The Hundred-Dollar Gas Fill-Up And The Demise Of The Democrats In 2022 (1 Viewer)

Damn……Was there yesterday and it cost me 74.  Same type of car.
Had to be the premium gas I have to use. Otherwise it would have been around $75. Sixteen gallons.

I really hope Ds don’t lose. The other party is unserious.

Yeah my car requires premium too but I opted to for go that and put in go ole regular.  So that makes sense.

It’s also extremely sad that 75 is somehow more acceptable.  I’m rooting for both to lose, though I know that’s not possible.

Just for 2002. They're dead.

Remember that book about the death of the Republican Party?

Yeah, I do.

That one. 2008. How stupid does that sound now? Typical Clinton-ite.
My only point was that the writing has been on that wall since November 2020.

The redistricting stuff might limit it a little bit, but either way you can only be dead once and Biden was always going to face a hostile Congress next year.

You guys in Cali?  If not, I wonder what gas is there now.
Yes, California. No need to wonder. It must be worse in more liberal areas than ours with the taxes on gas being probably higher locally plus the cost of delivery to city filling stations.

Well, they haven't stormed the Capitol building yet, so I guess they're not as serious.

They stormed everything else for two years for a lie, not to mention all the rape and murder in such places as Seattle's CHOP zone.  But yeah, I guess two hours of people without weapons walking around the capitol is unserious.  And, of course, none of those people will be on the ballot in November.

Considering I started the thread on BLM violence (twice!) that crowd can consider this an extra-special consistent place for all riots.
Asking for consistency in here is quite the stretch my ifriend.

*yes I understood what you meant by consistent but couldn’t pass up the obvious pun.

Let thy equivalencies and equivocations always be equal and your heart just as pure.

Just cost one hundred dollars to fill a tank.

Goodbye Ds.

Signed,

2022
I know that that's likely to be a common reaction.  But I just don't see how changing to R leadership will improve the situation.  I suppose it's just a simplistic "the grass is always greener on the other side" reaction.  I really don't want to regress to a time when climate change wasn't considered a serious threat (or other issues...) and the only real strategy seemed to be impeding the other party.  :kicksrock:

Yes. High gas prices and inflation don't poll well. Not sure what you are looking for here.
A personal anecdotal to an abstraction. Obviously stimulating some conversation about gas prices in the land and personal experiences therewith.

Any more more illuminating comments or nitpicks?

Here...here's a *gas face*. Nitpick its end.

The General doing the Lord's work and heavy lifting for Team Blue (?) in here, that's for ####'s sure.

Gas prices are the worst!

$8 for a full charge 👍
So a little story.  In late 2019 I very seriously was looking at Teslas (multiple test drives and had a bid to put charger in my garage), it was down to Tesla Model 3 or the car I ended up buying.  I drive 25/30k a year so the gas spend is real. But the math between the higher monthly car payment vs the gas and lower monthly was almost even.  Wife was nervous about the Tesla so I went the other direction (happy wife happy life and all).  So Covid hits a few months later and all driving stops.  Wife gloats endlessly about how the higher monthly Tesla would have bitten us in the ###.   Well now that gas is almost 6 bucks and the math now works in my favor who do you think is gloating now?  Yeah it’s not me. Happy wife happy life and all.

Guys,

The General votes Democrat! So should you! One hundred a tank ain't bad! Just drop 40K on a new BeeMZer. No sweats.

A used Leaf is like 10K BTW.

I am agreeing with you that high gas prices are not good for a political party. I don't understand your meditations of abstractions or whatever that is so perhaps I don't get the point you are making.

Yeah and enjoy that 75mile range for your 10k.
