As I post this, it's 3pm ET, 90mins before kickoff and lockout. I'll be downloading this thread at this time to load your rosters into a datafile to be used by a webscript that I'll eventually post.

If you have already posted a roster, and wish to make an edit to it after this post, please make your edit AS A NEW POST and also indicate that it is an edit. A link to your original post would be nice as well.

Failure to do so may result in you getting stuck with your original roster. MAKE CHANGES AFTER THIS POST.

If you are making your first roster post, these instructions do not apply to you. I'll download your roster later.

God what a mess.  All the different formats people used to 'design' their rosters, abbreviations, commas, colons, etc. :wall: It'll take me a while to clean this up so it's in a useable format, but I'll post the URL when it's ready. The data has all been collected, so it's just a matter of getting it into the program. A little patience is requested. Donations in c-note denominations are welcome and can provide motivation for me to work faster. :D

Contest side talk here....

So which player did you start that not many others did? I'm thinking the winner is going to have some sort of performance from a player that not many people chose, ie. Ben Roethlisberger or Muhsin Muhammad or Willie Parker, Tatum Bell, etc.

On another note - MAJOR PROPS to RoarinSonoran and his time and effort to get all the data collected and put into a URL for all of us to watch.

I went with Kyle Brady @ TE because I don't see anyone from the given TE pool scoring many points and expected all other Jag's to also be rather worthless, making it a throw-away position to fulfill my lineup obligations. Other than that, I stuck with top studs.

Yes, it is always good to give the format you want the names in so you can do a lot of cutting and pasting. I am not a saavy as you and usually did this in an excel spreadsheet. You learn quick when you have to edit all of the data.Maybe for next year, have everyone list the position by first name and then last name. No team names need to be next to it. Also, have people cut and paste the roster format, so it is consistent. Will make life easier for importing the data.

Thanks for doing this contest! Props to RoarinSonoran and Wheelhouse!

What he said.No way I'd do the weekly challenge without having a majority of people follow a specific format.

Agreed -- I threw in TJ Houshmanzadeh for that very reason.

I'm probably the only one who bypassed the big 3 and took the Indy D.

And I am sure there weren't too many teams with Ben Watson either, maybe makes up for my Santana Moss pick (at least he is still going I guess). LOL.

No, I'd make sure I had the front end webpage ready, consisting of pulldown menus of all the players. :D I just waited too long and there were already 100 rosters posted in the thread. :shrug:That said, y'all can take a look at the leaderboard (scores to come soon) and your rosters here. Please let me know if I screwed up during the data cleansing (with the Smith triplets -- Steve, Rod, Jimmy -- I wouldn't be surprised if I got the wrong one in there :loco: ).

I very nearly snagged Housh instead of C Johnson, but just couldn't do it.. :wall: On a lighter note, I'm doing so-so, so far. Brady did well for me. Bryant got a whopping 4 points for me, and is out, but hey, thankfully he was my kicker out and not a QB or something. Portis did so-so for me. J Smith sucked though.

I was scoring in pieces, Ds, Ks, then the rest. Should be complete through the first three games now. Will add PIT/CIN later. Time for a break.

Eh, having subsisted mostly on a beer and popcorn today, I may have given him 50pts for all I know. :D

Thank you for your work! The Palmer injury hurt me, but I'm still looking pretty good so far with a 104 for the first weekend.

I know it's just the first round but I don't think I've ever been in first in a contest like this so.... :pickle:
How do you know this? Where's the list?Never mind.

I just looked this over and realized that I forgot my tiebreaker (I also realize that it will not matter.) Anyway, my tiebreaker is 34

I'm right behind you, so watch out! :D At second glance, I may already be out of it, as it looks like we have the same remaining players... it figures. :hot:

Any chance of adding 1,2,3, etc down the left side after the next update? If possible, I'd like to see what the best possible team would have been at the end of this thing. Thanks for running this.

Is there some kind of update provided after this weekend?I found the list. nevermind. thanks

I think your right but if nothing else hopefully Big Ben will keep us near the top since I don't think there were many out there with him.Even better...Pittsburgh and New England advancing  , let's go Tom and Ben :football:

The loss of Carson Palmer hurt - A LOT!!! Because the Bengals lost though, I still have a chance.

I need big things from Marvin Harrison, because many chose Edge or Peyton (P-E-Y). :excited:

Updated Points Totals

Again - Huge thanks to RoarinSonoran!

With the NE loss it's now official :football:

Mapmaker = toast :bag:

Thanks Wheels & RoarinSonoran
 still in third and the guys in front of ya all have Brady, only one has Rod Smith like you and the other two have Plummer/MAnderson  sucks my Bronco is Jason Elam :bag:

26 points out of first....WITH BOTH QBS STILL PLAYING  Manning and Hasselbeck  The highest ranked team with both QBs .....lets hope its an INDY vs HAWKS superbowl.
