Thomas Davis-LB- Panthers Jul. 26 - 12:02 pm et Panthers LB Thomas Davis has been moved from strongside to weakside. The move is designed to take advantage of Davis' speed in pursuit. Na'il Diggs and Landon Johnson will battle for the strongside spot. This is the second major position switch for the Panthers defense with the earlier move of Julius Peppers from left defensive end to the right side.Source: Charlotte Observer

Yeah, just when I've moved on from old flame, she walks by and teases me again.Obviously, it's a sizable bump for his IDP value. Puts him on the radar as an interesting LB3 prospect. The Panthers continually confuse me. I thought Davis had finally made big strides in coverage last year. Doesn't make much sense for the long term possibility of Beason moving outside or where Connor eventually slots there.

The sooner John Fox is gone from there the better...he continually confuses and baffles me with his moves and starting line up choices.

Safe to comment on this now :bye: Wow! This is big! I can see LB 3, I was looking for him to take a big step this year anyway.

Just walk away, man. She'll rip your heart out all over again.Or, as our FFA brothers would say, start hiding money.

This news is just what my dynasty team needed.

Since all the hype from when he was first drafted till now, I have held out hope. Don't fail me now baby.

Anyone else have him as a DB in a league that doesn't change players positions? It looks like he'll be very startable, as LB3 stats should compare with top 12ish DB stats. Or am I missing something?

Looking at last year in my league, the #24 LB scored 169.75, the #36 LB scored 152. Meanwhile, the #1 DB scored 171 and the #12 DB scored 144.25.

So yeah, I guess LB3 stats would be great.

Personally I see this as the move they should have made last year, you want your most athletic playmaker type guys in a position to make plays, 71 year old Diggs sure as hell isn't going to be making plays all over the field like Davis can. Smart move, just took them a while to see the light.

They have Landon Johnson too. Wonder who will play slb.

Johnson >>> Diggs in my opinion. Of course, I'm not the one who makes the decision. :confused:Maybe Conner plays SLB down the road. That's where I see him long-term. I think moving Davis is significant because I have to believe they would not do this as a short-term move. If that is the case, Beason is staying in the middle (where he belongs).
