The NFL is conducting an investigation of Peyton Manning, HGH delivery (1 Viewer)

Are people actually trying to pin it on the Colts or the Broncos?

If Manning took HGH that was 100% on him. This isn't 2013 when the Broncos and Seahawks were the #1 and #2 biggest PED offenders in the league (like a culture of cheating) - it's one old man trying to overcome a big injury and surgery by breaking the rules.

Even though deflategate was and is bull####, outside of Goodell comparing deflategate to PEDs there is no connection. Until we find out the Colts recommended him to go to that clinic, they have nothing to do with it and the Broncos do have a history of PED usage AFTER chicken parm arrived, it still happened before he was a Bronco. It's easy to say it continued but there is nothing to suggest that from what is in the accusations.
Chicken Parm>>>>Sour grapes

Ok obsessed Pats' fans, IF Peyton did use HGH, how will you possibly prove it?

Seriously, the prescription was for his wife, it was mailed to his wife, and there was no testing done for it at the time.

Unless Peyton says that he took it, is there any way to prove that he did?

To my knowledge, he has not suspiciously destroyed any physical evidence, a la Tom Brady.

Lol destroying his phone, not only is it not illegal he's not obligated to give them his phone.

There's no way to find out if Peyton took his wife's HGH, it's not impossible to find out why his wife took HGH if there is a State investigation into the clinic which there has been talk of.

Very few reasons to be prescribed hgh, fewer that you can have while pregnant. Nothing suspicious about that at all.

Do some research about anti-aging clinics. Or read one of Suzanne Somers' books. HGH is very popular with women these days. Especially ones with disposable income.

I'll look into since this is probably your hundredth post about it, but I highly doubt Suzanne Somer's or anyone with a brain thinks it's a good idea to take HGH while pregnant.

There's a reason why Peyton is so respected. He's earned it by being everything Brady hasn't been.

He's professional and comes across as likeable, not arrogant. He's funny. He's trusted by numerous national companies as a pitchman because he's seen as honest. He's been successfull without the stigma of cheating and rule bending, and he's done things on the up and up. Fans love him and rivals' fans at least like and respect him. If he used HGH - and to this point there's still no reason to believe he did - it pales in comparison to what we already know that the Brady-led Pats did, and it pales in comparison to what they've been accused and investigated on with a flawed investigation process. Reasonable people everywhere looked at the circumstantial evidence and made their own judgements, but there's a good reason why they didn't get the benefit of the doubt. They haven't earned it and don't deserve it. Manning has.

Brady is respected for being one of the greatest QBs to ever play. The debates about talent level and the defenses and coaching he played with compared to Manning have been beaten to death, but Brady will never be on the same level of respect outside of Patriots fans because of the way he did it.

Now you can continue with your :lmao: bull#### and continue your half hearted attempt to justify everything the Patriots have done and been accused of, but at some point you just need to get over it.
To summarize:1. Pedton Manning deserves a pass for cheating because he's likeable and funny.

2. Manning's PED use pales in comparison to what Brady was accused of, even though Goodell himself justified Brady's 4 game suspension by equating it to PED use.
I see what you did there... PEDton Manning... Very clever even if it was (perhaps) not intentionalLet me try one....

Ton Brady (because the m is deflated a bit)
How about this. (JFYI, I have nothing against Brady, but for fun's sake and all, since stupid PUNs or nicknames seem to be all the rage!).Tom Brady excels at throwing the ball in "low pressure" situations. Conversely, when the "pressure increases", he's not so great.

Get it! Aren't we all so ####### clever!
Huh... I get why you're known as that guy... Fits quite nicely
Yeah I guess. Just to be clear, my sarcasm was directed at the the guy you quoted. In other words, I'm on your side. Not sure it that was clear.
A sincere thank you for choosing his side.
:hifive: Nothing personal. Just trying to allay any possible confusion. PEDton, I'm sorry, is... how do the kids say it? Oh that's right: sofa king we Todd ed.

Seems like it was just a year ago when it was Pats fans running around calling everyone else salty haters.

I tend to agree with you. And haven't heard that she was pregnant while she supposedly took it.

I hope that during the course of the Investigation the NFL gets Manning's phone and on it they find txt from Brady related to the best way to deflate a ball, the best way to procure PED's and a confession that he likes it when Giselle uses a strap on. It would be a wonderful lesson to those Pats fans in here with their thinly veiled and pathetic apologist and justification agenda for Brady's actions.

Hey, we get it, you hope that if you can tar someone with sort of similar allegations then you think other fans will join your band wagon. You hope others will form a pact with you that you will accept their excuses if they back yours. Not happening. You have tried it with teams and with players and the fans of those teams have done what you could not, they admitted it was a disappointment to them and accepted the history.

Manning joined the Broncos 3/20/2012. Since that time, the Broncos have had 6 players suspended for PED. This includes Matt Prater who was released immediately afterwards and Wes Welker, but his suspension was lifted with the new policy.

So, technically, that's 5, with one more being released immediately. Is that significantly different than the Pats with 4 over that time frame?

I don't know where this "Broncos and Seahawks most PED use" myth came from, but its simply not true. Over that timespan, the Giants, Rams, Panthers, and Redskins had 8, the Bears had 7, and the Buccs and Vikings also had 6.

Because when you think of cheaters in the NFL, only one team jumps to everyone's mind- The Patriots. So their pathetic fanbase has all these irrelevant facts to throw around, hoping that just one person will think of another team as cheaters. And it fails every time. I would love to get a professional psychologists analysis of the typical Patriot's fan's mental condition. I've never seen anything like it. I don't know if I should laugh at them or be sad for them. These Manning threads are overrun with Pats fans. Why don't the other 31 teams' fans care? lol

It came from reality. In 2013, the year Denver lost to Seattle in the Superbowl - They (Seattle and Denver) led the league in players caught using PEDs.

I'm not suggesting now or ever that it wasn't a league wide issue, I was needling the people in here who keep talking out their necks how NE has some sort of history of cheating. While also agreeing with those who say there is nothing to tie this to any specific team. The link is to Manning.

That right there is the part I'm calling BS on.If you are so sure they led the league in PED suspensions, surely you can name multiple infractors?

Edit: let's start with one...can you name one Bronco suspended for PED in 2013?

Ok, the Broncos led the league in PED in 2012. A few notes:* After Ryan McBean was popped, the Broncos pulled his contract offer and he never played another down for them.

*DJ Williams only started one more game after that and was jettisoned.

* Quentin Saulsberry never played a down in the NFL.

new england had a history of stinking up the joint and then it started cheating and now it has a history of stinking and cheating take that to the bank brohans

Bunch of butt hurt Pats fans are entertaining at the very least.
Says the guy who continuously cried and trolled during the deflategate saga last season. Someone a little bitter that their hero Pedton Manning's legacy will forever be tainted and tarnished?? He's now considered the Barry Bonds of the NFL

It's not surprising that the Broncos signed him either considering their cheating past.
"Barry Bonds", LOL. Keep that dream alive Patsie!

The standard for proof is more probable than not. And there's a pretty good circumstantial case here.It doesn't really matter if he cheated or not he's still one of the greatest to ever play, and his records will be on the books long after people's forget the tarnish.

As far as I know, the circumstantial evidence consists of a statement made by a braggart, which had since been recanted, that Peyton's wife received HGH years ago. There is literally no tangible evidence, or testimony that anyone would find credible. I'm not saying there's no smoke here and that more evidence won't come to light, but there's really not much at all to call this case pretty good.

Peyton's twins were born in March of 2011, his wife wasn't pregnant when he was having his neck surgeries. This site:

http://www.icnr.org/articles/postpregnancy.html

suggests HGH could be used by new mothers to lose pregnancy weight.

The best part of this entire issue is how badly some Pats fans want to connect this to the Brady/Patriots ball inflation fiasco. Pretty much everyone who isn't a Pats fan believe that the organization and Brady deflated the balls to gain a advantage. So, some Pats fans try to justify it by jumping to a conclusion about a very flimsy allegation that Manning used HGH.

On a side note, the Broncos' defense dominated Brady on Sunday and took the AFC championship.

The NFL continues to look like complete idiots.

http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/14652385/mlb-asks-us-anti-doping-agency-help-investigate-al-jazeera-claims

The two groups will not be coordinating with the NFL, however. Two lawyers familiar with the MLB/USADA investigation said the NFL declined to coordinate with the other two organizations. The NFL has begun its own, mostly separate, investigation, although investigators in the two parallel efforts have communicated.

Why not coordinate with MLB & USADA? Instead they will go it alone. It would be awesome if the NFL releases a report that finds nothing on any NFL players and then MLB & USADA release something that implicates a few NFL players.

You were right, I misspoke, the stat I misremembered was - from 2010 to 2013 the Broncos and Seahawks led the league in that span. Source one, two.

A lot of derailing aside, if anything happened I doubt either team had anything to do with it.

One team?? You must live in NY or Colorado or somewhere that the Patriots are overly hated. The Broncos are known as some of the biggest cheaters in the league. They only won their 2 Super Bowls because they cheated and circumvented the salary cap..and got fined a million dollars both times and lost draft picks. Let's also not forget they've had 12 players suspended for PEDs since 2003, and that in 2010 they cheated again and were caught filming a private 49ers practice walk through and got fined 100k. But no, the Patriots are the real cheaters

This is the truth for sure. Inside the basement walls of DBC's moms house.

And if you asked 100 football fans who the biggest cheaters are, 92 of them would say it's the Patriots. And the other eight would be Patriots fans. And you sound like a bitter baby having a tamper tantrum. Everyone's laughing at you. ROFL

Why don't the other 31 teams' fans care? lol
The only part of this worth replying to is the 2010 incident. The coach was Bill Belichick's most prized prodigy, one Josh McDaniels, who was of course fired shortly thereafter. He did indeed cheat. And given how he tried to be Belichick's mirror image in everything else he did during his brief tenure in Denver, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to conclude that this incident, too, was a trick he picked up from his mentor. Now he's back in New England and has yet to receive a single head coaching offer despite all of the "apparent" buzz surrounding him.

The other incidents you brought up have been discussed to death and there really is nothing left to debate. It was a fiscal move that in no way gave Denver any sort of competitive advantage.

if you asked 100 football fans ...

eight would be Patriots fans.
America's team
Are you close to devoured? Can you run him up some tissues?
Bro, I can't keep track of everyone who loves America's team. About 1/12 of all fans according to one expert.
Fairweather fans. They'll disappear just like they were before the last 15 years.

They weren't allowed to host a Monday Night game from 1982-1994. Most of their home games were blacked out. Friends I knew in the area all had a "second team" :lmao:

Where were all these die-hard fans then?

lol. Go figure. There were tons of Steelers fans in the 70's. And 49er fans in the late 80's. And Chicago Bull fans at one time...yawn

LOL yeah it never gave Denver any sort of competitive advantage, that's exactly why they got fined a million dollars and lost draft picks  Just give it up. Everyone knows the only way they win those Super Bowls is by cheating. Only Denver blowhards use the "but they were trying to build a stadium and were short on cash!" excuse. Let's not forget about the Broncos best player on defense either. Von Miller unsuccessfully attempted to corrupt the NFL's drug-testing program with the help of a urine collector before they were caught. Miller originally received a four game suspension, but when he appealed, this information was discovered and it was increased to six games. Cheaters gonna cheat, amirite?? :lmao:

Miller is obviously a better cheater than Tommy Pigtails. He made Brady his b**ch last weekend.

So they represent about 8% of all fans, but they're 80% of all people who give a crap about this Manning story.

So, fines and losing draft picks mean a team got a competitive advantage?

You admit that finally?

So you admit spygate and deflategate were things because the Patriots gained a competitive advantage. Otherwise they wouldn't have been fined or lost draft picks.

Glad you could finally admit that.

Being fans of a winner doesn't just mean you enjoy watching football more than everyone else. It actually makes you better people. The jealousy and anger that some of you guys feel, this palpable hatred of your betters and hypocritical need to defend behaviors for guys you like and attack them in guys you don't. I used to feel that. I understand what you're going through and I'm sorry you aren't enjoying this kind of sustained success in your own lives. It's incredible.

I actually feel bad for you. Your team has been great because a fluke 6th round pick ended up being an all time great. You know he has two years left, maybe. The window is closing fast. And you know that the general perception is that your team has cheated it's way to all the titles. All you want is some validation. But the cheating looms over everything. You know those violations will never go away, so you guys whine and cry about referees, the league, ESPN, Goodell. You guys flood every thread about Steroids. Adderall. Hgh...just praying that you can convince someone that everyone cheats like your team. You guys have become the laughing stock of this board. And every other. All those rings and you're still the most paranoid and bitter fan base in the league. Sad, really.

As far as I know, the circumstantial evidence consists of a statement made by a braggart, which had since been recanted, that Peyton's wife received HGH years ago. There is literally no tangible evidence, or testimony that anyone would find credible.I'm not saying there's no smoke here and that more evidence won't come to light, but there's really not much at all to call this case pretty good.
No dog in the fight. Gotta say, though, that once an athlete gets accused of this kind of stuff ... I can't recall anyone every getting "proven innocent". Maybe that's an issue with not being able to prove a negative, dunno.

You do realize that "general perception" is not at all relevant to anything, right? (and "a fluke 6th round pick" as the reason for their success is an interesting spin on things and almost as ridiculous)
