I know people are looking for horror, but not sure if they were looking for good ones like this or cheesy horror that dominated video store shelves at the time.

Another great by Carpenter that just has an eerie mood to it. Keith Gordon is perfectly casted and Alexendra Paul really did it for me at the time.

A great one, definitely . I think this one was 61 or 62 on my list. Just missed being a lot higher on this list.

I liked this one a lot. Thought it was among the most faithful adaptations of a King novel. Keith Gordon indeed played a effective creepy guy - hope we see him again later in this countdown.

If you would have had it at 60 it would only have added 1 point to the total so would only have moved it up maybe a spot.

lol back to the future 2
The complete list of this is going to be completely flawed. Frankly, the concept of having 2 or 3 people generate the list of 100 movies is comical. However, we love our clique schtick here so ...

Bro, stop.
:lmao:

Don't get all mad at what you yourself created. If you can't take criticism, why on earth did you choose to post your favorite 80s movies on an internet message board? I mean, you even saw the previous thread. What did you expect to happen here?

I'm not talking about criticism of the picks. Have at it. I'm talking about the whining about not being included. This wasn't set out to be all inclusive, sorry. I think these are more interesting when you have limited opinions, because it generates more discussion on what picks are good/bad.
Look, stop begging for me to be in your club. I offered once, you turned me down, and the internet never forgets. Im not talking about this anymore.

Im ok for it being on the list, but #34? Can you unpack what you liked about it so much? Story originality? Acting? Cinematography?

I've never seen the first grease, let alone the second one......I don't do musicals for the most part, unless they are about cannibals.

To be clear, I've seen parts of grease, I've just ever actually sat down and watched it on purpose.

They'll want to read the thread once they see we're picking movies like Toxic Avenger and No Holds Barred.
Shoot, I very much remember this movie rental going 'viral' when I was in high school.

Toxic Avenger was an after school meet up in my buddy's finished basement, where we smoked bad weed and watched this--and then Faces Of Death.

I am sorry to hear your childhood was lacking.

I think they're both great picks (one of them is mine after all), but will definitely get a certain level of criticism.

Sheeeet, you Florida kids ain't had no basement........

and then Faces Of Death.
That monkey scene haunts me.

It's OK for Michelle Pfeiffer, but that's about it. Maybe just a bit of Adrian Zmed.

he was never the same after George booted him from "Wham".

Zmed was one of the bigger tools to ever trouble daylight (<---- spolier alert to a flick i hope pops up)

coxsman of the doosh canoe Titanic, at that.

Ridgeley, otoh, went on to race F1s, iirc ... a not to be a trifled with fella - CHOOZ LYFE!

Will never argue against a Carpenter inclusion

Yeah he got annoying….his dad was awesome and got all hissy on him. STFU….you’re a Mellon!

I need to watch this again. Haven't seen it since Halloween night 1987 when the local theater brought it back for a one-off. My girlfriend Crystal didn't tell her mom she was going to see a rated R movie and somehow got busted and grounded for a month. That was that for our relationship. She was cute, and I guess I held it against Roddy McDowell because I haven't seen it since (and, actually, probably didn't see much of it on the night in question either).

Didn't they always show this on [rhonda voice] USA Up...........All Night [/rhonda voice]. I know I've seen it but only on cable.

Cued this up a few weeks back after the Rewatchables podcast ep. Had forgotten how great it was.

I'm not sure why I've always loved this movie so much:

(a) PAGAN,
(b) Connie* Swail? Don't you mean "the virgin Connie Swail?
(c) The amazing Dragnet: City of Crime rap video: It's no joke, I'm broke. My rights I can and will invoke. I'm homely, and I'm lonely. But the state cannot disown me
Do these look like the breasts of a forty year old woman?

Friday: No ma'am. They're quite impressive... bordering on spectacular.

Joe Friday: After losing the two previous vehicles we had been issued, the only car the department was willing to release to us at this point was an unmarked 1987 Yugo, a Yugoslavian import donated to the department as a test vehicle by the government of that country and reflecting the cutting edge of Serbo-Croatian technology.

One aspect of how the rankings are compiled is that it heavily weights any movie on all 3 lists. I think we may see a bit of a reverse top 10. We will see. However, I think the individual lists will be more compelling.
