Favre vs. Manning will dominate the headlines all week.

The Packers blasted the Giants in the meeting this season but the Giants are playing great ball of late. Green Bay being at Lambeau is huge and might be the difference in the game.

All of the sentiment will ride with Favre as he tries to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time in 11 seasons. Can the Giants overcome all of that and spring the upset?

Discuss.

I don't think the G-men can hang with GB at Lambeau. They are more quipped to handle the weather there than SEA was. Still, I think GB wins it.

Gmen are playing with house money now. Its incredible what they've done on the road this year.

I'm just tagging along for the ride :hifive:

This is going to be a fantastic game. The Giants will give us a much better challenge than the Hawks did because they know how to play in the bad weather. Gonna be another fun one next week...Temps are suppose to be around zero it looks like at this point..

The Gmen defensive backs will be in major trouble against the Packers WR.

Great game next week with two of the oldest franchises in the NFL. Lombardi came from the Giants also.

Go Pack GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Favre leading the Pack against Brady and the Patriots will be a Super Bowl for the ages....

Weather forecast for next Sunday -- High of 4 degrees. With a late game should be even colder.
12 mph wind should make it feel like -10 or so...BRRRRR...
This will be an awesome game. FBG party in GB next weekend?
I'm game. Give me the time and place..Assuming I have the day off from work I'd come on up...
Im guessing theres not many Packer fans in NY for a FBG party here. Im on my own.

Remember when the Ryan Grant trade looked like a good deal for the Giants? Now it may cost them a trip to the Super Bowl. Should be another great game!

This year has been unreal. I still cannot believe the Packers are playing in this game and if we do get to the Superbowl, I will not believe that. 10-6 with maybe a wildcard berth was all the expectation I had... this is unreal.

Giants are playng with 0 pressure right now. I think they will give GB a much better game than SEA did Saturday. The Giants can run whereas Seattle was one-dimensional.

Go Big Blue!!

I had them at 7-9 going into preseason...8-8 going into the regular season when I did some picks game by game.I think both teams are playing on some house money at this point.

The single most important factor to remember re: the Giants and Green Bay is Favre. Every game you have a 5% chance that "evil favre" shoes his head. The Giants definately have the ability to get a pass rush. While GB is a far better team and should run over the Giants (who could not stop Barber for most of this game and were about as bad on Third down through 3 quarters as I have seen in recent memory), Favre has shown that with all his greatness, he can and has single handedly lost games.

The Giants do have a defense that can force Favre into stupid mistakes. It is not likely, but it is definately possible (and yes I am a Giants homer, but Favre's disaster games are well documented).

I see no way SD has any chance.

If we end up getting blown out, fine, but I do not want another 4th and 26 game. That was our year and while I do not get the same feeling this year as I did that year... I cannot handle that disappointment again. Anything more from here on out is gravy. Man, I want that Superbowl this year though.

I've been saying this all week, and it's worth repeating. It's not pressure that forces Favre's hand, it's feeling like he has to do it himself. If Green Bay has a lead in this game early, you won't see risky throws and mistakes. When Green Bay is ahead, Favre plays within the scheme. After all, the NFC leading sack man came to Lambeau last week and did not register a single defensive stat.

New York definitely has a good running game, but their WR corps isn't very deep or that intimidating. Toomer was impressive today, but Plaxico was shut down. I think the GB secondary will be able to hold their own and help against the running game.

Strahan, et al will definitely be bringing the pressure and I think that is their best chance for an upset. Favre will have to continue his improved game management and not force things. That 201 yard game by Grant further cements Favre's confidence in him (especially given the early fumbles).

I think it will be a good game early, but the Packers pull away in the 4th quarter.

27-17 Green Bay

It's the 5% rule. In 5% of the games he just seems to go nuts. I don't think it will happen, but to discount it would be to ignore the guys history.Of course, Eli has a 25% rule and in the other 75% doesnt exactly Favre it up...

Yep..10-6 and I saw a few 8-8's out there before the season began. Remember around draft time when so many people were calling for TT's head? Wow how times have changed..

I want the Superbowl too, but aren't you a bit scared Favre rides off into the sunset if it happens? I'm not ready (and never will be) for LAF. Life after Favre..

I doubt he does even if they win, I just think he has too much desire to play the game. But IF he does and it's because GB won the Superbowl, I for one would certainly be ready for that to happen.

I have prepared myself for some misery after Favre leaves... thats a given. But, I don't see a Superbowl in the future without Favre so if this has to be a final hoorah, I am all for it. Expectations were low for this year so this is fantastic. If Favre stays the expectations will be high next year but if he goes they will be less. Torn both ways but I am ready to trade a Superbowl if it means Favre goes as well.

There would be as much incentive for Favre to come back and repeat as there would be sentiment to retire on top. He has said that this is as much fun as he has ever had playing football - he won't want that to end.

Ive heard....how early we talking here? Like 5-6hrs? Heard they turn you away if you get there too late.

Favre is not worried about his image imo. Certainly not in a manner that would determine if he goes out or not. Favre is having fun. More fun than he has in probably a decade. If he thinks he will enjoy next year, as say the defending champion with a still young team and a chance to go back to back why wouldn't he return?Favre seems to be at a place where he loves his job enough and obviously his family is supportive enough since he plans to come back anyway - the fun factor and him wanting to be out there will play major roles.

Especially after losing Jolly and Cole to the IR...probably a pretty good thing to have Harrell right now rather than Greg Olsen or Robert Meachum (or one of the other rookies that did not do a whole lot this year that people thought GB should take)
