The NFL is conducting an investigation of Peyton Manning, HGH delivery (1 Viewer)

The best part of this entire issue is how badly some Pats fans want to connect this to the Brady/Patriots ball inflation fiasco. Pretty much everyone who isn't a Pats fan believe that the organization and Brady deflated the balls to gain a advantage. So, some Pats fans try to justify it by jumping to a conclusion about a very flimsy allegation that Manning used HGH.

On a side note, the Broncos' defense dominated Brady on Sunday and took the AFC championship.
Even if there's nothing to this, I find it strange that an allegation of slightly deflating a ball was 50 times the story during pro bowl week then an allegation about using PEDs is.

I'm quite sure this falls on deaf ears, but there is a significant difference between a team being allegedly caught cheating (again) in an unprecedented manner in the AFCCG, vs an alleged PED violation 4 years ago, where the only 'evidence' hinges on the words of a criminal who has since recanted.

ya, you may be right.

If you're being honest about it, i'm sure the difference between a team going to its sixth superbowl and a hall of fame quarterback on his last legs with one last chance is as big a part of it as any over the top indignation that manifested itself when it was the Patriots of all teams. Totally different media angle.

Too bad, the Broncos finally have a chance to win their first "not while cheating on the salary cap" super bowl and it ends up tainted with PED usage. Maybe next year Brock can get em a clean one.......

Good point; kind of like the Pats finally had a chance to win their first "not while cheating by illegally taping" super bowl and it ended up being tainted by manipulating game balls. Maybe one year Garappolo can win them a clean one.........

also that there are dozens of PED violations a year in a league where neatly all the players are on them. Whereas, the Pats were the first team caught sneaking into a restroom while The Deflator did his thing after ball inspection.

Being fans of a winner doesn't just mean you enjoy watching football more than everyone else. It actually makes you better people. The jealousy and anger that some of you guys feel, this palpable hatred of your betters and hypocritical need to defend behaviors for guys you like and attack them in guys you don't. I used to feel that. I understand what you're going through and I'm sorry you aren't enjoying this kind of sustained success in your own lives. It's incredible.
:lmao:

It never ceases to amaze me. The neuroticism, paranoia, delusions of Boston fans are more legendary than the teams/players/championships. And, the best part about it: inside the Boston bubble, everyone's oblivious to just how ridiculous they are.

One day, college psychology books will have an entire chapter dedicated to them.

Please, just stop.

I'm interested in this topic for a number of reasons, so when new information comes out please bump the thread, but until then please stop the childish bickering. None of you are contributing anything useful to the Shark Pool in this thread. Some of you have been around for awhile and should know better.

Rody

The Top 3 fan bases by size are Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay...the next tier is debatable.
By size or by number. I know we Packer fans tend to the portly side of things, but those Chicagoans and Clevelanders are some rotund boys themselves.

Shark Pool posting is serious business. I will retreat back to the guppy pond.

I understand your negativity and forgive you both. Before we started winning like this we were pretty negative about rival fan bases. When you've been winning this long, everyone sees us as their rival and we really don't have a rival anymore. We're just in different places in our lives. I'm not sure enlightenment is the right word. Maybe unburdened. It's better though. I sincerely hope you guys understand it some day.

Man, I wish we could retroactively apply message boards to super bowl 1 and beyond. It would be fun to see how douchey the fans of all the big dynasties of the past (Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers) were. How big of a train wreck would the Bill's boards be in the early 90s?

These are the same people that kept Ted Kennedy in the Senate for 47 years.

#### Bahhhston.

#### Massachusetts.

Why are we still talking about Tom Brady and the Patriots? They were eliminated last weekend. Patriot fan: shut up. The spotlight is now on Carolina and Denver. If you want to swing from Cam's nuts like a flea so you can have redemption, that is fine. But do so quietly. Nobody wants to hear from you this season. Try again in 2016 when you can keep your crybaby quarterback off his dirty diaper. Its not about you anymore!!!!!!
Your star QB is being investigated for cheating. Deal with it.
Haters going to hate

Everyone just is out to get Denver

Manning is the best ever so that's why the NFL wants to get him

Manning doesn't play for your team so your jealous

Didn't I hit every retort by Patriot fans last season? Funny how the people complaining last season about how unfair things are are the first to jump on Manning this season....

Too bad, the Broncos finally have a chance to win their first "not while cheating on the salary cap" super bowl and it ends up tainted with PED usage. Maybe next year Brock can get em a clean one.......
Yup last team to win a clean one was the GiantsNE - Ball scandal (suck it up he did it)

Sea - Adderal

Bal - Shut the lights off

I don't think any of the Seattle players busted for PEDs played in the SB. Browner was on the team but was suspended indefinitely for recreational drug use.

Ummm...wouldn't that have been more on the NFL or SF?? Ravens were up good before lights went out -- :tinfoilhat:

Sherman did, claimed it was Adderall as if that wasn't a PED.
Nope. Sherman didn't claim Adderall, that was a false report put out around the time. Sherman claimed that the test was compromised, which was proven correct. Sherman has no positive tests for any PEDs on his record, and missed no time.

It's mostly just one person. The rest of Pats fans should not be unfairly grouped with devoured. For the most part they've all been classy in their replies.

Mishandled test, why isn't it procedure to retest in that instance? How many tests are mishandled? Also to the poster above who is comparing this to deflategate, the deflategate thread had over 200 pages going into the superbowl... this has been nothing like deflategate at any level. Not the same kind of backlash, exposure, deception by the league or anything else. Just being ignored by most expecting it to just go away.

Because it's a non-story, Genius.

No more or less than deflategate was, they sank actual resources to make the Pats look bad at every turn and still came up empty handed.

The NFL has no interest in whether Peyton did or didn't take hgh.

If you don't see the difference between a guy that may or may not have taken hgh to come back from an injury, and a team sneaking game balls into a bathroom after the ref inspected them, then there's no hope for you. Also, quit being a caricature of a clueless whiny Pats fan.

Yes, they got off on technicalities, but like OJ Simpson, we all know they did it.

Spoken like someone who didn't actual read anything except the initial completely fictional garbage. The science backs the Pats, the testimony condemns the league. He Pats did nothing.

And Junior needs to learn how to read, that post was in regards to someone else comparing deflategate and this, I said clearly that they aren't even remotely similar. Ffs you guys

You and all the other clowns need to watch this...and the studies done by several other institutions of higher education:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwxXsEltyas

But you wont. You believe what you want to believe.

It's a joke that the NFL isn't doing squat about this. If it was Brady, it would be utter chaos.

Exactly.

Maybe NE needs Stephen Hawking to release his findings on the matter.

But let's not allow the laws of the universe to alter opinions.

The patriots didn't even get off. The judge ruled the league wasn't totally forthright with it's investigation and overturned Brady's suspension. The Pats still lost two draft picks this year. And Kraft is out a million bucks.

You guys are a joke.

The league abandoned the science with the defense that they could punish anyone for anything with no proof, because the science didnt support them. That's why Brady suspension was overturned.

But that ignores that the league lied habitually throughout the process at every turn. Goodell lied as the commissioner, he lied as the arbitrator, he lied about Bradys testimony under oath, they paid Ted Wells to lie. Ted Wells paid Exponent to lie.

So the texts about Brady preferring deflated balls, the locker room manager being called "The Deflator", the destroyed cell phone, and the fact that Kraft paid the fine and lost the picks are all just a lot of coincidences?!?!

Give me a ####### break, Pats fans.

If Aaron Hernandez was your QB, you'd be in here trying to convince us that he is innocent, too.

Review the study and then report back.

Thanks.

Yes all of that is just as suspicious as having hgh delivered from a clinic you visited to your house addressed to your wife with a former employee secretly taped saying that it was for Manning addressed to his wife.

I could care less whether he did it, I care that we are a year removed from deflategate not only do people still not know the facts the league could give a #### less about whether Peyton or anyone else in the league did or didn't do anything.

They have a handful of out of context text messages that were given a slant by Wells when he editorialized his bought and paid for report with the help of the people who ####### paid him to do it - and then refused to let those same people give testimony.

Keep repeating it. Doing so will not make it so, but it will reinforce the belief you need reinforced.

Thats rich coming from you, the only person I know of that might have even spent 10 minutes reading some of the available information and still accepts the leagues slant.

You've defended Exponent and Wells from day one, literally no one else finds their work credible.

I'm sorry if I missed something. I felt I was relatively thorough in reading all available studies up until the season started, because by then, it was clear there would be no further debunking of the Exponent report within the legal proceedings. It's very possible someone else brought more to the table that I missed.

Throughout the off-season, I felt I was clear that the Exponent study had some flaws. I remember typing that it would not be difficult for another credible lab to replicate the experiments and arrive at different conclusions. In fact I was confident I could do it if I had a quality, calibrated pressure gauge and access to 12 NFL footballs. I found that the Patriots relied on the testimony of an economist as their scientific defense to be damning - with all of the Big Brains of Harvard and MIT in their back yard, and they didn't use an actual scientist to replicate the tests told me that either they were incompetent or the Exponent evidence really was strong. By the way - their economist completely missed the crux of the Exponent paper - he was arguing points that were not important to the overall conclusion.

Now, I suppose it's your turn to link me some credible scientist who used a proper lab and scientific methodology to discredit Exponents work. I'm more than game at continuing this discussion further in the deflate gate thread as to not derail the Manning witch hunt.
