We are all getting older. Even as FBGs, we get tired a little earlier, we lift a little less weight, our wives get to be a little bit fatter supermodels.

What is your secret supplement? What vitamin or supplement or food did you start ingesting that made you feel noticeably better in one way or another?

Glucosamine for the creaky feeling after morning runs. Fish oil for many great things.

These, plus Red Rice Yeast as a natural statin. I've punished my body over the last 15 years+ with running and tris and everything is holding up well and the red rice yeast has my annual physical cholesterol number right where they need to be (and I really don't eat or drink all that well).

Most Americans are chronically dehydrated. Drink another quart of water in the morning.

Get more sleep. ( Most people don't get enough sleep)

Fast one day a week, every other week

Eat more garlic, honey, lemon, limes and occasionally take a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar.

As one ages, HIIT becomes critical ( High Intensity Interval Training) during workouts. Bring a kettlebell into your office and you can do short workouts during your lunch hour just with a kettlebell. I own three Concept 2 Rowing machines and I think they are the best investment I've made given the return for the money. Instead of sitting in front of your TV with a beer in your hand, row instead.

People who swim and dance regularly tend to, by my observation, have better long term sustained health.

Eating a mostly raw foods diet ( i.e the Paleo Blueprint) will likely make a major difference.

Go visit a third world country and see how other people barely get by in life. Go visit a children's cancer ward. Go spend a weekend volunteering at a soup kitchen. Go read to someone stuck in a long term care facility who don't have any family.

It's just hard work. That's all there is and that's all there ever will be. Women have choices, men have responsibilities. Act accordingly. You are a whiner and you are ungrateful. Doubt there is anything to fix the whiner part, but you can do things to help yourself have more gratitude for the things you do have.
So, B12?

echo on fish oil, can't say enough good things about it. make sure you get one with the highest ratio of EPA and DHA to total fish oil. it will typically say, for example, "1200 mg, 300 mg omega-3". that's a pretty low ratio. what I have right now is ~950 mg omega-3s to 1300 mg fish oil.

Agreed. No idea why GG gets so much hate.

This is the first Gekko post I made it all the way through. It's also fairly spot on.

One thing I'll add - meditation. You don't have to get religious about it, but learning a method to stop for 15 minutes each morning and take some perspective by slowing the world down - this helps with stress enormously.

:goodposting:

Just ordered some Red Yeast Rice based off this thread.

Without d3 I'm a disaster in the winter months.

B12, d3 I definitely agree.

I've taken fish oil before but never really "felt" any better.. I may revisit that one.
