CRISP TENTATIVE RETURN SLATED

Apr. 20, 2006 - 9:10 am et

Coco Crisp is scheduled to have the splint on his injured left finger removed Thursday.

"It’s feeling better. It’s not there. But it’s healing good," Crisp said. "I have a little movement in there. From Day 1, the swelling has gone down. It’s getting closer to normal." Crisp will not join the team on their nine-game road trip, but could potentially return shortly after that.

Terry Francona said Tuesday that he hopes to have Coco Crisp (finger) back when the Red Sox return from their three-city road trip that begins Friday.

''Everybody wants to be out there playing," Crisp said. "I want to get out there as soon as possible and have some fun."

Would certianly be nice to have Crisp back for the short series vs NYY at the end of this road run.

it certainly looked like he went to me C'est la vie... hometown umps I suppse

####... Kazmir's arm hurt. That sucks... hate to see a great young kid like that with arm trouble :(

Nice jack by gomes.

Wake's knuckler has flattened out into a meatball. Hopefully tito is smart enough to get some folks up in the pen...

Boston shouldn't have a prob tacking 2-3 more off TB's tired pen in 3 innings.... but if Wake stays in he's likely giving up a couple more next inning.

Sucks for Kaz. Dammit.
Glad Maddon was smart enough to not listen to the kid and pull him. He's one hell of a young pitcher and there's no sense in him getting hurt over this game...

I agree, but sucks knowing the pen is probably going to implode.Gomes' home run went out of fenway and dented a mini-van.

Just wait till Huff, and Rocco and Lugo and BJ, and Delmon all get back or get here.

:pickle:
Told ya... no cellar for the Rays this year.
 Well, the pitching has to hold up. We'll see. The offense is clearly there.

Nice to see them beat Tavarez around a little.

I f'n hate Tavarez... sadly I enjoyed seeing him get beat around a bit as well.

Nice baserunning there :lmao:

Ty rolled his ankle on that play... he might be a little twisted as well....

UPDATE:

Couple of the best young arms in the game dueling so far tonight.... Burnett vs Beckett. Great start by both guys... both hitting 96-97 on the gun.

Should be a great game to watch... Burnett just struck out the side in the 2nd after a single by Trot and walking Tek. Beckett with 1 K in the first.

Burnett with nearly 70 pitches in the first 3 innings.

Don't forget to welcome Josh!
Aww this is cute. The yankee thread died down after the fell to sub .500 and he thought he'd poke fun at our 3-0 2.54 ERA #2 starter. I'd keep your eyes focused on the homestead kiddo.

:lmao:

Pitch 1 - Foul

Pitch 2 - In play, out(s) recorded

Troy Glaus grounds into double play, shortstop Alex Gonzalez to second baseman Mark Loretta to first baseman J. Snow. Frank Catalanotto out at 2nd.

:banned:

Pitches-strikes: Clement 97-57, Foulke 20-13, Timlin 21-16, Papelbon 15-12, Towers 95-58, Schoeneweis 20-12, Chulk 16-8, Ryan 16-10, Marcum 20-13.

Was just going to bump this :)

Papelbon with save #9.. .still perfect at 0.00 ERA. Ties MLB record for saves by a rookie in his first month (MacDougal '03). Still 1-2 more chances to lock it up.

schilling just barely missed going 5-0. Instead he gets the ND. Ortiz and Manny starting to warm up. Coco on the horizon

The new papelbon jersey was a hit at the bar tonigiht

Authentic Majestic Away Jersey

A Red Sox Papelbon jersey was a hit at a Memphis bar?

Red Sox bar or something?
Not specifically but there's a lot of sox fans that are regulars there (maybe 10-15).. bout half are boston natives and half bandwagoners.Kinda surprised me too...

Tim Wakefield is going up against Cliff Lee

This will be on ESPN for those not paying the big bucks for the package...

 (although I have Extra Innings but I'd prefer ESPN HD over the Indian's announcers)
