Cleveland has had alot of time to surround Lebron James with talent. But so far, they have failed to do so. I've never heard Lebron complain ONE TIME..but he'll show his displeasure by booking the first flight out of town.
This has nothing to do with the city of Cleveland, the fans, or Lebron's "desire" to play in a big town. It has to do with Cleveland never surrounding him with good players.
Mo Williams is an average point guard. He doesn't count. Shaq was their big off-season move last year. Really? Shaq? He's a shell of his former self. Heck, the best player Cleveland has is Varejao and he is extremely limited.
I hate when people try to compare Jordan's surrounding cast with Lebron James.
When Jordan retired to play baseball, the Bulls went 55-27 and lost in 7 grueling games to the Knicks. They were a very, very good team and he had one of the most underrated players of his generation, Scottie Pippen.
Lebron will leave town and will head to a team with a much better roster than he had in Cleveland. He is so good and so dominant, that I predict that his team could easily win 70+ games on a yearly basis.
Cleveland absolutely blew their chance at basketball immortality by failing to ever surround Lebron with talent.
Their ONLY chance to keep Lebron is if they can also convince a few other players to come to Cleveland and finally get some talent around James.
But I don't think that will happen. He's gone. Hope you enjoyed him while you had him Cavs..
