Some really good characters with Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) at the front of the line. Betty White in her best queen beyotch mode. And Lou Grant who got his own serious series.
Absolutely loaded cast. Silly this show barely cracked the top 100. Mary is awesome. Lou and Ted are two of the best supporting sitcom characters ever.
I thought this was gonna end up way higher. The behind-the-scenes folks were also a murderers row of TV HOFers.
what percentage of our rankers were alive when it aired?
I'm not holding birth certificates for y'all, but I'd guess 85 or 91.658%.

Looks like it ran '70-'77.

So if you were even alive when it aired, you're over 47 today.

If you actually watched it live and remember, you've got to be 55+?

And if you watched it from the start, as it aired, you're over 60.

I did not realize the average FBG was quite that old. I figured the average age was around 10-15 years above me, and has been since I joined the forum as a freshman in HS and everyone else was like young career, threads were heavily about dating, Arizona Ron insanity, Zow hijinks, etc. and I figured that was mostly late 20s early 30s.

I'll be 63 in a month. I'm probably one of the older folks here, but I'd guess most of the regulars are closer to my age than yours. I don't mean anything bad or good by that statement, just what I think is our demographic.

I watched the Investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. So there.

102 - The Expanse - never been the biggest sci-fi tv fan but Mrs. Punk loves it

101 - The Walking Dead - sure it got cringey the last couple of seasons but those first few seasons were fantastic for those that love this genre. Made my list based on the early season love.

100 - Psych - no idea how I have never heard of this show. I tried Monk and didn’t love it, so not sure if this one would be my jam either.

99 - The Daily Show - only considered one talk show and this wasn’t it.

98 - Flight of the Conchords - hilarious throughout and high on my list.

97 - The Mary Tyler Moore Show - definitely considered it but it being from an era before my time, it didn’t make the cut. Absolutely one of the best ensembles of all time.

Yeah there are and were a bunch of 60s and 70s shows on constant reruns throughout the last few decades .

118 - Mindhunter: I reallly liked this show, but it ended too soon for me to include it in my list.

117 - Schitt's Creek: We (wife and I) loved the first few seasons. For whatever reason, we lost interest somewhere around the apothecary and all the love stories.

116 - Family Ties: Ranked 45 on my list. I don't remember a whole lot of details about any plot lines, but the cast was great and this was much watch TV back in the day.

115 - ER: I don't think I've ever seen an episode. I'm not really into the hospital shows. And it seemed like the the promos were always promising a "very special" episode.

114 - Hannibal - Never seen it, not even sure when it came out or for how long it ran.

112 - How I Met Your Mother: I think I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't seen one episode. I'm not sure how that happened.
112 - Barry: I really enjoyed the show and it made my top 100 for me.

111 - Archer: Hilarious at first. Then it got a little repetitive. And then it got sidetracked with the special themed seasons. Obviously.

110 - The D.ck Van Dyke Show - Ranked 25 on my list. This was a staple of my childhood (syndication, I'm not that old) and it still holds up today.

109 - Top Chef: I didn't vote for any cooking shows, but it probably would've been Chopped if I did.

108 - NYPD Blue: I watched a few episodes, I thought it was just another version of Hill Street Blues and I didn't appreciate all "Next Week for the First Time In Television History - See a man's naked butt on broadcast TV!!!"

107 - Shogun: We enjoyed this a lot, but I don't know why, it just didn't break the top 100 for me.

106 - MST3000: This was fun for about 4 minutes. But I couldn't make it through an entire episode.

105 - Three's Company: Great cast, but too many zany hijinks and silly plot lines.

104 - Police Squad - Never saw this one at all, I don't think.

103 - Brady Bunch: Ranked 43 on my list. This was a staple of my childhood, lots of good morals being taught, lots of memorable episodes and it's one of those shows that I would watch any episode again for the 16th time and still enjoy it.

102 - The Expanse: Ranked 42 on my list. This one started out kind of slow for me and my dislike of the Iranian actress ambassador lady almost made me quit watching. But I really grew to like the characters and it was a pretty great show.

101 - The Walking Dead: Ranked 35 on my list. This one is weird because I didn't even finish the last 4 or 5 seasons, but the first 4 or 5 seasons were so good that I had to include it. Like the other guy said, I'm just going to pretend that it ended somewhere around season 5 and appreciate the good times. I did watch the Daryl Dixon in France series and I enjoyed that.

Some of my favorite all-time comedic characters - just an incredible cast that worked impeccably together.
Betty White and Gavin MacCleod. Oh, yeah. Plus all the rest. The funeral scene was an all-time great.
Was that the Chuckles the Clown funeral?
A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down the pants.

106 - MST3000: This was fun for about 4 minutes. But I couldn't make it through an entire episode.
You should know that these vary a lot depending on which person is stuck on the SOL and which movie they are watching. Even with commentary, I couldn't watch Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Psych is the perfect television show because it's mindless entertainment! The show never takes itself too seriously. The 2 main characters have such great chemistry and yes, lots of great 80' references and running gags. Now, I do like Monk too and had it ranked but these are not the same show. I am actually surprised it hit this high on the list because I figured I would be the high ranker at 17.

What a year 1975 was, so many greats born that year.

pretty sure we are the young ones on this site Instinctive with you being the youngest
It's just kinda weird. It means that, more or less, nobody born after the mid 90s has joined the site in the last 20 years.

Which surprises me. I found it as a 14 year old because I loved fantasy football. There are plenty of teenagers today who love fantasy football.

Just strikes me as odd. Or maybe SP is a younger demo? Idk. Then again, I've always had much older friends and colleagues and my favorite music is mostly from before my birth too so I've been an old guy for at least fifteen years, spiritually.

We also had reruns back in the day so that’s how some of us fogeys experienced some of these older shows. Not necessarily when things first came out.

Nick at Night ftw imo

I had no idea what others would do with this and figured I would be highest at 17. I could have put it higher as it is one of my most rewatched shows.

The banter is awesome and the references are crazy good.

I wondered if I would be the only ranker and wouldn't have been surprised if I was but very glad there are others that see the brilliance.

Psych is nothing like Monk as far as tone. Yes they both solve crimes with observation but the whole vibe is completely different. Psych is worth the look if someone hasn't seen it.

Barely, born in ‘76
Looks like it ran '70-'77.

So if you were even alive when it aired, you're over 47 today.

If you actually watched it live and remember, you've got to be 55+?

And if you watched it from the start, as it aired, you're over 60.

I was 6 years old when it ended but it ran in syndication in the late '70s and '80s and I remember seeing promos for it. So I could have watched it as a teen but didn't.

pretty sure we are the young ones on this site Instinctive with you being the youngest

I’m 42 and I’m on the young side here.

I saw a lot of the episodes in first run, though probably not all. And, as you say, it was in syndication for years - so I'm guessing I've seen every episode in one way or another.

My memory is increasingly spotty these days, but it's in my mind that at one point in the '70s CBS' Saturday night lineup was All In The Family, M*A*S*H, MTM, Bob Newhart, and The Carol Burnette Show. I may be off, though I'm positive the last three were back-to-back-to-back. On Saturday night! And people would stay home, gather up, and watch these shows together.

Other than sports, I don't even know what network programming on Saturday nights consists of these days.

The networks ran their most popular shows on Friday and Saturday nights. I would guess this only changed when NBC made Thursdays a big deal in the '80s. Now of Friday or Saturday they run reruns or sports or F-tier shows that won't be around long.

This is the first show I've seen that I should have ranked but just forgot about it.

Was a huge part of growing up and holds up well still.

I sometimes break out my Marvin the Martian voice on occasion to annoy my wife.
