I've never had the sense this conversation on guns is hopeless. It's a great conversation. It's the quintessential and uniquely American conversation of individual rights cases common good. It's awesome, every American is a philosopher in this regard, it's who we are. When that conversation ends then we will be hopeless.

That's a decent observation. We can argue about issues for decades, partly because the nature of our government is that it usually takes decades for any real change to occur.

Time to start banning toddlers imo.  Round 'em up, send them to gitmo until they learn to handle guns safely.

Stupid and useless stat. In 2012, 800,000 babies were aborted, while only 15,000 people were murdered.
