The NFL is conducting an investigation of Peyton Manning, HGH delivery (1 Viewer)

Yes all of that is just as suspicious as having hgh delivered from a clinic you visited to your house addressed to your wife with a former employee secretly taped saying that it was for Manning addressed to his wife.

I could care less whether he did it, I care that we are a year removed from deflategate not only do people still not know the facts the league could give a #### less about whether Peyton or anyone else in the league did or didn't do anything.

They have a handful of out of context text messages that were given a slant by Wells when he editorialized his bought and paid for report with the help of the people who ####### paid him to do it - and then refused to let those same people give testimony.
Pls take your nonsense to the deflate gate thread and stop derailing this particular witch hunt.I know this is a tough concept, but not every 'scandal' is about the Pats.
That's the thing, Pats fans come scurrying in like cockroaches every time they see a "cheat" or "scandal" thread, seeing it as an opportunity to make it about them and say one of two things: (1) Everyone cheats or (2) The Pats don't cheat.

Again, most neurotic fan base ever in anything.

Actually we just want to give the thread its just discussion like everyone interested, perhaps we are more interested but so what! Yet theres a contingent of non Pat fans that want us not to discuss Peyton and HGH. If a Pat fan has an opinion, deflate gate influenced or not we are labeled "cry babies".

So we as members of Footballguys want to discuss a thread for its own value. Peyton/HGH. Some Pat's fans think HGH does matter. Fans of other teams do too. Some Pats fans don't but think the NFL is being hypocritical, so what?

Blah blah blah, im a crybaby, im a heynous Pats fan, blah blah blah

And by the way, Im active in many threads....I play FANTASY football. Get of your high horses. You arent going to change my passion for my team. You dont like them, fine, but don't expect me to ever think the Pats weren't railroaded. and frankly i don't care if you like my Pats or not.

Im just going to discuss the topic at hand.

HGH is illegal and he is a high profile future HOF. Even if you don't agree that it matters, its still newsworthy of a topic discussion.

You guys are a joke.

The league abandoned the science with the defense that they could punish anyone for anything with no proof, because the science didnt support them. That's why Brady suspension was overturned.

But that ignores that the league lied habitually throughout the process at every turn. Goodell lied as the commissioner, he lied as the arbitrator, he lied about Bradys testimony under oath, they paid Ted Wells to lie. Ted Wells paid Exponent to lie.
Bull####. All of it.
Thats rich coming from you, the only person I know of that might have even spent 10 minutes reading some of the available information and still accepts the leagues slant.

You've defended Exponent and Wells from day one, literally no one else finds their work credible.
I'm sorry if I missed something. I felt I was relatively thorough in reading all available studies up until the season started, because by then, it was clear there would be no further debunking of the Exponent report within the legal proceedings. It's very possible someone else brought more to the table that I missed.

Throughout the off-season, I felt I was clear that the Exponent study had some flaws. I remember typing that it would not be difficult for another credible lab to replicate the experiments and arrive at different conclusions. In fact I was confident I could do it if I had a quality, calibrated pressure gauge and access to 12 NFL footballs. I found that the Patriots relied on the testimony of an economist as their scientific defense to be damning - with all of the Big Brains of Harvard and MIT in their back yard, and they didn't use an actual scientist to replicate the tests told me that either they were incompetent or the Exponent evidence really was strong. By the way - their economist completely missed the crux of the Exponent paper - he was arguing points that were not important to the overall conclusion.

Now, I suppose it's your turn to link me some credible scientist who used a proper lab and scientific methodology to discredit Exponents work. I'm more than game at continuing this discussion further in the deflate gate thread as to not derail the Manning witch hunt.
They didn't bring in a scientist because they weren't arguing the science, they had already thoroughly poked holes through everything Exponent put to paper, they were at that time arguing the statistics involved, which they brought in a perfectly qualified person for.

As for your 2nd point:

Most recently, Blecker, law school professor files Amicus Curae brief in support of Brady, the Pats and the NFLPA against the league.

Times article on John Leonard, the MIT scientist who teaches a class on deflategate - "I am convinced that no deflation occured and that the Patriots are innocent. It never happened."

Leonard's edited lecture - 15m length

Credit to /u/nkistner for outlining major mistakes in Wells/Exponent analysis - the outlined mistakes have since been endorsed by several professors

Theres more, but the Blecker and Leonard stuff summarize the findings pretty much - the science never supported the league and Exponent was paid to fudge the numbers, which is why they didn't stand up to scrutiny by an economist.

Who are the Pats taking in the first round this year?

Its exhausting to care so much and win so little. I admire your passion as an eagles fan. I felt almost as bad as you did watching McNabb puking in the superbowl. You guys deserved better. And selling out your integrity to root for Vick then seeing the unfulfilled promise of the dream team. And Foles and Chip Kelly. People talk about browns fans and their loyalty to a losing team but I think your fan base has been suckered info believing so many times that for you to stay loyal is an accomplishment. Can't blame you for passionately hating winners. It doesn't seem fair.

You are obsessed with the patriots and there fan base. It's ironic that you don't see this when posting in all these threads. Focus on your eagles 2016 should be exciting for them.

So has he turned over his cell phone yet?
I don't think he has.

At the same time, I don't think Jim Irsay pledged full cooperation with the league in this investigation, then decided not to allow the league to question a person who referred to himself as "the HGHer."

I also don't think Manning has destroyed his cell phone because that is what he does EVERY TIME he gets a new phone, except for his old, un-destroyed phones from before the period of time when his wife received the HGH.

This is less of a deal than when Rodney Harrison was actually busted. If he's found guilty, it'll come and it'll go. This is football, not baseball. PEDs aren't so much a scandal as an expected outcome.

Empty handed my ###.

Yes, they got off on technicalities, but like OJ Simpson, we all know they did it.
From Berman's rulings -

The Award is premised upon several significant legal deficiencies, including:

(A) inadequate notice to Brady of both his potential discipline (four game suspension) and his alleged misconduct;

(B) denial of the opportunity for Brady to examine one of two lead investigators, namely NFL Executive Vice President and General Counsel Jeff Pash; and

© denial of equal access to investigative files, including witness interview notes.

So denying access to a witness and evidence is now a technicality. I guess that's one way to look at it, however due process is the foundation of the judicial system in this country.

Kessler put forth four reasons to for the Judge to overturn the ruling any one of which would be grounds for over turning the ruling. The Judge found enough support in the first reason presented in the legal brief that he didn't even evaluate the other three (one of which dealt with Brady's involvement).

In view of the Court's determinations regarding the inadequacy of notice and discovery afforded to Brady, the Court does not reach Brady's other claims,

We'll never know how the Judge would rule on Brady's involvement but the fact that he was silent on the matter doesn't prove or disprove that Brady was involve. For the NFL to win its current appeal the court would need to first discount Judge Berman's reasoning AND then evaluate the other points by Kessler.

Judges like to rule on as little as possible, so the underlined is hardly odd especially since lawyers always put their best argument first.

The Patriots' locker room guys still deflated footballs on Brady's behest.

The parents of a former Indianapolis anti-aging clinic employee who madehidden-camera accusations about Peyton Manning’s alleged HGH use called 9-1-1 after goons turned up on their doorstep seeking information about their pharmacist son, Charlie Sly.

That’s just one of the revelations in a Washington Post report today in which, for the first time, a Manning spokesperson admits that part of Sly’s story was true: that the Guyer Clinic in Indianapolis did indeed ship drugs to Manning’s houseas alleged by Al-Jazeera America’s documentary and later by the documentary’s producer. Manning had previously called those claims “completely fabricated.” The Manning camp refused to discuss the issue further with the Post, citing Ashley Manning’s medical privacy.

But back to that 9-1-1 call. The Washington Post reports the investigation, which was funded by Peyton Manning, featured two private ##### knocking on Randall and Judith Sly’s door—with one of them, according to the call, falsely claiming to be a cop.

The Washington Post reports Manning’s private investigation into Sly began before the documentary aired, as the network sought responses from those alleged by Sly to have used performance-enhancing drugs. The paper also reports that Al-Jazeera failed to adequately protect the identity of its sources, which led Manning’s camp (led by former George W. Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer) to the Slys’ doorstep. Manning’s spooks refused to reveal their employer to the Slys, according to the Washington Post.

Charlie Sly recanted his claims the next morning in a video filmed at his parents’ dining room table. The private investigators claim they did not impersonate law enforcement officers upon arriving at the house.

Thats a tad bit slanted, don't you think? PI's called goons and spooks.

Yeah, this #### it making me laugh so hard. I'll have to ask my wife (the doctor in the family) what possible reasons / conditions Ashley Manning might have that would require HGH. But I'm absolutely will tell you that she has about 2-3 pkgs a week shipped to the house (about half medical) that I have absolutely NO idea what they are. And if someone made really bad accusations against me or my family, you bet your ### I'd have PI's hired and finding out WTH that persons problem is immediately!

I'm sure the PI's were there to rough the guy up, just like most of the asinine radio jockeys are going on and on about this a.m. Give me ####### break!

Probably, but a the ideal gas law indicates that based on the psi readings at halftime, the Patriots footballs still would have been within legal specs at kickof even after they were deflated by the locker room guys. An equipment rule was likely violated, but science indicates that the Patriots footballs were within specs at kickoff. In other news, Peyton Manning hired goons to intimidate a witness of his PED usage to lie and keep his mouth shut.

With regard to cheating, PED >>>>>>>psi.

I didn't miss anything. Nobody cares about packages being delivered to your house. I was talking about Manning lying about drugs being delivered to HIS house:"the Guyer Clinic in Indianapolis did indeed ship drugs to Mannings houseas alleged by Al-Jazeera Americas documentary and later by the documentarys producer. Manning had previously called those claims completely fabricated."

This story is hysterical. Manning hires a couple of Private Investigators to track down Sly's parents, and the two guys show up unannounced at their doorstep. The parents are so freaked out by this that they call 911. The investigators refuse to reveal who they are working for and voila: The VERY NEXT DAY Sly puts out a video saying this:

“My name is Charles Sly,” he began. “It has come to my attention that the broadcaster Al Jazeera has somehow obtained recordings or communications of me making statements concerning a number of athletes . . . There is no truth to any statement of mine that Al Jazeera plans to air.

...yet Sly doesn't know ANY of the specifics of the documentary.

Nope, nothing fishy here at all.

:lmao:

Manning's "investigators" are now researching the addresses of those in this thread tarnishing his legacy. They will be visiting you all shortly. Expect to be waking in the next few days with severed horseheads in your beds.

It's a crime to impersonate a cop. If a private eye hired by Peyton Manning did that, that private eye's in trouble.

As much as I don't really like Manning he's one guy i can forgive for taking HGH, given his spinal injury - assuming that's when he started taking it.

ETA: He should come clean though (if he did it - which is looking increasingly likely).

one thing i will say in all of this: the "he recanted" thing is meaningless

at the beginning of the whole lance armstrong investigation, a woman who was close to him talked about what he was doing and how everyone was protecting him. when that got printed in an early story about it, she went back on it and said something like "i was in a bad place in my life at that time". and lo and behold,

"A Manning spokesperson admits that part of Slys story was true: that the Guyer Clinic in Indianapolis did indeed ship drugs to Mannings houseas alleged by Al-Jazeera Americas documentary and later by the documentarys producer. Manning had previously called those claims completely fabricated."Why not just admit that hgh was sent to his wife from the start? No need to elaborate on the medical details.
*whoosh* Totally missed it, didn't you? I'll repeat, for those that are reading impaired...."[packages] that I have absolutely NO idea what they are"

Am I the only person in the world who has packages showing up at their house without any idea what they are (or for that matter, really give a crap what they are)??
I didn't miss anything. Nobody cares about packages being delivered to your house. I was talking about Manning lying about drugs being delivered to HIS house:"the Guyer Clinic in Indianapolis did indeed ship drugs to Mannings houseas alleged by Al-Jazeera Americas documentary and later by the documentarys producer. Manning had previously called those claims completely fabricated."
Wow, you're incredibly dense.

Curious why one of the premier athletes in all of sports was using a small local alternative medicine clinic that was in perpetual need of money that it got from a guy who was defrauding the elderly out of their life savings.

Especially when he was facing a potentially career ending neck injury.

And while his wife was ordering hgh from them and having it shipped to their home.

Manning originally admitted going to the place that sent the hgh, but categorically denied it. Then came back and admitted it was true.

I understand double standards and enjoy using them myself from time to time. But come on.

You seem like a nice guy. If I misinterpreted or misread something I truly apologize.

a) I'm not a nice guy. b) it's pretty evident that the post was saying that households often receive packages where someone has no idea what is in them or even that they arrived at all.

c) Rwading much into the story about the PI and the change in Manning's statement says more about you than anything substantive.

I have heard from several sources that it would be easy to tell if the HGH delivered was meant to be taken by a woman or a man depending on what type was sent?

If this is the case I would think it would be fairly easy to figure this out.

I guess I will defer to our resident expert on HGH Juinor NB for his analysis of the situation...

HGH is hgh. There is no male or female version. They could possibly determine who was using it by the amount that was being sent and how frequently.

Thanks, makes sense to me. Assuming that is the case and that information is revealed it's a dose a 220+ lb man would take would that in your opinion be enough proof of guilt that Peyton (not his wife) was taking the stuff?

Absolutely. I'm actually in the camp that I'm leaning about 60/40 that he did take some. My stance has never been denying that fact. It's always been focused on what benefits it gave him.

One thing to keep in mind, hgh comes in powder form in small vials. It doesn't become active until mixed with water. Once you inject water into the vial and mix, it loses potency after about two weeks. But before it's constitued, it can last for over a year. So unless the Mannings were being shipped hgh that was already constituted, it would be nearly impossible to tell how quickly it was being used.

Of course Peyton Manning took HGH. He's a high-profile athlete. They never beat these raps. He did it. Dude had an insta-retirement neck injury. A never-get-strength-back-in-the-arm never-never-ever injury ... and he comes back to still be a top-level QB? Come on.

News flash: Adrian Peterson took a boatload of PEDs to come back from his insta-retire knee injury a few years back, too. They're high-profile athletes -- they do PEDs to beat stuff that caused retirements 20 years ago. All of them, every time.
