A Republican president put his presidency on the line to end the great social injustice of slavery.
This is what I'm talking about. Why should it matter if Republicans ended slavery, or some Republicans were for slavery, or Democrats were pro slavery? Why isn't it enough that a great social injustice was defeated?
We have to become the generation of information. We have to be the generation that educates our brothers and sisters. We have to stop shouting and start talking.
Fifty years ago there was an idea revolution that we sadly lost in a cloud of cocaine and disco music. They fought against the government forcing young men against their will to fight in a war they didn't want to be a part of (unless you were one of the privileged who got a "waiver"). Today I fight against the government forcing us to purchase a commercial product we don't necessarily want or need (unless you are one of the privileged who get a "waiver"). Not exactly the same thing, obviously, but the struggle against a powerful government forcing us to do things that don't seem right will always allow us to tap into the
