The Official Kicker (K) Thread (3 Viewers)

my rookie Kicker Reichard missed his first two kicks Week 9 and went on IR

guess I'll try the Jake Bates DET experience next

Chad Ryland ARI has been coming on lately - b2b weeks with a 50 yarder, another + matchup Week 10

but Prater is coming off IR soon so this week is probably the last time you could use him
Is Moody available? If so get him.

nope
Chris Boswell has been money 💰. I've had him since wk 1. Tomlinson is a conservative coach as well so that helps.

I picked up Aubrey to cover Boswell (had to cut him) and seriously considering picking him back up again
How was Aubrey on your waiver wire ? He was #1 kicker at that time now Dak getting hurt as me worried still going to roll with him though.

I went back to Boswell, Dallas are a dumpster fire. Aubrey will still be fine though, probably one of the few reliable components of that offense

Aubrey clearly the best kicker in the league it all comes down to how much Dallas can move the offense after this week they have a nice schedule.

Key is they don't get behind so far they won't go for the FG and also actually being able to move in FG range.

It sucks I have Aubrey on 30 teams

That's been a big problem at times, even going for 2 pointers instead of extra points because they're so far behind, that kills you. He's a great kicker though.

Lots of kickers injured this year seems to be a trend lately back in the 90s or early 2000's I don't remember this many kicker injuries

I like John Parker Romo. Have Will Reichard in an IR spot. Tempting...

But rolling with Jake Bates this week.
I’ve got Bates as well, last week was great. But going for it on 4th…going for 2 instead of x point..seems like he could be taken out of opportunities with Campbell.

Sticking with Bates. Low volume - only one team has fewer FGA because the offense is so efficient, but he’s 100% on the 15 he’s tried, offers the allure of longer FGs +40/+50, has only missed one PAT, and has the confidence of his HC/team. Could see them giving slightly more chances down the stretch.

Surprisingly, Dan Campbell is middle of the pack in 4th down attempts + only has gone for two once. He often relies on Mr Jack Fox to flip the field or pin the other team. But he has sort of managed Jake’s confidence, not putting him in high leverage situations too early.

Of late MCDC has been more dependent on just taking the points. Alternatively, I’m inventing a narrative to justify my decision so just leave me be lol.

Boswell all the way now. I had Aubrey for a week but flipped back after his bye. Aubrey can bang them in from 60+ but missed from 40 last night.

Jelly of the Boswell/Audrey owners. Audrey was K1 in our draft but Boswell sat on the WW for half the season. Career year.

Think I picked him up week 2 (drafted Elliott) after he wasn't even drafted. Automatic from pretty much anywhere and although a lot of people in the FF community hate kickers and want rid of them, has to be said having a good one that can put up 12+ on a regular basis is gold.

What are the Aubrey owners doing now? Granted he easily could have had 11 more points last night (made 64 yarder where Dallas took the penalty instead and the one that hit the uprights). Aubrey himself is great but I just see them getting down early and having to chase points (if they can get them) and expect they'll put in Lance at some point. Have not looked yet to see what is even out there. I held Aubrey thru the bye not even picking up another kicker but wondering if I need to grab someone on a better offense (if they are out there).

Getting into that time of year where you're gonna want kickers going in domes. I've generally played rent-a-kicker in all of my redraft leagues every week.

Looking at Seibert, who I can't believe is a FA, in one league (even though he'll be kicking outdoors) as he should have plenty of chances against Dallas.

Sticking with Bates in another, as he's in a dome against a defense that yields a lot of points to PKs (Indy).

And finally, in another, sticking with Karty in a dome against another team that yields a lot of points to PKs (Saints).

Isn't he hurt?

Out the last two games, so it makes sense he's a FA. But with 10 days rest since WAS played on Thursday, he might be a go this week if his hip is healed up. If not, it'll be Zane Gonzales.

I tried to get some Boswell shares weeks ago but was outbid. The guy hits FGs in a windy/cold weather stadium like it's nothing, including 50+.

Congrats to those who snagged him.

I had Moody then Seifert until he got hurt. Picked up Bass and now back to Seifert. Count me in as someone that loves having the kicker position in Fantasy Football Leagues.

Dropped before the Purdy news.

Could be trailing, in GB weather, has been mediocre at best anyway.

I think Lutz is the pick as I said before. Had 13 points against LV a few weeks ago. Offense has improved, Nix playing well, LV D stinks but pass offense just good enough to maybe slow them down in the redzone, plus DEN D could give the offense more opportunities. Could be a blowout.

I usually drop my kicker every week. Not this week. Sticking with Lutz.

Denver seems like the perfect environment for kickers. Mile high. DEN offense is improving, but they're young enough that they screw up in the redzone. And their D is stout and provides the offense more opportunities.

Solid read man. I hate kickers. I still have a league with one and I gotta win out for a chance at playoffs. I got McLaughlin now. You may have convinced me to make a switch here. Hmmmm

Shrader not practicing for KC due to hammy, so they signed Matthew Wright to practice squad.

Seibert didn't look great in his first game back from injury. Wright's been out since week 6 but presumably he's much more healed up and isn't being rushed back. If Shrader can't go on Friday I may be tempted to pivot, the weather in Buffalo doesn't seem kicker-positive for Bass at the moment and I don't know if I want to wait until Sunday to see if it clears up.

So as an aside, kind of enjoying the week of games spread out so much with multiple Thursday games, a Friday game, Sunday and Monday night... lots of roster strategy to close out the season.
