The Birther Conspiracy Thread (2 Viewers)

Crazy isn't the idea of one person filing a document claiming birth for their son or grandson. Crazy is wanting SO BADLY for something to be true that one will do anything and everything they possibly can to exhaust their potential for finding said truth. And then when the truth they seek simply isn't there?! They rally/regroup with a war cry of "well, they haven't proven it's NOT true either."

We both know there is a 99% chance that the definitive proof (either way) you are seeking was lost/discarded decades ago. You take the position that means Obama is lying and/or up to no good. The rest of us take that to mean that the records you are seeking were lost/discarded decades ago. Just like if you asked me to locate my original birth certificate, I couldn't do it. I have a passport, but I couldn't locate my original birth certificate before I got that passport approved before going to Japan...and then renewed before going to Italy. Does that mean I'm lying about ever having an "original" birth certificate, however? Am I up to some sinister plan to destroy the world?

Okay, crazy is a poor choice of words. Rather, it's a combination of hope, hatred, and/or some perverse love-child of the two. Kind of like if I tell you that unicorns are real. You ask me to produce proof. I provide 30 theories for where they live, where they've lived, why no unicorn remains have ever been found, why no photos/video of unicorns are available as "proof" that haven't been proven as fakes, et al. You continue to ask "where's the proof?!" and when I can't produce it and don't know how to prove it, I get the warm, fuzzy blanket of "you haven't proven unicorns AREN'T real either!" to protect my psyche.

Kind of like all the guys on this board who think I'm cuckoo for cocoa puffs because of my supposed experiences with ghosts and demons, eh?! ;) I know it's true because of what I believe and have experienced. Not a shadow of a doubt in my mind. You ask for proof. About the best I can do is try and describe experiences that don't seem to have explanation...experiences that my wife, daughters, neighbor, sister, niece, etc. have shared, which is about the equivalent (to you) of me producing some nice "CG" of a unicorn. I eventually give up, since you're not going to be convinced that ghosts/demons exist...and wrap myself in that warm, fuzzy blanket of "well, if he could walk a mile in my shoes, he might see things differently" (AKA go ahead and prove me wrong).

Trust me, I get it. From both sides of the coin! Only Obama was born in Hawai'i...and ghosts/demons exist. :D Unicorns? Show me proof...lol.
No, I don't know there is a 99% chance the information has been lost. I am pretty sure states keep pretty good records especially in this day and age. And I really don't care if it is true or not. I don't think it will change anything. I just hate when people put people down and insult them when there is a legitimate point being made. I will stand up for it. Some of them are crazy pushing ideas for money, but most people just want to know and they have that right. I can't stand how the media demonizes tea partiers and birthers. I find it disgusting.
Your claims have been repeatedly summarily disproven, often with simple 10 second google efforts. You have yet to acknowledge or address these, instead you move on to the next cockamamie idea you dream up/hear on Glen Beck. You are not interested in making a legitimate point. It is obvious you haven't made the effort on your own to research most anything you have claimed here.

Absolutely dead on.As Ive stated before, there is not a single righteous bone in jon_mxs body. Not one.

Just friggin amazing. I don't know if I can actually believe this poll.
Most people don't follow politics too closely this far out from an election, especially with regard to a fringe issue like this. By virtue of his celebrity, Donald Trump has an audience that extends well beyond political junkies like us.So, at this moment in time, you've got a lot of people who hear Trump insinuate that Obama wasn't born here, and just don't give enough of a #### about it to find out if it's really true. I'd imagine a similar poll taken in October 2012 with a likely voter screen applied would produce saner numbers.

There are more false claims on the pro-obama side. You can read thousands of claims on the net and in the media that Obama has already released his birth certicate, which is a factually incorrect statement. And that is the fact that is the biggest sticking point. The claim that you guys attack me on is my assertion that Hawaii has extremely lax laws in getting a birth recorded. Which I contend is true and I will make a post within the week which will layout the case against what Obama has shown and how it is a house of cards.

Yeah...you haven't been paying attention....just as I thought. I've never really "attacked" you but has simply asked for the evidence your opinion is based on. You have not once answered that question so I just assume you are a terrible fisherman and have been participating for the comedic factor.

Latest NY Times Poll, issued today, among Republicans:
Don't put too much stock in a poll of Republicans conducted by the New York Times.
Not sure what you're getting at here. Are you suggesting the Times is lying about the results of this poll?
I'm suggesting the results should be taken with the same amount of skepticism you would have for a poll of Democrats conducted by Fox News.
But I don't have any skepticism about that. Fox News is generally slanted to the right, but their polls tend to be very reliable, as do the New York Times polls.
It's not the poll results that are usually to be questioned, it's the assumptions/conclusions garnered from them that need to be taken with a grain of salt. All the talking head shows apply here.

Kind of fun to watch the anti-birthers scrambling now as they continue to just boldly make #### up.

* O'Reilly got caught with his pants around his ankles when he stated on-air that Obama Sr lived in Connecticut for several years in the 70s and that he got his son's SS# for him, and then further claimed he would stake his credibility on it - then disappears when it's proven that Obama Sr was in Africa that whole time period.

* The New York Times is now printing a fabricated biography of Stanley Anne Dunham that states she married and lived with Obama Sr in Hawaii until shortly after Obama Jr's hospital birth (omitting the name of the hospital, of course) when there is no record of any marriage between them nor any documentation that they actually lived together, as well as all documentation showing that Dunham lived the whole time with her parents.

* Abercrombie has gone through about 5 different version of his various stories - from being at the hospital with his close friends the Obamas when Obama Jr was born; to actually seeing and holding the long form BC; to thoroughly searching the records and only finding a hand written note as documenation of Obama Jr's birth and no BC of any kind; to being stopped by Hawaii state officials from doing any search of the records; to now only being present somewhere in the state of Hawaii when Obama Jr was born.

Great fun watching the left scramble all over itself in making up various stories only to have evidence show them to be fairy tales and then coming up with entirely new stories.

You think that's fun....try stepping out and watching both groups. Double your pleasure, double your fun. I thank all of you for this

Well played....now we'll watch him attempt to distance himself. Hiding behind the "I am not saying he's not a US citizen" while arguing for all the reasons the birthers are correct for thinking Obama isn't. The gift that keeps giving.

See? This is what I'm talking about. Not one birther here has the guts to actually come out and say he wasn't born in the USA. Yet 47% of you guys believe that, so we know you're out there. Show yourselves; come into the light! Don't be afraid, we won't laugh at you any more than we do now. Just admit you don't think he was born here, you'll feel better about yourself for being honest.

Which one of the above is "my own"?
I think some people are under the misconception that guys like O'Reilly and David Brooks are conservatives.
Conservatives don't even know what conservatives are anymore. It's lost all meaning.
 There's a reason why O'Reilly gets the interviews when Obama wants to talk on Fox.
Well yeah...he's the least of the evils. Is this news?

Tim....because there very little evidence which supports a foreign birth. What the circumstantial evidence indicates to me is that there is no birth certificate. I am fairly confident in saying that, it is consistent with all the facts and behavior and statements. On August 9, 1961, either mom or the granparents filed the appripriate paperwork with the state and the announcements in the newspapers appeared a few days later. I am also fairly certain that dad and mom were separayed by this time, as Ann was in the state of Washington shortly after the birth registering for classes there, where she continued to study until dad graduated and left Hawaii. Then Ann returned and resumed classes in Hawaii in 1963.

The summer of 1961 seems like a black hole for the Obama's. But dad and mom were not a happy couple.

I'm going to put aside your arguments because we've been over all that, and obviously I disagree with your assumptions and conclusions regarding this issue. But more importantly:1. You are a conservative Republican.2. You have stated "there is very little evidence which supports a foreign birth".3. Nearly 50% of the Republican party believes that he was born in another country. This means, according to your own words, nearly half of all Republicans are acting on very little evidence. Does this bother you at all? Can you understand why this would cause those in the mainstream to have at the worst contempt, at the best very little regard for today's conservatives?

one can see the confusion caused by the state officials...from wikipedia

Joshua Wisch, a spokesman for the Hawaii attorney general's office, stated in 2011 that the original Certificate of Live Birth kept in the archives of the Hawaii Department of Health is "... a Department of Health record and it can't be released to anybody", including President Obama.
but
"there have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama's official birth certificate", Fukino explained that the department was prohibited by state law from releasing it to "persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record."
and
According to CNN's researchers, the original birth certificate no longer exists, as Hawaii discarded all paper birth records in 2001, and the certification of live birth is the official copy.[41]
IIRC, state officials were CNN's source for thisbut
Contradicting CNN, Janice Okubo, public information officer for the Hawaii DOH, said "We don't destroy vital records."[42]
The State officials seem to really be muddying up the waters on this due to their incompetence

Well, there was this moment of unguarded candor from bueno:
According to www.usconstitution.net, the applicable law is Title 8 of the U.S. Code:

[*]Anyone born inside the United States and subject to its laws (i.e. not the child of a diplomat)

[*]Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe

[*]Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.

[*]Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national

[*]Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year

[*]Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21

[*]Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)

[*]A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.

I'm pretty sure that Obama fulfills the bolded definition.

Technically, the poll only asked if Obama was born within the United States. Respondents could have answered "No" if they thought Obama was born on a boat, or a plane, or if they did not know that Hawaii was a state at the time.

While I think that Obama was born in the United States and he is completely a legitimate President. It would be very easy for him to put this whole thing to bed. That said, he's doing exactly what I would do if I were him. Why would he release that information? The nuts that keep bringing up this nonsense are doing him a big favor. With the media talking about all of this they aren't talking about the real issues. If people keep asking about his birth certificate then they aren't talking about the economy, jobs, healthcare, spending, war and other things that should be at the forefront of conversation. He won the Presidency of the United States of America fair and square. He did it legally and he's completely legit. He's going about this very intelligently. I hope that people quit talking about this nonsense and start looking at the real issues. Because while he is the President, he sucks at the job! That's what should matter most.

This is fascinating

http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=73214

A separate WND investigation into Obama's certification of live birth utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic. The investigation also revealed methods used by some of the bloggers to determine the document was fake involved forgeries, in that a few bloggers added text and images to the certificate scan that weren't originally there.(Editor's note: WND's investigation into the certification of live birth did not include inspecting the actual document, but only asking experts to evaluate the online image. Those experts, therefore, could not "prove" the document's authenticity. The experts told WND merely that many of the forgery claims made against the image were inconclusive or falsified, leaving them no evidence that would cast doubt on the image's authenticity

Doesn't this run counter to his promises of change and transparency?I see this as a microcosm of this country's issues and anathema to the rationale of why many people voted for him the first time. This demonstrates that mistrust of our government and other instititions is at an all-time high. Rather than trying to restore trust, he seems to be continuing to feed the mistrust and to play the same games that people perceived that he would put an end to.

Tim, I have no issues with some or most Republicans who question where Obama was born. It is Obama's obligation to prove it to the American people. He claims he was born in a hospital and a birth certificate exists. I say he is a liar. There was no Hospital in Hawaii and there is no birth certificate. I don't know the circumstances around his birth, but the story being told is a lie. Most likely it is as simple as he was born at home and he thinks revealing that would raise more questions as it contradicts his statements and his biography. But everything points to there being no birth certificate.

Doesn't all this documentation end the debate? If she lived with her parents the whole time, where did they live?

If his mom did all of this globetrotting back then, wouldn't she have a passport? Just produce that thing and it'll show where she was when BHO was born.

This may have been covered in this thread already but I haven't read the whole thing. How about the possibility that Obama was indeed born in Hawaii but his father is not his mother's husband? He is embarrassed by this and thus does not want to release his birth certificate? My wife believes this to be true and showed me a picture of his mother's mentor who looks much motre like Obama than Obama sr.

A funny thing happened to the FOIA filing for Mrs. Obama's passort records, the earliest records were lost. The first records they have is for a renewal in 1965. At the time she was four months into her second marriage, but the renewal application was for her maiden name, not Soeroto. Those records would shed some light, but they don't appear to exist.

Don't.....My problem with that theory is why did she name him BHO if he was not his father? That appears to be his name from day 1 accorfing to the announcements.

Interesting. Do you have a link to this development?

This perfectly sums up why folks around here think you're bat#### crazy. You don't know the circumstances around his birth but you know enough to call him a liar. Again....what evidence are you using to come to this conclusion (8th time I have asked this question....and counting)

He's already admitted in the other thread that it's because Obama is a liberal, and that he would not similarly question the circumstances of a conservative politician's birth.

What makes me come to that conclusion that Obama has no birth cerificate?

1. He hasn't released it, despite saying he had it in his book.

2. No hosptial claims this is where Obama was born, despite Obama writing a letter to one saying he was.

3. No doctors, or nurses, or even friends, or neighbors recall this event. Just same lady claiming a doctor mentioned it to her in casual coversation.

4. The statement by the state official is legally parsed to leave the door open for other type of documentation besides a birth certificate.

5. Obama is too thin-skinned not to combat this more directly if he had the proof.

6. Under the circumstances I outlined, the actions taken by Obama is exactly what he should be doing to cover it up. It is a well laid planned which is nearly impossible to prove otherwise. I think something is being hidden and it is a brilliant legal strategy to do such.

Many assume Obama is doing it for political reason, I think it is legal manuvering. Not sure why that is crazy.

:bag: Sorry....it's hard to keep track of the crazy in one thread much less several others.

So because no one is playing along with the "theory" it must be true....got it. At least you're honest that you're letting your bias drive this in you. I will say, at this point, if 1,2 and 3 all happened today, it would NOT change the minds of most wrapped up in this "theory". When bias and supposition are the main drivers in a belief no mound of evidence will change the mind. I suspect THIS is why no one's even bothering with it at this point.

Does Obama have a passport? I was required to present a raised seal birth certificate to get one, or does this "theory" go way back to a carefully laid plan that started well before he was a US politician?
