The Next 100 best movies from the 80's (1 Viewer)

66 (tie). Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan
Scoresman - #25

I'm not a Trekkie, but I do remember this being a decent flick.
Wow really? Pegged this for the top 10.

Do I really have to write a defense of this pick?
I think it's just a matter of: are you a Trekkie or not? If one isn't into Star Trek, no Star Trek movie is going to move the needle for them.

Yeah I’m a pretty big nerd but never been my thing

Well I’d just say give it a shot. It may be the only trek film that holds up if you aren’t even a fan of the series.

Can you watch it without having seen any other Star Trek thing ever and having no understanding of that world beyond what's seeped into the general culture?

64 (tie). The Wall
shuke - #24

Did no one else even think of this? A masterpiece mix of art, cinema, and sound.
Yea, how did this not make the original list? Also, how is Shuke the only one who ranked this? I think I'd have it about where Shuke does on a COMPLETE list of 80's movies.....maybe a bit higher.....granted, I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan.

I think so. There was one episode of the tv series that the movie is derived from but it’s a classic revenge story. It’s been a while since I watched it but i saw it without having watched that episode.

Cool. I have heard such good things but always avoided it because I figured it would be like someone dropped blind into Return of the Jedi.

Can't rank what I haven't seen.

Get baked and watch it

I came close to ranking The Wall. It just doesn’t feel like an 80s movie to me. It just goes with the album. Can’t describe it.

Got one of those things covered, but The Wall isn't steaming anywhere. The copy the library had was rubbish so that usual plan is out too.

I’ve got it on DVD, could send it out if you want

You never saw The Wall???

Meanwhile I saw it because my dad had some bootleg betamax copy that I mostly watched for the nudity...oh and my crazy Catholic HS film studies teacher that I often mentioned showed it to the class.

This is what is a struggle with the 80's.

Roadhouse and Rocky IV are not good movies.

BUT THEY ARE AWESOME

What are the same movies of this decade? Fast and Furious?

61 (tie). Summer School
Lambskin - #23

I didn't have this anywhere near my list, but it does hold a fond memory for me. First time I ever got high was at a sleepover at a buddy's house in 9th grade, and we watched this.
I watched this movie an obscene amount of times. Think it was on HBO one summer or something.

Great 80's movie.
Yeah I feel like I’ve seen it 100 times. Loved the horror movie scene in it

61 (tie). Road House
shuke - #23

Just me? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
I’ve never seen this, feel like if I did now I’d be disappointed, probably should watch it

Love how bill Murray calls Kelly Lynches husband anytime he sees it’s on
Holy **** - let me echo your advice: get baked, get thee to Netflix, and watch Road House.

Would my wife like it?
How does she feel about gloriously bad 80s action movies with plenty of T & A?
