The Daryl Richardson Thread (1 Viewer)

Is he rosterable in a 14 team league?(Would drop Daniel Thomas who, coincidentally, I traded Pad to the SJax owner for)
I think he's worth a shot in almost all dynasty/keeper leagues.I don't expect much redraft value in 2012, but with the right breaks he could become a valuable commodity. He has looked really promising in the small sample size so far and I hope he gets some more opportunities soon.

This guy has beastly talent. If SJax were to suffer an injury this season there is no way he would get the full time gig back. D-Rich has too much game.
SJax has HOF caliber talent and has been stuck on awful teams for most of his career, but Daryl Richardson is far superior to him? This is just crazy talk, and I kind of like Richardson.
Athletically he is more explosive, faster, quicker, and I believe better suited to the strengths of what fisher wants to do. SJax WAS a great rb in his day, but he is pushing 30 and at the tail end of a good career. With all of the carries he's endured, SJax is on borrowed time as is. Michael Turner 2.0
Odds of Daryl Richardson having anything remotely close to the career that Steven Jackson has had has to be about 1%. Maybe 2%.
Clearly...But this isn't comparing the course of their careers, this is about who is the better player for the next few years. A more explosive Daryl Richardson creates more problems for the defense than a plodding SJax at this point in time.
But you're saying if SJax sprains his ankle and misses a week, he has no chance at getting the starting job back from Richardson. That's ludicrous IMO. I like him in dynasty as a decent flyer with nice upside, but saying there's zero chance SJax could get his job back if he misses time this year just makes no sense. I mean it's just not even remotely true IMO.

plodding is not the way I would describe sjax either.,, hes better than that

I agree the opportunity is there. The wheels will soon start coming off for Sjax, and this is a young and budding offense with a really talented QB and TE and with the right receiver additions it could be a great spot for a fantasy RB.

I'm rostering both for now in a dynasty league. The only reason is because I too believe SJax is almost done and having the primary RB in this offense will eventually pay off if/when they get their offensive line fixed. The rest of the pieces are there for this team to succeed, but God that line sucks right now.

I get that Richardson has the early advantage, but I just can't accept that there's been enough time for him to run away from a 2nd round pick (Pead). And time after time we see that skill will beat out athleticism. But the "x" factor that can even the deal is work ethic. As mentioned above, if Pead is a slacker, then maybe the contest is over. But if Pead has any drive in him, his medium-term future can't be written off. I know nothing about either RB's work habits, so I have no idea how this will play out.

...and that sucks because I hate taking up 2 roster spots.

Not to mention a coach that will run, run, run.

Some of you guys were really onto something, SJax looks washed up.
Richardson got 2 carries in the red zone, SJax spiked the ball(earned a penalty) and Fisher benched him for the moment. Rams scored a TD with him on the sidelines. Fisher is going to make an example out of him, I would expect SJax to be traded very soon.

I love Richardson for next year. A year to add about 10 lbs.

That's going way soft IMO. I expect Jackson to be cut after the game and Fisher to take a dump on his jersey in the press conference.

I think this is a bit extreme.
I'm a little Phin-drunk right now after that amazing display of Miami prowess today, I apologize SY :)

I would look for some type of action from Goodell. 4 game minimum suspension likely.

Own D. Richardson in everyone of my dynasty leagues. Guy can play.

MAD PROPS TO EBF, granted sometimes in the SP we get a little crazy but you could see the writing on the wall. Just ripped a 50 yarder and I would say he is not a real factor in this Rams offense. It's one run but the door is open and he is coming thru right now.

This is why you come to FBG and the SP, awesome EBF!!!

Just scored!!
..a 2-point conversion. What a sad day for SJax's owners haha. He was about to have a monster day then rages because of bad officiating and gets benched. Drich does look good though, gotta handcuff him after today.
SSnD, I don't see him as a handcuff right now. The fallout after...Fisher has had some run ins with players in the past, would not surprise me if this becomes more than just a 1 week switch.

You think that Fisher is going to outright bench him for this? That'd be a bit much haha.

Yeah this looks more like a move by Fisher to turn around what could have been a weak culture in the locker room of a perennial loser. SJax doesn't appear to have complained at all.

A trade would make a lot of sense for SJax and the Rams. Think Rex would give up a pick for him? He could put the Jets over the top this year!!

Me thinks any trade is an upgrade at this point. Not many teams have a worse OL or offense for that matter.I want to ask..For SJax owners, what % of your FAAB budget are you planning on using for Drich? How about for those of you who don't own SJax?

As an SJax owner in redraft I'm stepping back off the ledge now.
SJax wasn't getting benched beyond this game anyway. Pure power play by Fisher.
:goodposting:Unless there is something else going on in the locker room, in which case I could see a tradeI think this game did establish, to the extent it was not clear, that Richardson is the #2 guy, well ahead of Pead.
SJax has a bad hammy. Time to panic if you own him. Maybe that's why he spiked the football too. Frustrated because he got hurt?
