I didn't say Whataburger didn't taste good, I said it didn't look good... You've got to be the most stubborn person on Earth to say there is no visual with food & stick with it.

When I was a kid and went to AZ to visit family, Sonic was awesome. Fast forward 25 years, they came here (Illinois) to our town. Absolutely, completely horrible. I tried them 4-5 times, brutal. Did something change?

You have obviously never lived or traveled overseas. If I chose food on the basis of looks, I would have never found Tortellini Pasticciati or the Doner Kebab, the 2nd best pasta dish and best sandwich I've ever had. How many different foods have you tried in your lifetime? Ten, eleven?

Look, I'm not saying that food that looks good isn't good. Maybe it is, and maybe it's Olive Garden or Chili's commercials. Those places essentially prepare great-looking microwave dishes and people love it, good for them. But the worst looking burgers are often the best, and there are so many varieties of foods that don't look great but taste terrific.

Does this look good? That is my favorite dish in the world, better than pizza, great hamburgers, or whatever. The whole "don't judge a book by its cover" cliché was meant for food IMO, looks mean much less than you would think. Presentation is where it's at in cuisine, but that is designed to make something not as visually appealing to seem more appealing. The taste of the food is incidental.

I have never seen it in the U.S., the right ingredients are very hard to get outside of Italy. I would love to try it here, just haven't found a place just yet.

My only Five Guys experience saw me with a heap of overdone, greasy, meaty, octopus-like fries that spread across my plate like a heap of bad pasta. Maybe the vinegar makes them crisp up somehow. I'll never find out.

Wendy's are good, McDonalds are still the best IMO but only at one of the franchises that use salt.
