The entire Cowboys team should carry Dez Bryant's pads (1 Viewer)

"Receiver Dez Bryant tweeted after the game: “I’m sorry to all the Dallas Cowboys fans. … I promise not to give up and keep fighting …my mind will not let me - from Dez Bryant”"

I'll tell you this much....I don't think Austin could have caught that ball that Dez caught for the TD yesterday.
:goodposting:Austin's vertical at the Combine measured 40.5"
soooo..... youre saying what
I'm saying he can jump really high.
He's not as big or as strong which both came into play on that TD. Austin is nimble as a cat, but you can't teach size.
Hands too. After a one year exception, Austin is back to showing his average (if that) hands.

TO got by with an OK career with average hands...I think Austin will be fine. Lots of overreaction here to a couple bad games with Kitna at the healm. Dez is an elite talent, no questions asked. Austin however isn't so bad himself. I believe the emergence of Dez will only strengthen Austin's long term value. Austin is no joke. He is suited to run intermediate to deep routes, Dez is a more athletic version of Anquan Boldin. I think if they remain on this team they will be a great 1a/1b tandem that really play to each other's strengths. That said, you can pretty much write off Austin's value this year unless Romo comes back early. Kitna has already shown his inability to hit Austin when he gets open deep.

Austin doesn't have insane upper body strength. Just above average for a WR. His strength is in his balance and legs which is why he's so hard to tackle. Dez is the full physical package. He still has a lot to learn about route running and gaining position on DBs.

I'm a little confused by this statement. Miles Austin: Height 6' 2", Weight 215 lbs.

Dez Bryant: Height 6' 2", Weight 217 lbs.

I own Dez, and I am a fan. But aren't these guys practically the same size?

Why isn't Felix able to run down a linebacker from behind?
To be fair, he, like most of the rest of that team last night, didn't give full effort on that run back, but even when he did look like he tried to turn it on a bit, he didn't seem to have the same burst as in previous years, so I think the added weight and muscles has definitely taken away a bit of his quickness. He is probably still faster than the average NFL RB, but not as fast as he was.
I don't think this point of yours gets as much play as to the reason Jones is struggling as it should. Going into year two, Steve Slaton also gained about 15-20 lbs of "muscle" so that he could take the full load and it really hurt him (as we all know...he was not the same guy (sans the fumbles) as he was in year 1. What is ironic about all of this is that Barber lost weight to be "quicker" and Jones gained the weight to be more durable. Regardless of what the line is like in Dallas today, I think neither would be able to do the things that put them on the map because of this. What I find interesting about all of this is that the coaches are so quick to make the chubby guys lose weight, yet when someone gains/loses weight yet muscle mass stays in tact, they think it is a positive. Barber blows through people; Jones blows by them...why a coaching staff would allow them to mess with that formula is beyond me.
