Thank youThe race for 2nd is an interesting one - Bell or Sapp?Secret ploy by Mike Shanahan to motivate...I can't do it.

Can they merge polls?
Burned by a pothead, so they turn to another one?Ricky Williams
Who?cory dillon
he showed he can play so well....they moved him to FullbackShanahan will pull another trick out of his hat , Mike Bell.He is the player on this squad who knowns the offense the best , and he showed he can play last season .
May be slightly off topic. But just picked him up in a league where I have Westbrook/Jordan after seeing the threads regarding Travis Henry's failed test this afternoon. Just 2 minutes ago got offered Thomas Jones and Lendale White for him.he showed he can play so well....they moved him to FullbackShanahan will pull another trick out of his hat , Mike Bell.He is the player on this squad who knowns the offense the best , and he showed he can play last season .![]()
Shanahan did the same thing with both Mike Anderson and Reuben Droughns.he showed he can play so well....they moved him to FullbackShanahan will pull another trick out of his hat , Mike Bell.He is the player on this squad who knowns the offense the best , and he showed he can play last season .![]()
Was a great post in the other thread too.Young until he fumbles, then...
History is not kind to those trying to predict Shanahan's calls based on the past. And I'm not sure he places game-breaking ability above any other strength that a running back must possess either.Am I missing something about Sapp? I dont really understand all the love. His stats through his 5 year career:37 rushes 189 yards 1 TD14 catches 84 yards 0 TDsThats in 5 years. I just dont see him turning into a 15-20 carry/game back.Admittedly I dont know much about the guy though.I think Young will be the main guy, but most likely more of an RBBC than if Henry was around.
Don't forget they did the same to Mike Anderson.he showed he can play so well....they moved him to FullbackShanahan will pull another trick out of his hat , Mike Bell.He is the player on this squad who knowns the offense the best , and he showed he can play last season .![]()
Feel like posting Rueben Droughns numbers from Detroit for comparison?Am I missing something about Sapp? I dont really understand all the love. Did he do it a week after Mike Anderson suffered a concussion?Don't forget they did the same to Mike Anderson.
I love how Mike Bell somehow knows the offense better than anyone, namely Cecil Sapp.Shanahan will pull another trick out of his hat , Mike Bell.He is the player on this squad who knowns the offense the best , and he showed he can play last season .

Tough to compare Droughns to Sapp. Droughns barely got a chance to show his stuff -- he spent his rookie year on IR and then only got to play in 3 games his second year before Detroit gave up on him.Feel like posting Rueben Droughns numbers from Detroit for comparison?Am I missing something about Sapp? exactlyNot even close.. It's Young's. He has practiced with 1st team.. Gotten the carries outside of Henry and Shanny likes him..
hahahaI did draft Mike Bell in a very late round thinking Henry was hurt and he would be the starter. I immediately dropped him for Jake Delhomme after week #1. I broke the cardinal sin of drafting a Denver RB and have since confessed. I go now and will sin no more; nor will I consider trying to guess which way Ratface will try and screw the FF owners by playing a shell game with RBs.
I'm wondering which RBBC is more cloudy at this point; Oakland or Denver? I give the edge to Shanny just for past experience at ####ing people over.
While I like Selvin Young, I don't see him being a 25+ touch a game RB. RBBC with Sapp or Bell is more likely. Why not Selvin Young as RB#1 in Denver? * he's young & inexperienced (rookie) * he's small (207 lb) * still learning the offense * crowded backfield * they are already missing WR#1 J Walker * Young is a "Change of Pace" RB * his practicing with 1st Team is as a 3rd Down RB/Change of Pace * Shanny will not give him a long leashYeah, I know the other small RB's stories too (Westy, Addai, Bush) but none of them get 25 touches a game and they all have injury concerns. Travis was a biggger bull rush RB, between the tackles type. Young is an outside/sweep RB. They are not the same type of RB. They would have to change the whole offense to fit his skill set. Shanny will not do that.Young's the obvious choice, and it looks like he'll be the guy they go with to begin with. but do you really think the minute he starts to falter shanahan wont let someone else run with it? the last 15 or so years have shown me one thing about the denver running game - it's not difficult for a back with good to great vision or athleticism to flourish in that system. i think at some point someone else comes in and at least takes a couple of games worth of carries from young.
Why don't you check out Derrick Ward's career stats before this season as well. It's called getting an opportunity and making the most of it.Am I missing something about Sapp? Not sure it be Young. Some unknowns here. I think Young has had one big fumble lost in a game already, if holding on to the ball becomes an issue, it's open season. My gut feeling tells me all 3 backs play, but Bell gets the goal line and most points per game.wtu311 said:exactlyRaiders Fan said:Not even close.. It's Young's. He has practiced with 1st team.. If Sapp was starter material why would Shanny bother with Mike Bell, Savin Young, Garrison Hearst, Ron Dayne, Tatum Bell, Quentin Griffin, Cedic Cobbs, and Damien Nash all of whom have gotten better opportunities than Sapp has during his time with the club.BroadwayG said:Feel like posting Rueben Droughns numbers from Detroit for comparison?Suzy said:Am I missing something about Sapp?
