The Nick Foles era (5 Viewers)

just read vick could be out multiple weeks. at least will see what foles can do.
As a fan I think I'm changing my stance since the team could possible be the best in the division. I ehauseted myself with the QB battle. I just want to win the next few games, stay in 1st place and continue to see who fits and who doesn't. Foles has close to 300 regular season attempts in his career. I don't need another 300 to evaluate him. He is who he is and will likely improve. From a FF perspective, if Foles performs over the next week or two I'm going to try and HC him with Vick where ever I can in dynasty. Vick is the one we should leverage into draft picks, not the capable 24 year old playing on a 3rd round rookie salary for the next few years. You could have 2 starting QBs as late as 2014, both possibly availible at bargain prices. That's a big deal in 14-16 team leagues.
Who's giving you draft picks for a 33 year old runner with mediocre accuracy and a tendency to get hurt at least 2-5 games a season? Especially when he's on a 1 year contract. No the time to move him for draft picks was after 2010 when his stock was at its highest.

eta: Unless of course you were referring to FF dynasty. Still not going to get much there.
Our boy Joe Banner? If you're sitting in first place and sold on Foles, at least for 2013, why not shop Vick for a late pick or two if he won't be back next season. I can see Vick being moved for a conditional late round pick. That makes more business sense than giving up a 24 year old that's playing for peanuts.
You would basically decide that Foles is your future and that Matt Barkley is a capable backup for the rest of the year in the matter of 3 weeks. What do you think is most likely to happen?
I already answered lol. Lets just beat the Bucs man. We'll bet back to this!

Michael Vick said "it's going to be a long road" back to health.

"Right now, still working to get back to it -- get to 100 percent, you know," Vick said Saturday from the team hotel in Tampa. "So it's going to be a long road." Nick Foles is going to start Sunday's game against the Bucs and Vick is certainly no lock to be back for Week 7. It's extremely difficult to predict how hamstring injuries will respond to increased activity.

Several weeks? That's a few games...If Foles wins a few games hell be the starter.

If Foles wins more games than he loses he's not losing his job. Vick was 1-3 as a starter so there's no incentive to go back to him when he's healthy.

If the Eagles win in spite of Foles, I don't think they'll stick with him. If he is one of the main reasons they're winning then he'll keep the job.

This tb def is pretty good. They held drew brees to very average stats a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the eagles def can help put the offense in some good spots. Not really expecting much from Foles today. ..

Foles>Vick
He doesn't fit this offense
Agreed, but you can see how much of a better passer he is. I wish Kelly would adjust his gameplan and use his strengths, this offense could be pretty good.
That was a joke!!!
 I've only been watching half the game. Been flipping back and forth with redzone, I just assumed Kelly was trying to run rollouts and zone-read with him when I wasn't watching when I saw your comment. :P

Vick will start next week watch. The Bucs are a poor team that has quit on their coach. You cant take anything away from 1 game. That said, I will pick up Foles and hold him and keep my fingers crossed but I just dont see them bench vick unless for a season ending injury.

Hard to see Vick starting. Bucs D has been good against some big qbs this year....this was extremely impressive.

lunacy. Vick was 1-3. Foles basically 2-0

Rotoworld:

Nick Foles completed 22-of-31 passes for 296 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, and ran for another score in Sunday's 31-20 win at Tampa.
That's a cool 133.3 passer rating for Foles, who was nothing short of spectacular. He's no Michael Vick, but he scampered for a 4-yard touchdown on a designed quarterback draw early on and consistently beat the Bucs over the top with pretty deep throws. With that, we have a quarterback controversy on our hands in Philly. Even if Vick can get his hamstring to 80 percent by next week's game against the Cowboys, it will be very hard for Chip Kelly to turn his back on Foles.

Related: Michael Vick

Vick may not even be healthy by next week. My guess is Kelly lets him sit again to rest the hammy. Unfortunately for Vick he might not have a job in 2 weeks.

Buy low window has been shut air tight
Especially in dynasty formats.
This is coming from someone that just picked up Foles in my dynasty league and would love for him to take over for Brady on my team. I don't think Foles is the long term answer Kelly is looking for, I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles drafted a quarterback early next year.

I feel the same way which is nothing against Foles. I just think Kelly wants that added dimension of running. However, if Foles keeps playing like this, then he might just force kelly to keep him.

Exactly, I think Foles looks good, but Kelly just strikes me as a Harbaugh type and wants his guy in their no matter how well the other guy is doing.

Kept him on the bench in favor of Rivers. Love Foles, but can't kick myself too much for that call no matter how it turns out

Tremendous value play in fantasy drafts after the Vick sensation last night and likely being named the starter by Kelly. When Vick inevitably gets hurt a few weeks in, Foles will likely put up numbers that will far exceed his draft spot.
I'd like to to give myself a :hifive: but this was too easy.

totally agree with this, which is why - as a last-place team building for 2014 - i am willing to deal him in my keeper league.

If Foles keeps playing this well, he'll come around.

Nick Foles this season: 542 yards, 68.3%, 542 yards, 9.03 YPA 6 TDs, 0 turnovers and 1 rushing TD.

Chip shouldn't be coaching if he can't win with this kind of talent. Unreal numbers.

I'm high on Foles but I wouldn't call those numbers "unreal". Vick had similar numbers over a 7-quarter span earlier in the season.

He does that for another 4 or 5 games and he'll leave Kelly no choice.

I really hope so I really really do.

Back before Tampa started mailing it in. I have a feeling the players want this head coaches head on a platter.

You just did, Mr. Humble.

And it wasn't a hard call.

For anyone who is is doubting Foles' performance, keep in mind that I heard alot about TB's good pass defense before this game, yet he still put up 4 tds.

Moreover, nearly every FBG projection from this sites' "experts" had Foles rated low, around 16th or so. NOBODY here had the cajones to predict this.

The rest of Foles' schedule is fantastic. All Foles' owners need to hope he stays as starter.
