Theismann lays down the hammer on Quinn...and Green says it like it is (1 Viewer)

Theismann says Quinn wasn't professional at the Draft

I cut Quinn some slack. My God, he was sitting there with microphones in his face for 3 plus hours till Goodell sent him to his office. I thought he handled himself well and I also think he is going to make a lot of team pay for passing on him as others have done before him....lot of motivation for that kid. And Theismann has been so awful and unprofessional in the booth for years...what gives him the right to chastise Quinn on his day of glory. Getting kicked out of MNF after 1 season JT...even Dennis Miller lasted 2 seasons IIRC.

And now to Trent Green. He basically says that he will be a Dolphin this season. IMO he probably already knows the offense or understands the playbook. He has been a stand up guy in KC, the organization doesn't owe him anything but he isn't in their plans so they should break it off on good terms and just take the 6th round pick for him. Pride is getting in the way IMO. They threw out there he was worth a 2nd and a 7th...now to settle for a 6th makes them look bad. This could drag on all summer. I found this article interesting.

What I want to know is what does this mean for Culpepper? He has to know Green is coming...is he going to be cut? lemon? Could they go with Green at 1, Culpepper at 2, Beck at 3? If Culpepper is cut on or after June 1st where would he likely sign? WHat would be his worth assuming what he says is true and he can play later this season and be healthy for next year. He just turned 30 IIRC.

My crystal ball tells me Culpepper will be all but worthless fantasywise this year. He's not healthy enough to play and even if he could be soon I doubt he'd be anywhere near 100%. His release seems almost imminent to me and has been coming down the pike for weeks.

Once that happens, I don't see anywhere he could go and be a starter this year. Who really needs someone at this point?

IMO the team with one of the weakest QB situations is Minnesota but there's no way he'll go there. KC could be an option but why wouldn't they just trade Green for Culpepper? Maybe Green Bay? Those are the only three teams I see as remotely being a potential landing spot for a QB.

His best bet may be to hold tight and hope someone gets hurt and hopefully he'll be healed and able to jump right in.

I would say that Theismann has a stick up his ###, but it's probably just a shard of bone.

i'm trying to think of someone whose opinion matters less to me than Joe Theisman's. will post when i think of it.......

Theismann, like Quinn a former Notre Dame quarterback, hammered Quinn for chewing gum while walking on stage after being drafted by the Browns about 4 1/2 hours after the draft began - more than two hours after Quinn expected to be drafted. Theismann said Quinn's hair had a just-showered look, and he said it looked as though Quinn never attempted to tie a tie before last Saturday. "That is not a professional image," Theismann scolded.
The word "genius" isn't applicable in football. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.

Aside from making Miami look like an even bigger joke when it comes to trading for / signing QBs, that trade makes sense. Lemon for Green would be alright too. Let CPep sit on the bench and fight Beck next year.
