Ozark was pretty entertaining, but a little too insane for me to rank it higher than 31.

So about the name....
The Ozark Mountains is a plateau and hilly region (not really mountains) primarily in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas.

I grew up and currently live in a town named Ozark, MO that is basically a suburb of Springfield. There is also an Ozark, AR (never been there, but it exists).

Then there is the Lake of the Ozarks, which is at the northern end of the Ozark Mountains. The lake is about a 2.5 hour drive from where I live and the show is based on the area around Lake of the Ozarks. It was actually filmed in Georgia because Missouri was too stupid to give them any tax benefits or preferential treatment to film it around the actual lake.

I have probably explained all of this a dozen times when people say something about me living in the same town as the show. I've been to the lake many times, but it is actually about 100 miles from here.
And the origin of one of my favorite songs of the 1970s:

@Scoresman any chance of a rundown as to who has the most or least 25 shows left?

I can confidently predict 16 of the 25 remaining.
Well, 3 of the 4 today were not in my 16. So i can confidently predict 15 of the 21 left
All 3 today were expected, so can confidently predict 12 of the 18 left. Thats pretty poor. No idea what the other 6 are

I’ve got a list of 19 shows and I feel confident it contains the 18 left - I can’t figure out the one left out. It’s either a big omission in the top 300 or is left out on a “technicality”.

nope, never heard that but I am newer here than most of you.

there is also a

Ozark - Oklahoma
Ozark - Ohio
Ozark - North Carolina
Ozark - Mississippi
Ozark - Michigan
Ozark - Kentucky
Ozark - Iowa
Ozark - Illinois
Ozark - Alabama

and you are right that most of it was filmed in GA but IMDB still says that part of it was filmed in/on Bagnell Dam Strip. Though maybe they were just establishing shots or something.
I knew about the Alabama one. Didn't know the rest.

There's probably something to this, though the laugh track line also matters a lot.
It’s interesting how most of us didn’t even realize there was a laugh track until there was none. Not sure which was the first one to go without it.

It’s pretty ridiculous now to think about it - playing this clip several times without any visual reinforces it.
It felt like it was NBC - Office, 30 Rock, Scrubs, Parks and Rec. Arrested Development too. You know what, though? It might have been the Simpsons and animated comedy shows in general that got us ready to ditch it.

Never seen it. How does it compare/contrast to Fringe (which on the surface seems like a similar premise)?

1000x better

I think Late Night w/David Letterman from 82 to around 93 was innovative, fun, loose and just absolutely amazing and really enjoyable to watch. I think around the time he was passed over for the Tonight Show, to me, he seemed to become angry, bitter and spiteful and I just didn't think he was fun to watch any longer so he lost me in the 90's and this kept me from putting his show on my list.

Yes he seemed more bitter for a bit, but then I think he came back from his heart attack in the early 2000's he seemed a lot more humble. And I think he became a much better interviewer.

Looks like he’s playing a rotary telephone. True talent.

This show became annoying quickly.
The Friends were all caricatures. Ross was the nerd, Rachel was the spoiled princess, Chandler was the smart-*** (could he be any more sarcastic?), Joey was the dumb one, Phoebe was the weird one and Monica was the neurotic. They jumped the shark multiple times with the celebrity cameos (Selleck, Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt, etc).
The Chandler character became forced and the most annoying. If you hear Matthew Perry talk about his time on the show, he can't watch it because he sees his stages of addiction.

Uhh, Perry is dead. He was pretty messed up by the end of the show and looked terrible, presumably due to heavy substance abuse.

36 Battlestar Galactica 2004 - I tried three or four times to watch this streaming, but just could not get into it.
35 Monty Python’s - #30 on my list. I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK was some pretty funny **** back in the day.
34 Chapelle's Show - #52 on my list. I like to laugh. He makes me laugh.
33 Succession - I thought it was a good show, but it lost the magic after that surprising episode about the old guy on the plane.
32 Survivor - #16 on my list. This used to be a family staple for us, so there's some sentimental value here. But when this first came out, these people were more famous than astronauts. It's lost its way and I can't believe it's still on and people still watch it, but for the first ten to fifteen seasons, this was must watch TV around our house. I think it lost a lot of charm when they started casting the same type characters over and over again. Do we have an old funny guy with a country accent? Check. Hot blonde? Angry black lady? Awkward Chinese lady who can't seem to relate to her teammates? Obnoxious outspoken man who pisses everyone off? One gay young white male? Great, let's roll...
31 Chernobyl - This was good, I enjoyed it. Not top 100 for me though.
30 The Americans - I tried so many times to watch this and I made it maybe through 2 seasons before just pulling the plug. I don't know why it didn't connect with me.
29 Ted Lasso - #68 on my list. It lost its way for a bit, but finished strong and satisfying. In an era where most lead characters are snarky douchebags, this was a great change of pace and I wish there were more shows like it.
28 - Justified - I don't know how I didn't rank this. I thought I did, but it must've been a last minute bump.
27 - All in the Family - #10 on my list. Maybe he reminded me of my grandpa or something, but even as a kid, I loved this show.
26 -Stranger Things - We tried, but I don't think I was the target demographic for this show. My teens loved it though.
25 - Fargo - I didn't rank it because I've only recently started watching it. I loved the first season and currently watching the 2nd.
24 - Arrested Development - I wanted to like this show more than I did. Some stuff was funny, but I don't know, I never finished it.
23 - Lost #37 on my list. Groundbreaking for the way they created webpages for fictional companies like Oceanic Air. While it left a lot of questions unanswered, and I truly believe the writers were making this stuff up as they went and had no real plan for the most part, this show ultimately succeeded because of the incredible job they did developing all of the characters. 20 years later and I still have an emotional connection to the characters. Also, every time a plane flies low over my house, I scream in my head, "We have to go back, Kate!"
22 -Ozark - I couldn't get into it. I liked Ruth, but that was about it. I made it through maybe one and a half seasons and gave up.
21 -The X-Files - I think I was in law school when this came out and I didn't have time to be watching **** about aliens and whatnot. I've only seen maybe one episode.
20 - Late Night - #33 on my list. I prefer to pretend that angry, bitter, and unfunny Dave never existed and I just remembered the good years. I stayed up way too late on way too many school nights watching this show.
19 - Friends - #63 on my list. To me, this was a great show for the time period and we all kind of felt like these people were also our friends.

I'm aware of his passing. Prior to his death, Perry released a book about his life and spoke about his time on the show when doing interviews.
He was a limited participant in the Friends reunion on Netflix.

That's actually not how they do their casting anymore. They fired their original casting director after season 38. Now they cast people who Jeff Probst and the new casting director would like to be friends with IRL.

horrible omission on my list ...just totally blanked on it = I mean, it's definitely a top 20- easy for me
Well, you probably only cost it a top 15 ranking…GOOD JOB!

Friends hit at a time when I just didnt watch much television. My daughter started watching it years after it finished up so I started to catch it here and there. I haven't watched it from begining to end, but through the years ive watched countless episodes of it. The show has always been quite hilarious to me. Solid sitcom comedy.

I liked X Files. I remember a few episodes kinda scared me a bit. Then I just noticed by the dates I was actually in high school when it aired. Guess I wasn't as cool as I thought I was back then. Ha ha. Decent show though
