The End of the Tour (1 Viewer)

I just watched this movie and I'm not sure if I liked it or not.  I liked the characters and kinda would like to hang out with them for a bit to talk.  They were both very flawed which would actually put me at ease. Although I am not a dog lover... and as a cigarette smoke hater there would be issues.  I only seem to be around high achieving confident people these days which is exhausting.   Anyway, did anyone else see/like this movie?

I have not seen it, nor heard of it before now. It looks to have solid reviews from the "critics".

A few months ago I stumbled across DFW for the first time and watched a youtube video of a commencement speech he gave entitled This is Water. I put Infinite Jest on my to read list but haven't given it another thought since that day.

Thanks for bringing him back into my awareness.

I'll check out the movie too.

ETA: @The_Man I was browsing your thread about DFW and saw your post about reading "Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself", the book that this movie was based on. Figured you might have something to say in this thread. Or in case you didn't know about the movie, well know ya know.

My DFW advice is to start with his essay collections before trying "Infinite Jest." His shorter works warm you up for his style, are more conventionally structured, and help you decide whether or not you want to stick with him through such a long, unconventional novel. I still haven't watched the movie. Just not sure I want to see him imitated by an actor, reciting lines that Wallace never intended to be heard, let alone portrayed in a movie.

Jason was solid and I'm not really a fan.  Zuckerberg was the same deal.  He's a bit more annoying though.
