There is ZERO chance Lebron James returns to Cleveland (1 Viewer)

Cleveland has had alot of time to surround Lebron James with talent. But so far, they have failed to do so. I've never heard Lebron complain ONE TIME..but he'll show his displeasure by booking the first flight out of town.

This has nothing to do with the city of Cleveland, the fans, or Lebron's "desire" to play in a big town. It has to do with Cleveland never surrounding him with good players.

Mo Williams is an average point guard. He doesn't count. Shaq was their big off-season move last year. Really? Shaq? He's a shell of his former self. Heck, the best player Cleveland has is Varejao and he is extremely limited.

I hate when people try to compare Jordan's surrounding cast with Lebron James.

When Jordan retired to play baseball, the Bulls went 55-27 and lost in 7 grueling games to the Knicks. They were a very, very good team and he had one of the most underrated players of his generation, Scottie Pippen.

Lebron will leave town and will head to a team with a much better roster than he had in Cleveland. He is so good and so dominant, that I predict that his team could easily win 70+ games on a yearly basis.

Cleveland absolutely blew their chance at basketball immortality by failing to ever surround Lebron with talent.

Their ONLY chance to keep Lebron is if they can also convince a few other players to come to Cleveland and finally get some talent around James.

But I don't think that will happen. He's gone. Hope you enjoyed him while you had him Cavs..

Don't act like your organization has done enough. If you Cleveland fans are smart, you'll absolutely demand that the Cavs not only re-sign Lebron, but sign 1 or 2 of the other top free agents in this summer bonanza coming up. Every Cavs season ticket holder should call and say that they will cancel their season tickets if Lebron leaves. EVERY ONE. But that won't happen. The fans will optimistically "believe in Lebron" and think they he would never "betray them". Then he'll skip town and you'll be left with a garbage franchise with zero future.

Get down off that roof or I will gouge your left eye out. I will stab you with forks until you bleed.

Rose - JamesNoahDeng - GibsonSay hello to the next Bulls dynasty.
Very, very possible. That would be unstoppable. I always wonder what type of player would fit Lebron best. A point guard like Rose? I think Lebron would be best served playing with Dwayne Wade. I guess the real question is if in an ideal scenario, do you want Lebron to be the primary ball handler or do you want him playing SF.

I think a Rose/James backcourt would be borderline unstoppable. If teams double James on the wing, Rose is going to be able to get to the rim anytime he wants. If they collapse the paint to stop him, he can kick out to LeBron/Deng all day long.If LeBron develops his back to the basket game like Jordan did and Rose develops or more consistent outside shot, the rest of the NBA can just about take a nap for the next 6 years or so.

Avery Johnson is saying the Nets can sign two max players this summer to go with Harris, Lopez, and the #1/#2 pick in the draft. He thinks the Nets are LeBron's best chance to win a title next year. Can the Nets sign two max players?

Second, can the Thunder do anything to add LeBron or is their any other team that didn't clear a ton of space that has a chance?

LeBron could stay but if he wants to win a title first and foremost, he needs to give serious consideration to all these teams and their situations.

The problems on that team would be the lack of an 3 point threat and the lack of a post scorer. Rose is often near automatic from 15-18 feet now. Deng has a similar jumper with good ability shooting the 3 in the corner and only the corner. Gibson is a good spot up shooter to about 15. Gibson and Noah have developing low post games but will never be feared. I think James in Chicago, he must develop his post game like you said. If he does that, he could put that team on top of the league.

I don't think they have enough room. They'll have 22 already committed and will have some committed for salary cap purposes. All that are saying that Bulls team is impossible need to look again. Deng is the only partially reliable shooter on that team...granted he'd probably get moved for a more conventional 2G, but the point still stands with only 1 real shooter on the court, 2 scorers, and 2 big man cleaning up.

As a Knicks fan, part of me desperately wants Lebron to come to NY. The other part of me just doesnt give a damn - basketball has left a bad taste in everyone's mouth here.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't think Lebron makes as great a fit in CHI as others.

Obviously, that would be a very good team and having Lebron/Rose/Noah would be great.

A couple issues with the scenario though:

1-I makes sense for Lebron to be on a team with great shooters. Bulls could acquire that, but they certainly don't have it right now. Hinrich would be a nice fit and Deng has a nice mid-range game, but I'm not sure who would be knocking down the 3-point opps that Lebron would create.

2-Lebron and Rose would seem like 2 dominant late-game options and obviously, they'd be effective, but it'd be nice if one of the closers on the team could hit FT's at an 80% clip.

3-In general, I just don't see Lebron and Rose as a great fit. I think there's a reason you never see any of the great wing players (like MJ, Kobe, Wade, or Lebron) playing with elite PGs. A great PG needs the ball in his hands and a great wing player will take it out of their hands. I don't think it makes sense for the 2nd best player on Lebron's team to be a PG. Lebron and Rose would cancel each other out more than they'd complement each other, imo.

4-I love Noah as a fit with Lebron, but a big that can score a little would be nice. Bulls don't have that.

5-Nothing to do with basketball, but I still just can't see Lebron being in a hurry to be in Jordan's shadow (any more than any great player already is).

Like pretty much any team that got Lebron, the Bulls would be really good with him. I don't think it's a perfect fit though.

The knicks can sign 3. Why wouldnt he go there

If the nets were going to Brooklyn next year, i'd consider it a lock (if they get Wall or possibly Turner).

But i'm not sure LeBron wants to play in Newark for 2 years.

I also think the example of Kevin Garnett coming to Boston and winning a ring in his first year is highly unusual. It took Shaq 4 years after coming to the Lakers to win. Usually a it takes more than one year for a team to gel. If LeBron does leave, he should realize that no matter where he goes he's likely not going to get a ring right away.

was shocked to see Durants twitter last night saying he would rather lebron NOT sign with OKC since KD wanted it to be "his teem"

Typical young NBA star. Yet there are some here (I won't say who, rhymes with stoops) who believe that the Lakers would be a better team, this year, if they had Durant instead of Kobe.

i think if there is anything that lebron has learned after this playoff run is that coaching and front office matters. in both cases, new jersey is a big question mark at the moment.

Could happen. There's a big question that needs to be answered first: will the Nets get that #1 pick in the draft? If John Wall is coming to New Jersey, then I think the odds go up.
The thing is, with Devin Harris already on the team, is John Wall THAT much of a better fit than Turner?? You have to figure they're getting one of those two guys. I suppose the main draw of Wall is that Harris can then be traded to get another piece down low or another wing-mate. But,HarrisTurnerLebronJAG who boards and plays dLopezis a formidable top 5. Probably favorites in the East.

Really? Really??? LeBron is the problem. NOT the city of Cleveland. How can you say he isn't surrounded by a solid cast of players. This is the most ignorant statement people are making. Earth to everybody:THE CAVS HAD THE BEST REGULAR SEASON RECORD THAT LAST 2 SEASONS!!!You do not get that accomplishment by having a sub par supporting cast. The Cavs lost because:1. their coach sucks2. LeBron gave up in game 5 and pouted. He didn't try at all. Maybe I am wrong, but it seemed like he didn't give a crap. He would just jog around, take half assed shots and not even hustle. He did better in game 6, but it was too late.3. LeBron cares more about his "legacy" and "brand" than winning championships, and that rubs me the wrong way. He was "annointed" the "King" is such bullcrap, it makes me sick. HE HAS DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE THAT TITTLE! The NBA and media suck this guys dong and he hasn't done squat. He isn't a pimple on Michael Jordon's butt. At least he shook the hands of the Celtic players this year, unlike last year with the Magic. The fans of Cleveland aren't spoiled, Lebron James is spoiled. He has been spoiled ever since he walked into the league, by the media and the NBA and now it is catching up to him.Why should he care? He has millions of dollars and he didn't even need to play one game? All sports pay the young guys, who haven't accomplished crap, way too much money and it spoils them.

Chad Ford thinks the Bulls are going to offer Cleveland a sign and trade if LeBron wants to go to Chicago. The Bulls would send Deng and cap filler to Cleveland for LeBron, allowing them to retain the cap space to go after another max-contract player (Wade? Bosh?)

Rose - Wade - Noah - James - Gibson

Rose - Hinrich - Noah - James - Bosh

NJN will also have the cap room to sign a second max player if they want. The bench will have to be mostly minimum guys to fill out the roster, but bench players are easier to find than starters. If NJN draws #1 or #2 in the lottery, they will draft perimeter. Awesome stuff. Ferris' basketball pants are going crazy right now. :toilet:

Was unaware they had the cap room for a second max guy. If you're Lebron, how do you turn down that first line-up??? Win a title for your boy Jay-Z's team, roll into Brooklyn in a couple years into the 'House that Lebron Built.' Plus, that team is young enough that it could easily turn into a dynasty.

Playing in Newark for two years is gotta be the pits.

I'm almost certain this will happen. These guys are young enough for the Bulls to be dominant for a long time. It just makes too much sense. Personally I think it's a better fit than a DWade/Lebron or Lebron/Bosh and nobody squad. That being said, the 5M exception guys would be all over following those pairings.

I don't think they'll be able to. They have 22 million committed when Humphries picks up his option. Then they have cap space holders for their draft pick and min guys for 15 roster spaces. That would put them around 27-8 million at a minimum. Cap is 54 million or so which would leave them 26 million or so. Which is one max guy and another. Only two teams that can sign 2 max guys are Miami and Knicks and even the Knicks are right on the edge.Link
