I’m a pretty fair talent evaluator. I like how the Rams are built. Woods is a big loss for them & me, but they’re a deep team. I loaded up on Stafford, Henderson & traded for Woods this year. Great chance at a SB run.
Thanks dawg. Admittedly a brazen and shameless violation of the Code. It's a victory lap, but we'll allow it. Pretty prescient.
One led his team to more wins and an actual playoff win. The other is Matt Stafford. One is a leader of men.
The other is Jay Cutler.
Their stats don’t make them the same.
Sorry, but Jay Cutler had perhaps the worst body language of any QB in history. None more pouty in a loss. Not even Eli’s slumped shoulder stink face after a pick. One led his team to more wins and an actual playoff win. The other is Matt Stafford.
If winning a playoff game is your criteria for greatness, then surely you'd take Tim Tebow over Stafford as well. One led his team to more wins and an actual playoff win. The other is Matt Stafford.
Comparing the greatest QBs in the history of the Lions and Bears franchises is like comparing which pile of dung is better.I used to think the same thing. But just take a quick look at their career stats over 12 years. Cutler retired after 12 years, Stafford is now in year 13 with the Rams. Stafford played on Lions teams where he had significantly more pass attempts (33% more) as they were usually losing. That resulted in a corresponding increase in yards and TDs per game. But when you break it down by efficiency, they are pretty much the same QB, just like Deion said. Cutler threw slightly more picks per game but otherwise they are eerily similar.
12 years: Cutler (DEN/CHI/MIA) | Stafford (DET)
Games: 153 | 165
Comp %: 62 | 62.5
TD %: 4.6 | 4.7
Y/A: 7.1 | 7.2
Y/C: 11.5 | 11.6
1st %: 34.33 | 35.5
INT %: 3.3 | 2.3
No and I would take Stafford over Cutler as well. But he's less than 1% better than Cutler. It's that close when you look at their actual efficiency numbers. And if a younger Cutler was on the Rams right now, he would be putting up the same numbers. If winning a playoff game is your criteria for greatness, then surely you'd take Tim Tebow over Stafford as well.
That's fair. I won't argue with that.Comparing the greatest QBs in the history of the Lions and Bears franchises is like comparing which pile of dung is better.
This might be the biggest QB disagreement we could have. 2021 Wilson is 3x the QB Stafford is. I'd argue 2021 Russell Wilson is the best player in the NFL, nobody carries their team more than Wilson.
ETA: Guy is gone for a month, and it's like out of sight out of mind. Seattle is 5-3 at worst, if Wilson doesn't get hurt.

We can agree to disagree.
What do you think?
