.You should not let this stand as long as you believe otherwise!

My belief is consistent with all the facts. The whole Obama birth certificate case is a house of cards. I presented a theory which if true brings down that house. There are just too many pieces missing. No photographs of baby Obama in his mothers arms in the hospital. No friends to testify that he was in fact born there. No doctor, nurse or anyone who can recall this blessed event. Without a signed document by a doctor, I am not buying it. Yes we have a newspaper clipping and the state of Hawaii accepting some unidentified vital record which they accepted as proof of his birth in Hawaii. It is not that rock solid of a case. Really, it is not.

I really think this whole conversation is quite silly, but I am hopped up on pain meds. I didn't see your theory, but am only going to comment on what your quoted post.President Obama is approximately my age. My parents had no pictures of me in my mothers arms in the hospital. The only person who is living that could verify where I was born is my 81 year old aunt. Except for her, there is not a person alive who could verify that I was born in Mercy Hospital in New Orleans. I have an older living sibling and she is only 5 years older than me and she has no memory of my birth. She does have a memory of me of a baby crying keeping her up at night and she wanted my parents to return me to the hospital, but no memory of me in the hospital.President Obama has more proof than I do of where he was born. And one more point that I don't think gets brought up enough....wasn't his mother, Ann Dunham, an American citizen born in Kansas? If true(and I believe it is), that would make President Obama a citizen of the US no matter where he was born in the world. This whole argument from the extreme right is downright wacky.(My contribution to get it to 30 pages )

Apparently being born American isn't natural enough for the Right so all the bitter losers are harping about this as if they know the Constitution writers meant "born in America" rather than being a "natural born citizen". Seems to me, especially since we've had a President that wasn't born here, that if you pop out of the womb as an American, you are a naturally born American. Loonies just love to build up their house of cards, claim to follow fact when they're chasing windmills, and just remain bitter that an overwhelming number of Americans didn't want their side to have the keys to the car anymore because of how ####ed up they left it when they had it last.

In a radio interview on Monday, potential presidential candidate Mike Huckabee repeatedly made false claims that President Obama grew up in Kenya, according to a report by Media Matters.

In an interview on WOR's "The Steve Malzberg Show," Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and 2008 presidential candidate, made repeated references to Mr. Obama's "having grown up in Kenya," and spoke of him having grown up "with a Kenyan father and grandfather" - despite the fact that Mr. Obama grew up largely in Hawaii and barely knew his father at all.

In responding to host Steve Malzberg's question about whether "we deserve to know more about this man" and his origins, Huckabee responded that "I would love to know more."

"What I know is troubling enough," Huckabee said of the president. "And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American."

Citing the fact that Mr. Obama in 2009 returned a bust of Winston Churchill to the British Embassy (an act Huckabee described as "a great insult" to the British), Huckabee said, "If you think about it, his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather."

There is no evidence to support the idea that the president grew up in Kenya, and various reports show he spent little time with his father over the course of his life. According to a New York Times report detailing the president's Kenyan roots, Mr. Obama has visited Kenya only three times, most recently in 2006. According to the president's 1995 memoir "Dreams from My Father," he visited Kenya for the first time in the late 1980s after his father was already dead.

Indeed, Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii and spent most of his childhood there with his mother and his mother's family (he also lived in Indonesia from 1967-1971). In "Dreams From My Father," Mr. Obama writes about his experience coming to terms with the absence of a strong paternal presence in his life.

Nevertheless, a small faction of Americans known as "birthers" continue to dispute Mr. Obama's American citizenship, despite the fact that the claim has been repeatedly debunked and his birth certificate made publicly available.

Of course it was a mistake. Huckabee's problem was he took that mistake and then built an entire hypothesis on that mistake in an attempt to slander a political opponent.

I don't see how condemning someone for making a mistake, especially from a hack like yourself who makes their share of mistakes, isn't anything but hypocritical. Of course it was a mistake. Huckabee's problem was he took that mistake and then built an entire hypothesis on that mistake in an attempt to slander a political opponent.

I am not defending what he did, I am just explaining what happened. He made a mistake, then went on to build upon that mistake. Certainly he was wrong and looks like a fool, but I don't think it was an evil intent on Huckabee's part. For the most part, Huckabee has tried to make the case that there was nothing there, but mistakenly went down this path. He was confused and made some dumb comments. It happens to the best of them.

Obama basically provoked Huckebee into making these comments by not releasing his Long Form Birth Certificate™, so it's really his fault for dragging this situation out.
