The OFFICIAL 2006 Boston Red Sox Thread (2 Viewers)

OMG... Denis Leary and Uncle Tommy are ####### hysterical right now in the booth. They find out Youkilis is Jewish and just start ragging on Mel Gibson and such. It is great.

That was really, really funny."TAKE THAT MEL GIBSON! I HOPE THEY HAVE TV IN REHAB SO YOU CAN SEE OUR JEWISH FIRSTBASEMAN! Mel's going to get out of rehab and say, 'I love the Sox and their Jewish first baseman. Sure you do, Mel. Sure you do."

prediction: sox take 2-3 from detroit. take 3-5 from yankees

yankees split with the oriole's

sox back in front.
Umm no, I dont think soWhen are you gonna face reality and realize that this Sox team, right now, is not very good. Their pitching has sucked all year, Josh Beckett is severely overrated, and Papelbon is starting to pitch like a human being, and now the injuries have crippled them.

:lmao: at Bankee$ fans coming in here saying that their $13 Million player with a .288 avg is better then Boston's $2.75 Million player with a .277 avg.

you are seriously defeated if this is all you have, bro.
Yankees are a 4:1 favorite to make the playoffs at this point, our pitching is suspect and we have been decimated with injuries, do you expect me to put up some act like we are a :IBTL: for the playoffs?

I didn't say that. I just expected more from you. You let me down. It's kind of like I replaced you with Coco Crisp.

That was lame too but, an obvious attempt at humor with no comparison to CoCo while the response was Highly Defensive and filled with obvious agitation with humor no longer present. :D Lame Humor > Lame Defensiveness.

:sigh: It's OK, lil camper. You'll be fine.

Don't you BoSox fans start going all pre-2004 on us just yet. A five game series in Boston is still reason enough to not count the Sox out.
:lmao: ok.Meanwhile Yankees fans are getting all pre-2001 on us, the first time in a long time that they have come close to sniffing a world series and only because they think the Red Sox will not be there to stop them.

hasn't it been the Angels who stop them most of the time?

I will try to use shorter sentences and words with fewer syllables for you, I know it must be hard being special.

You may want to start by giving your definition of "Long Time". Then "Sniffing"....To me, sniffing a World Series is making the playoffs, Winning the Division is even better... So, they clearly Sniffed, and it wasn't long ago at all. AND the Sox only stopped them 1 time....But, OK, try again, with shorter sentences and less syllables and maybe you won't trip over your own words, it could benefit the both of us.

Rotoworld updates

Aug-15

Manager Terry Francona indicated that Tim Wakefield (rib cage) will not start Monday against the Yankees.

Instead, the Red Sox are hoping Wakefield can return a week from Sunday against the Mariners.

Aug-15

Keith Foulke (elbow) underwent an MRI on his injured back Monday, which reportedly showed that the problem is "muscle-based."

"We’re just waiting to see when he can pitch, and we’ll make a decision if he’ll pitch here or does he need to pitch at Triple-A," manager Terry Francona said. "We’re still wait-and-see. That’s all we can do."

Aug-3

Jason Varitek underwent arthroscopic surgery for a cartilage tear in his left knee on Thursday and is expected to begin rehabilitation immediately.

Our guess is that Varitek will come off the DL on Sept. 1, though he might not be able to handle his usual workload then. The Red Sox might pick up Javy Lopez to share time with Doug Mirabelli for now.
