Things you've learned to appreciate as you're getting older. (1 Viewer)

I will throw in having good neighbors in the mix here.Nothing worse having bad ones live near you but having good ones that actually care and become good friends can be hard to find.

Should also add that a good bottle of wine has now crept into the mix for me as well.Really didn't care for it when I was younger but have learned to actually enjoy drinking it from time to time now.

A long bike ride is something I have been doing a few times a week now and love it,especially with the changing colors that fall brings this time of year.Actually had to stop yesterday evening while some geese crossed the road in a subdivision I was riding in near this beautiful pond.I had gotten away from stuff like this and now find it very enjoyable.

My wife and two daughters. They are such good people and so much fun to be around that I take it for granted that everybody is that way. Listening to my friends ##### I know that is not the case.

My lawn. Now get off it!

Seriously, though - when I was younger I didn't care what it looked like as long as it wasn't a foot tall. Now I take a bit of pride in it.

TLDR: Fixing stuff.
I've gotten more into fixing stuff also. It's probably one of the best things about youtube IMO. Things I would NEVER have thought about trying 10 years ago... now I'm doing regularly. Washing machine breaks? fixed. Fridge? fixed. Air filters on my car.. done. Fan switch on car... done.

There's not much that can break that hasn't broken on someone else.. and GB the people that actually feel compelled to video it and post it. I'm such a taker and never a contributor when it comes to things like online reviews, youtube repairs, etc.

Time with friends
This is probably #1

I don't get to see them as often as I did... I took for granted all the time I got to spend with them years back. Now... not as much. That part of having your own family and your friends having their own family sucks.

We'd all appreciate a "how to properly brush" video...preferably with a big knockered girl doing the brushing with her boobies moving around when she's brushing.

Google search: Raquel brushing her teeth and then lotions her breasts. Her technique is above average.

Fapulous

My parents......were right about so many things. Just so many.

Once you have your own kids things come full circle and into complete perspective.

I love being a father. It's the greatest part of my life. The second is being a great husband to my incredible wife of 16 years. And the third is I have always been true to myself and appreciate that more and more each and every day.

Several good answers. 2 things that hit me recently?

1. Quality shoes

2. Wool friggin socks. I can't recommend these enough especially this time of year. I'm replacing out all my no-shows of yesteryear with full length and ankle-cut wools.

1. Quality shoes
I'll go one step farther. Quality everything that you use on a regular basis. My new mantra is that if I'm not willing to spend what it takes to get something nice enough to do the job well for a long time, I don't actually really need that thing. There are some exceptions, but it's generally worked well for me.

Also learning to properly use and maintain those things.

I've never really cared a lot about shoes. But after reading the words of wisdom of many in this thread (and other threads), I am seriously going to reconsider good shoes. I need better comfort for my feet/legs/back.

I learned from a young age to maintain my equipment daily.

A good pair of house shoes.

A fire in the fireplace.

My newspaper.

My wife who is 11 years younger than me and still has a nice flat stomach after spitting out three kids.

I don't know if there is a bad technique for lotioning breasts.

The Philadelphia Eagles too?
I commend you on your memory. I am impressed.

However, if you imply I like the eagles again, I will no longer invite you to poker games.

(btw, I have one coming up in two weeks if you want to drive up from Florida)

Thanks for the invite but family is coming to Florida this year for Thanksgiving.

(But yeah, both our teams suck so neither of us really can talk much smack.)
