This week's Eric Decker Sleeper Thread (1 Viewer)

I realize every week someone is calling some player out to be a sleeper play. But. . .

Denver plays Green Bay this week. The Green Bay offense is working on a level above 90% of the teams out there. Is there much doubt that Denver is going to fall way behind in this game, especially if they are without Champ Bailey?

Moreover, teams have been able to pass the ball against the Green Bay defense so far. After his breakout game, Decker was kept down last week against what is turning out to be a pretty good Titans pass defense. Now, after last week's subpar performance, it seems every service has soured on the guy. Which is human, but not very sharky.

Am I missing something? Does he not still have the talent he flashed two weeks ago? After being targeted 12 times last week, are his opportunities now going to drop?

I realize everyone in the NFL is aware of who Decker is now, but it seems that this would be a great week for him to be plugged into a fantasy lineup. I just dont see the Packers rushing the ball THAT much with Grant dinged. Unless Green hits the field, which is possible. . .

I could be way off, but it seems this is a week he should be ranked where he was ranked last week and last week was a week he should have been ranked where he is this week.

Thoughts?

I understand that there is an Eric Decker season thread. This is not that. This is meant to be specific to this week versus Green Bay's defense and relevant to the 50+ ranking in most sports services this week. Hence the question of whether he fits the sleeper tag for this week.I have contributed to that thread also.
I think it has to do with his 12 targets netting under 50 yards, and a lot tend to think that Green Bay has a dominant pass D. Decker was a monster in college and would have gone earlier had it not been for a foot injury. The guy is going to be very good. For what it's worth, i'm a life long packer fan and I'm starting Decker with confidence.

some people are getting down on this guy, but what they need to realize is that a young WR is going to have his ups and downs. Keep in mind this is his first year as a starter. While this is actually his second season, he is basically a rookie.to expect him to be consistent straight out of the gate is probably expecting a lot. he will have a couple weak games in the first half of the year, and will likely gain consistency in the second half of the year or sometime next season. for now I'd use him as a bye week back up or for spot starts against good matchups and give him more starts as he proves himself.
