There is ZERO chance Lebron James returns to Cleveland (1 Viewer)

even if lebron does stay, what are their chances at winning a championship? let's assume that mike brown is fired and they add someone reasonably effective as a head coach.
depending on the coach (needs to be a real leader like Phil Jackson and not a snakeoil salesman like Calipari) and offseason moves, pretty good.
not going to happen. you're kind of stuck with non-HOF coaches to choose from.
Not that I think Phil is coming to Cleveland, but isn't there substance to Buss possibly not wanting to pay Phil upwards of $12M?
not when he's sleeping with your daughter! i think phil retires because he's got another championship, he's older and the grind of coaching yet another season is too much.

yeah...I was more trying to say you need a coach of some stature who knows what they're doing.
and i'm saying that there are no sure-fire coaches that fit this description. byron scott? avery? fratello? dunleavy? there are a bunch of re-treads out there. some are better than others but they're still all re-treads. their best bet is to hire some emerging, respected assistant. tim thibodeaux, asst coach for the C's, is someone that everyone gushes over. he's defensive minded though.

Could they possibly coax Larry Brown to Cleveland???? That's really the only one I can think of.

What about Jeff VanGundy? Not a HOF coach yet, but he might be able to get it done. I don't know if he's too attached to the booth to leave it.

everything i had read or heard gave me the impression that he's not interested in leaving broadcasting. he's not even listening to offers right now.

Team N: Hey Jeff, you want to coach LeBron, maybe win a championship or three? Pick up $7 million a year or so?VanGundy: Nah, I'd rather listen to Mark Jackson try to convince me that Mike Brown should have won coach of the year and shout "mama there goes that man" every night.

Cleveland has had alot of time to surround Lebron James with talent. But so far, they have failed to do so. I've never heard Lebron complain ONE TIME..but he'll show his displeasure by booking the first flight out of town. This has nothing to do with the city of Cleveland, the fans, or Lebron's "desire" to play in a big town. It has to do with Cleveland never surrounding him with good players.Mo Williams is an average point guard. He doesn't count. Shaq was their big off-season move last year. Really? Shaq? He's a shell of his former self. Heck, the best player Cleveland has is Varejao and he is extremely limited.I hate when people try to compare Jordan's surrounding cast with Lebron James. When Jordan retired to play baseball, the Bulls went 55-27 and lost in 7 grueling games to the Knicks. They were a very, very good team and he had one of the most underrated players of his generation, Scottie Pippen.Lebron will leave town and will head to a team with a much better roster than he had in Cleveland. He is so good and so dominant, that I predict that his team could easily win 70+ games on a yearly basis. Cleveland absolutely blew their chance at basketball immortality by failing to ever surround Lebron with talent.Their ONLY chance to keep Lebron is if they can also convince a few other players to come to Cleveland and finally get some talent around James. But I don't think that will happen. He's gone. Hope you enjoyed him while you had him Cavs..
You forgot to mention that Jamison clown. What a POS. Why is he even playing basketball. He totally sucks. I don't tend to watch NBA basketball becasue ever since the mid 80's when they knew how to play, it has fallen on garbage street ball. Put a team together that can play fundamental basketball and you win every year. These clowns turn the ball over with such ridiculously bad passes, it's embarrassing to watch.Had to pull up some Youtube videos of Dr. J, Bird and Magic to see what basketball looked like before it fell apart into the crap it is now.
