There's just too many variables at play for me to believe he's going to get any significant playing time barring a serious SJax injury. Just to summarize why I'm not completely sold..- He only had three runs of 5+ yards(8,53,5), conversely Jackson had gains of 14,12,9 and 20 on fewer carries- He averaged 2.14 YPC on 14 of his 15 touches- A majority of his touches came post Orakpo/Carriker injuries, while Jackson was breaking off chunks against a healthy WAS front- He fumbled the ball at the least opportune time and committed the ultimate rookie mistakeIt's actually funny you made the JC comparison, because I was about to do the same. Then I was going to point to how SJax is nowhere near as bad as LJ was before he was unseated.

I also am not buying SJAX was injured. I think he was benched. I don't think he lost his job to a rookie who made a couple plays. if anything, the rams found out they have a nice player in Richardson but things are going to stay with SJAX getting almost all the touches. I am curious to see the practice report and see what injury they list SJAX with as limiting him. the rams do seem to be getting better on offense, so if SJAX is healthy like I think he is, he could be in store for a great rest of the year

Every RB's stats would like weak if you took away his biggest plays. It's a ridiculous way to frame the stats. Kind of like saying a baseball player would've had a terrible day...if you took away the three run home run. The 53 yarder was a game-changer that helped put St. Louis in position for the winning score. Doesn't get much better than that. You are also glossing over some important facts:
- Richardson has clearly surpassed Pead, who was a high draft pick.
- Richardson has been productive in every game but his very first preseason outing.
- His coach trusted him enough to leave him in the game when he could've easily gone back to Jackson.
- He has some elite physical tools.
- He has looked legit all along (to my eyes).
And from a dynasty standpoint, Jackson's days are numbered. He has already beaten the odds to last as long as he has.
There's a lot to like here. It just seems like you are swimming against the current.

I'm referring to Richardson for redraft purposes, not keeper/dynasty. Although the "take away big run" is indeed a lame argument, it depends on the context. I'm using the numbers to specifically compare what SJax did vs. a healthy WAS front to what Drich did against an unhealthy WAS front. Seriously, WAS didn't look like the same team once Orakpo tore his pectoral and Carriker left in the 1rst quater, I think they're in a bit of trouble (Morris owners should sell now). I agree he should be snagged up in all dynasty/keepers and all redrafts by SJax owners but I think it stops there. Some people (not you specifically) are getting a little carried away with believing that this is all of a sudden a RBBC.

Considering this guy might start this week, Im shocked he's still available in 2 of my leagues. In fact in one league, Draughn, Powell, and Starks all were picked up but Richardson wasnt.
I think I might pull the trigger and drop Hawkins or Quizz for him.

I was able to grab DRich for 15% of my FAAB budget in the two leagues I own SJax. I was surprised no one outbid me since in one league the players usually get a little blinded by hype. I'm still expecting SJax to play this week but I do feel a bit safer now.

I had the opportunity to get Morris in a couple leagues and passed. I just don't find him that impressive. Completely average back benefiting from a favorable situation. Doubt he would even make the roster on the 49ers or Eagles. I think Richardson has a much better chance at a meaningful career in dynasty leagues, which is all I really care about since I have something like 8 dynasty teams and only 1 redraft.

You're saying Richardson has performed well (since it supports your initial assessment) and refusing to acknowledge Morris has played well (since that doesn't support your initial assessment of him).

Richardson will only see the field if SJax is hurt worse than they are letting on. Heck, even if that happens I think you may see more of Pead than one would expect. Probably RBBC. However, Morris will start every game this year basrring injury. There is no RBBC. He's a powerful back that runs downhill, finishes his runs, and seems to hold onto the ball well. Helu will only spot him on 3rd downs. Royster could be off this team by next year unless he learns how to play special teams.

Sorry, but Morris is the definition of average. The main thing working in his favor is the fact that Washington's other RBs are also really bad. I think his value derives completely from opportunity and not at all from his own ability. I avoid those guys like the plague in dynasty leagues. Like I said, he would be lucky to even make the roster for a team like the 49ers, Eagles, or Panthers. I think Richardson is a much more dynamic talent with a much better chance of being FF relevant in two years. All the Skins homers in the world aren't going to change my opinion on that. It's pretty much irrelevant to this thread though. There are plenty of Morris threads on the board already. It would probably be better to discuss his prospects there instead of dragging him into this Richardson discussion for no apparent reason.

A nine-year veteran with 2,168 career carries, Jackson is the kind of player who can play and be effective on Sunday with zero reps Wednesday-Friday, but things are certainly trending in the wrong direction. Owners need to have a backup plan. Rookie Daryl Richardson will be a plug-and-plug flex option in deeper leagues if S-Jax is a no-go.

A short bench is forcing me off the Daryl Richardson bandwagon and onto Bilal Powell's. At this point it's merely jockying for a RB4 that's got a shot at a starting gig. I perfer Richardson to Powell but sometimes opportunity trumps talent.

I don't think that's the sole source of excitement, at least not from the dynasty perspective. Richardson has looked good and Jackson is probably nearing the end of his career as a starter. Richardson has a good chance to earn a prominent role.
Probably more relevant to a RB is avg yards per rushing attempt, where the Redskins rank 21st at 4.2 yards a carry (a group of 9 teams average between 4.0 and 4.2 yards per carry).
The Bengals bring up the rear at an astonishing 5.8 yards per carry. NO, GB, and Atl are the other teams allowing at least 5.0 yards per carry.
So as a run defense the Redskins are pretty close to average.

I dunno if the guy in your League is reading this or not, but Alf appears to be quite legit. Theres also a good chance you may want to read up on how the Skins (Shanny) use the RB position. I may be going out on a limb here, but I feel Alf may have a shot at producing next yr too (think some teams would be more apt to snag an extra RB NO style)
P.S. Once you understand the Shanny way, you may not mind Alf's playoff matchup's (But it might be smart to sell high at a specific point) Im pretty sure I'd ride it out, dunno

I think it's a good sign because Ganaway is more similar style wise to Jackson than Richardson. So it seems like activating Ganaway is a precaution because of Jackson's uncertain status.

A healthy S-Jax is a no brainer.But he's not 100%, is playing a VERY good defense, and I think he will lose a lot of 3rd down snaps to Richardson.I'm taking my chances on Blount getting more involved and hoping he finds the endzone.
