THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG! - Music Draft - Saturday Night's Alright for iFighting (1 Viewer)

Oh, what the hell.......

Shut the #### up.

I thought it was cool that we got new blood in this draft and some folks I really respect backed you. You absolutely suck and have drained pretty much every ounce of fun from this this thread. You are a pedantic blowhard and I hope never to run across your miserable ### again.

Just in case none of the above is clear - #### you.

I guess this means you have changed your mind about having me over for Thanksgiving.

You more or less called me out, so you shouldn't have been surprised that I responded (and then had a hissy fit over it too). As Harry Truman said, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

Yes played arenas in the early 70s when that was kind of the pinnacle for Rock venues.  Stadium shows were still very rare and the devil hadn't created sheds yet.
In 1972-ish, Yes sold out Madison Square Garden with zero advertising. Back then, you had to go to the venue box office to buy tickets. Their show was listed at the box office, but not promoted in any other way (radio, newspapers, fliers, etc). People noticed it was on the list, bought tickets, notified their friends, and soon enough, it was sold out. That's how big they were in their heyday.

I didn't "more or less" call you out. I absolutely did, and with malice aforethought. There's no misunderstanding here that I will claim.

Are we clear?

i don't know how that applies, but it convinced me to stick to the original plan. so no cheating, but I'll link to the song that fit my playlist when someone finally takes Xxx Xxxxxx.
lol.

alfafa oh rasputin... spotify is weird.

I'm loving that it just threw this Bob Destiny tune into my Discover Weekly playlist. Honestly- never heard of the guy and no idea why that would get triggered for me... but I love it.

Oh, OK.

Actually, I also thought you may have been trying to be funny and I was responding in kind (hence the  :hophead: emoji) but it appears you that have no sense of humor.

Digging my top five so fat:

Pink Floyd - Dogs

Talking Heads - Girlfriend is Better

Rage Against the Machine - Know Your Enemy

Yes - Long Distance Runaround

Green Day - Longview

Round 4

A Song For You - Leon Russell

Leon was a session man on a few Stones recordings and while the song "Shine A Light" is credited to Jagger/Richards the song was mostly a Jagger/Leon Russell composition.

@landrys hat

OK, we'll assume NV and Chaos weren't taking Leon Russell (I don't see any way they were!).  But please @landrys hat, don't pick until NV has his 30 minutes and Chaos gets his chance.

🎶 As I walk through
This wicked world
Searchin' for light in the darkness of insanity
I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?

And each time I feel like this inside
There's one thing I wanna know:
What's so funny 'bout peace love and understanding? Ohhhh
What's so funny 'bout peace love and understanding? 🎶

(For the record, I’m using the Elvis Costello version, who has already been chosen.)

Round 5:

Daryl Hall and John Oates -- She's Gone

There are a lot of great H&O songs, especially pre-1984, and it's a cliche to pick the one that was on the RS 500 list, but I can't justify anything else above it. Full writeup later.
