This is what the Pats are doing... (1 Viewer)

Bilechick is beating teams before the game even starts. This doesn't have to do with embarassing teams for that sole purpose, it's embarassing teams to make the rest of the league believe the Pats are unbeatable. This is professional football...It's about winning, its their job. There isn't a team out there, including the Colts, who truly believe that they can beat the Patriots, and they will go into the game with those doubts. The Pats are obviosly trying to intimidate the rest of the league, and its working, and it proves Bilechick genius even farther. He will take the insults for running up the score for the sake of winning. It's not bad sportsmanship, in my opinion it is the example of sportsmanship, WINNING within the rules using both physical tools and psychological tactics i.e. running the score up to scare the other teams.

I disagree. BB is simply playing the physiology of his team. Right now he has a team with a chip on it's shoulder and playing with an enormous edge. I think he is just afraid that the moment he lets off the gas, some of that edge begins to dwindle. BB is instilling an attitude in his team. An attitude that we play 60 minutes and FINISH games. We don't look up at the score board. We don't listen to outsiders. We only care about the 53 men in this room. All of the people out there crying about this, that and the other thing are really just jealous and need to get a clue about what coaching is about.

So you are a genius by leaving players in blow out wins increasing the likelyhood of big injuries to big time players?

How unstoppable are the Patriots without Brady?

If you're going to keep copying and re-posting this same comment, could you at least use the correct word. Unless you literally think Belichick is teaching his players how to understand the way various biological organs function in different organisms (physiology), I think the word you are looking for is psychology.

Are the Pats beating teams by alot? I IIII didnt know that
Don't you feel totally intimidated? Your team is the defending champion, but they're about to play a bunch of jerks who wouldn't know sportsmanship if the ghost of Johnny Unitas haunted them the rest of their days. Scared? :football: I hope your regular old coach and your merely extremely talented team expose the "genius" and his all stars.

Brilliant!

Good call starting a new thread for this.
I'm not even going to bother reporting Pats threads any more. I can only assume FBG has officially turned into a Pats message board but I must have simply been left off the email list this time.
Whats funny is all the Patriot fans that have hopped on the bandwagon. Prior to 2000, I only knew 1 Patriot fan. I grew up with this guy and he was a huge pats fan originally from Boston. Not that this is anything new, but it's sickening.

Just wait until the Pats fans scurry back under their rocks again after they get blasted in Indy on Sunday... The Pats can run up the score against inferior talented teams all they want.... Aside from the Cowboys game thats exactly what they have done.... The Colts arent even acknowledging that they have scored so much and they are enjoying not given a chance... Looks like the trap is set.... 58,000 Colts fans and the Colts players are gonna let Brady know they are there.. We'll see.... Congrats Boston Redsox!!! but your Patriots still suck!!

The Pats have sold out every home game since 1994. Nice try, though.

It's not like selling out 60,000 to 70,000 seats in Boston when the Patriots are the one team in New England is a monumental accomplishment. I don't think that's responsive at all to the question of whether the Patriots have a bunch of bandwagon fans (which they do, and it's not the fault of the relatively honorable long time fans that this is the case).

Every team has bandwagon fans when they're doing well. My alma mater went to the Final Four and you couldn't swing a stick without hitting a politician or some other fraud wearing their gear. Nowadays, not so much. I know people who were openly rooting for the Rockies.Still, to suggest the Patriots didn't have a large volume of fans before February 2002 isn't close to accurate, either.
