***The rookie hype has begun*** (1 Viewer)

Just paid through the nose for the 1.1. I gave up Laurence Maroney, Lee Evans, and 1.7 pick. However, I think I could afford to overpay. I have a strong WR corps and I didn't care about 1.7. For me this basically boiled down to Maroney vs AP/Calvin Johnson. I like the latter 2 guys better.
you could have almost had lt2 for that...
Got an offer for the 1.1 I acquired. A guy offered the 1.3, 1.5, and DeAngelo Williams for 1.1
Man, why can't I get crazy offers like that.

I have this offer on the table right now, trying to decide...

for

Delhomme, Benson, Walker, 1.4, Bills D, 2008 3rd rounder.

Not sure what you are giving or getting, but I'd much rather have Carson Palmer, Adrian Peterson and the Bears D...it's not even close.

My continuing attempts to get out of 1.4...

I offered 1.4 for Michael Turner. He rejected.

He countered with Michael Turner, 4.8, 5.8, 6.8 for 1.4 and 2.4. I rejected (I have more picks than I need as is).

I offered 1.4 and 2.10 for Michael Turner and 4.8. He rejected.

I just offered this:

I give:

Darrell Jackson

1.5

I get:

1.1

We'll see if he goes for it. Jackson is my 3rd WR in a start two so I feel I can move him. I'm ok if he doesn't go for the deal because the position that I need is QB, so I am in line for one of the two QBs.

I would be shocked if he, or anyone, made that deal. You are basically offering Jackson and a rookie wr or a rokkie QB (likely going to Oakland) for Adrian Peterson.

This trade just took place in my dynasty league.

Team A trades Chambers, 1.02, 2.02

for

Team B trades Jacobs, V.Davis, 1.05

I did this deal last week to get the #1. Vernon Davis was a throw-in for him since he was looking to cut a TE (he had three).

Houston Oilers gave up Davis, Vernon SFO TE

Denton Demons gave up Morency, Vernand GBP RB;Smith, Steve CAR WR

Comments: 2007 #1 to Demons, Demons 2008 first round pick to Houston.

what do you think of this one?

Owner A gets 1:04 and 1:12.

Owner A would then have 1:01, 1:04, 1:12 and 2:05. Owner A does not need a QB (Russel or Quinn) at 1:04 and would now need to get a WR to replace Boldin (CJ2 would be gone). Chad is currently WR1 with a big drop off w/ Boldin's departure. WR2 after Boldin would be between Brandon Marshall, Hagan or DBennett. Owner A will be taking AD with 1:01.

Owner B gets: Boldin

Owner B is WR-poor and needs immediate help.

Today I got offered (from a pretty active FBG member):

Ahman Green & Lee Evans

for

Jerious Norwood & 1.2

I turned it down because I feel Norwood > Green and the 1.2 > Evans.

A few weeks ago I offered him the 1.2 for Chad Johnson and got a reply "shouldn't something else be included in this offer" so that never materialized. IMO, if I'm offering up the best WR prospect in years, I'm going to need a stud WR or a decent RB in return.

Boldin for the 1.4 & 1.12 seems like a great deal for Team B to me.

In a start 1/2 RB, 2/3 WR PPR IDP league:1.01 wanted Benson and Lee Evans. I asked him if he wanted me to throw Fitz in as well.Holt couldn't get 1.02.Cutler, 2 good IDPs and 1.14 couldn't get 1.03.Sorry, let someone else be that sucker.

The other owner was right and coherent about rookie fever.
Ya, I agree with that. Calvin will probably be as good as CJ but CJ has already proven it and the other is a rookie. It was worth a shot though, and not TOO far off in value IMO, especially if it was a team that really needed a RB. He's stocked at RB though.

New Orleans Saints gave up Year 2007 Draft Pick 2.10;Year 2007 Draft Pick 3.10;Year 2007 Draft Pick 4.10; Year 2008 Round 1 Draft Pick from New Orleans SaintsArizona Cardinals gave up Year 2007 Draft Pick 1.02;Year 2007 Draft Pick 7.07
10 team, full IDP, staggered PPRs...the owner the number 1 claims that he is taking Calvin Johnson. The saints are defending champions so pick 20,30,40 and 2008 1 for picks 2 and 67.

Just got offered 1.8, 2.7, 2.8 for my 1.2 in a 12 team PPR.

I'm going to decline and go with quality over quantity even though this is a deep draft.

I offered DWill, T Jones, 1.7 and 1.10 for 1.1 and have not had an answer yet.

I still will have Addai and Portis at RB. ADP as a #3 RB would be $$$$$

3 keep + Rookie(can keep player drafted as rookie each year instead of drafting a new one)

Gave up Maroney, McGahee for 1.2.

1.2 became Adrian Peterson (CJ went first .75 ppr)

Keeping SJAX, Bush, Fitz

Hoping Minnesota

that's alot for the 1.1. i wouldn't do it.
I can only start 3 RB's and would rather have 3 studs than have to try to pick between matchups for my #3 RB. I don't see me drafting a player at 1.7 that will have an impact right now. My WR's are pretty solid with S Smith, Evans, and Moss. My QB is Leinart and I don't think the top 2 QB's will make it to me at 1.7. I can build my depth but not really upgrade at any position unless I make a big trade.

Here is another one that crossed my desk. ZF league:I give: 1.01I get: Driver, 4.12, 2008 1st, 2008 3rd:thumbup:
Finally came to terms with someone and traded this pick.I give 1.01, 3.01I get 1.04, 2.10, 2008 1st.
I'm the counterparty on this one. I felt as though I was a running back away from winning it all last year (I was the second-highest scoring team in the league, despite starting J.Jones & M.Barber as my two running backs almost all of last year). I could have stuck at 1.4 and drafted B.Jackson, but I felt like I needed to move up to get Adrian Peterson.

I'd have kept the 1.01 and it's not even that close.
Eh. I'm not buying the AD hype, Minny has a decent back that's going to take some carries in addition to a massively raw and inexperienced passing attack. Where are defenses going to focus? I'm sure he'll be good, but I don't see the LT-level upside.

In a keep 14 (see sig) I just gave up the 1.05 and Lee Evans and next year's 1st for the 1.01 and took Peterson on draft day. FWIW, I don't expect at all to be picking in the top 5 next year.

Rejected the following for the 1.01:

Jones, Greg JAC RB

Robinson, Michael SFO RB

Burress, Plaxico NYG WR

2008 Round 1 Draft Pick

In a 14 team dynasty league, I recently traded Brandon Marshall for rookie pick 1.10. Then traded rookie picks 1.07, 1.10 and 2.04 for 1.02 and 2.02.

I traded: Fatdale White, Stallworth, & Cutler for 1.3, Schaub, & 2008 2nd round pick.

With Manning & Vick as my QB's I could afford to let Cutler go. Was hoping Calvin Johnson would slip to 1.3 but had to settle with Lynch.

Just made a verbal deal to move Colston straight up for the 1.2. It's contingent on CJ going at 1.1 which it sounds like he will in my league. I'll then snatch ADP at 1.2 and rejoice!!! Hope all goes according to plan...

This one went down in a 12 team dynasty PPR:

Mike Vick

1.05

2008 2nd

2009 1st

1.02

2.11

Basically Vick, 1.05, and a 2009 1st for 1.02.

Recent "top-tier" rookie RB prospects:

Willis McGahee

Larry Johnson

Kevin Jones

Steven Jackson

Carnell Williams

Ronnie Brown

Cedric Benson

Reggie Bush

Lawrence Maroney

DeAngelo Williams

Recent "second tier" RB prospects

Tatum Bell

Chris Perry

Frank Gore

Maurice Jones-Drew (maybe third tier)

That's a pretty good track record in the top tier. I think it's pretty hard to find the diamonds in the rough (MJD, Gore), but the top picks are usually pretty valuable.

I would personally be happy to trade Reggie Wayne and Tom Brady for Adrian Peterson. They are solid players who can round out a good team, but a stud RB can single-handedly win championships.
These short lists are why I think the 08 NFL Draft will put out the best amount of quality RB's ever.

I recently offered 1.04 and 1.05 for 1.02 and 1.09 and was promptly turned down.

I'm thinking I'm going to find a way to sweeten the pot as the draft draws nearer.

I'm just debating how bad I want it since I could use help at QB, RB, and WR so picking Jackson and Russel wouldn't be too bad of a deal for me.

You didn't offer any incentive to move down. The drop from 2 to 4 is bigger than the drop from 5 to 9.Rookie picks 5 through 15 are all roughly the same value depending upon specific players you like.
