To everyone who faces a team with CJ on it. Sorry.
CJ is going to get about 60 yards and 0 TD's. He will be tackled at the 1 yard line 4 times and come trotting off the field only to give way to lendale having 4 td's on 7 carries for 8 yards.I've started him and need to win my game by 75 points to break the tie for the last playoff spot. 250yds +4 TD's please!
I don't know about ever, but certainly now with White (despite his comments), I don't think Johnson will get enough carries. If he gets 20 carries, it would take nearly 15 yards a carry to break AP's mark. If they get a big lead, White may just pound the ball in the 2nd half.Don't see it...CJ3 isn't the kind of back that will put up those kind of stats, ever.

This statline wouldn't surprise me at all. Warrick Dunn was breaking big runs on these guys. If CJ gets loose there's a pretty good chance he could have a couple long ones.21 carries188 yards2 tds
If he even sniffs 2 bills I will do the sameceo3west said:If this happens I will fly to Alaska and wash your feet.
Knock the rushing totals down to 120 and 1 TD, IMO. Flash owner, and big mancrush here... but expecting a good Titans' lead & Land Whale getting the 20+ carries with the majority in the 2nd half.18 carries @ 8.0 ypc for 144 yds and 2 tds, 4 catches for 38 yds.
Probably. And that includes Marinelli. Not trying to hj this thread, but am I the only one that thinks with the Titans limited offense that the Lions have a chance to shock the world and pull out a close victory? CJ & Keven Smith are playing well and it's in Detroit on Turkey Day. I don't know...........just a strange feeling I've got about this game.![]()
Not out of the realm of possibility and Detroit has surprised before on Thanksgiving Day, but I don't see it here. The Titans are undoubtedly out for blood after being embarrassed at home for their first loss. Not trying to hj this thread, but am I the only one that thinks with the Titans limited offense that the Lions have a chance to shock the world and pull out a close victory? It's a myth that Detroit tends to play well on Thanksgiving. They've won once during the Millen era, and have gotten absolutely stomped a few times. Remember Manning throwing 6 TDs in a little over a half a few years ago?Not trying to hj this thread, but am I the only one that thinks with the Titans limited offense that the Lions have a chance to shock the world and pull out a close victory? We could always hope Lendale can't fit in his uniform after an early Thanksgiving dinner.LenDale White just had a game where he was in for 3 plays.Coach Fisher needs everyone on board for a Super Bowl push. There is no way that Fisher doesn't get White a decent number of carries this week.Chris Johnson will not get enough carries to get close to single game rushing record. The end.![]()
I agree that White might get his share of carries because of his crying, but if CJ is close to the record in the 4th quarter, i think Fisher would give him an opportunity to get it. Fisher is not stupid though, he is not going to risk his best offensive player for a record. Now if Detroit manages to keep the game close, i could see CJ getting 20+ carries. With that said, i dont think CJ will run for more than 200 yards. Although i do think this is the game he breaks a couple long runs. 16 carries, 178 yards, 2 TD's.I personally do not see Chris Johnson coming anywhere near the rushing record for two reasons.a) LenDale White will steal carries and Fisher will give him even more carries than normal because he cried this week ...b) The Titans will have this one wrapped up before the end of the 3rd Quarter and all starters will be resting the pines ...Johnson will simply not get the necessary opportunities to approach this record.
Disgaree.FatDale has 1 TD in his past 4 games, and is averaging a paltry 3.8 YPC this year.He doesn't have the clout to get his own way by crying, ala T.O.I personally do not see Chris Johnson coming anywhere near the rushing record for two reasons.a) LenDale White will steal carries and Fisher will give him even more carries than normal because he cried this week ...
Great response.Great thread.
Isn't it funny, that he wants to get back to the run, when they face DET? EVERYONE gets back to the run vs DET.News: The Titans have proven they can throw the ball when necessary. Now coach Jeff Fisher wants them to go back to what he likes to do best: Run, run, run. "It's not that we didn't remain committed to it or didn't intend to do it, but we were put in a position to pick it up and throw it," Fisher said
Think Henry is inactive but your point remains.it's great when in the first 7 minutes or so you get enough points from your RB like it was a complete game. The more points CJ3 gets from here on is just gravy....sweet. I wouldn't doubt Chris Henry gets the 2nd half carries if it's a blowout...and it's looking like it will be.
But he only needs 8 more carries!Good call - but the Lions are so patheticthat they won't need to use him that way now.
Of course this was going to happen..White was crying all week for more touches.. since Johnson put this game outtta touch in first ten minutes of first quarter ..White got his wish..but did indeed prove he can't get a first down running..he did it only once in the game..even had what minus 17 yards rushing around that... That team knows who to go to at the proper times, thats why they are 11-1.he'll have to do better than 6 yards in the second half next time he wants to break the record ... lol. at 35-10 at the half, you knew it wasn't happening, though. no way they were going to use johnson to run the clock in the second half.that's why they have lenwhale.
That's too bad too. It would have been a good game for them to give him some carries just to see. Other than to stop his crying, is there any reason White has to be out there running the ball with a 4 TD lead?Chris Henry is inactive. link
Just for the record Dillon put up I think 280 to beat Payton's old record, then Jamal Lewis in like 2002/2003 with 295 and the AD put up 296 last year not sure on the yardages and seasonBob Magaw said:johnson is extremely talented, & anything is possible (though for several reasons already delineated above, probably not today)...
if we were to compare him to AD (who did break the record last year in HIS rookie season), while point taken that johnson probably is faster & more explosive, AD is also pretty impressive in those categories, yet is bigger, stronger & better at breaking tackles, & is imo therefor the better COMBO of size/strength/speed/moves & superior OVERALL talent...
& to clarify, its possible, if johnson plays a poor enough tackling team, & gets the opportunity to to break 4-5 60 yard runs... this wouldn't seem likely, but i think that was a given to begin with...
i THINK AD broke the record set by corey dillon (set about a decade ago, give or take a few years, without referencing)... he wasn't nearly as fast as either AD or johnson, but like AD, he was very strong, had tremendous contact balance & barbaric tackle breaking ability...
i agree johnson is more than JUST a speed back, & has displayed impressive balance, elusiveness & open field running ability... i just need to see a little more of his power & tackle breaking ability before anointing him the next great back (he has also had some clunkers this season, though probably not against teams as bad as the lions, getting back to the OP's point)...
