but...saturday morning!

The networks ran their most popular shows on Friday and Saturday nights.
I always thought Saturday Nights were TV dead zones because they expect everyone to be out.
That's what I thought, too. Especially in the 1970s, but I could well be wrong about it. Sunday nights seemed to be the biggest nights.
IIRC Saturday nights were big too - back to back Love Boat and Fantasy Island for one. At least I think that was Saturday.

I think a big reason Bugs Bunny still holds up so well is the humor factor. Very clever lines even if a lot of it relates to decades ago events.

A lot of those lines went over my head when I was a kid - much related to physical things like Daffy Duck getting his beak shot off every which way.

I've rewatched the series several times, and it still holds up for me. Spike and Drusilla especially. And there's talk of a reboot that includes Geller.

Obviously this resonated with me given how big of a music fan I am, but it was also exceptionally well-written by '70s sitcom standards and is another case of a set of characters that I just want to hang out with. It was fascinating how the show was designed with Andy as the main character but the producers quickly realized that all of the other characters were more interesting and featured them accordingly.

This show was my obsession for a few years. It was hilarious and rang true. And took the p!ss out of everything. The movie was great too.

I don't think I have heard a movie theater crowd cheer louder than when Beavis said "I am the Great Cornholio!!!!!!!!!!!!"

One of my friends' bands had a song that was basically an extended funk jam they could take in any direction. Sometimes they would steer it into "Business Time." And that's how I heard of Flight of the Conchords for the first time.

Even the movie that came out a couple years ago was worth a few laughs.

A big portion of the greatness of Beavis and Butthead was them bagging on the music videos.
One of my favorite lines ever from B&B was when some new wave 80's music video was playing and it cuts to Butthead and his eyes are real big and just says "What the hell is this crap!" as if he can't believe such a thing ever existed. My sister and I laughed so hard we were crying.

The Foo Fighters video slayed me

"Hey, that's that dude from Nirvarna."

"Um, Butthead, I don't think that dude's 'with us' anymore."

"I'm talking about the drummer, dumb###!"

"I've never seen that drummer before in my life!"
The one that sticks in my head to this day is the Eddie Money video. "whoa, how they make that sound with his mouth??" :lmao:
