Thoughts on the underperforming rookies... (1 Viewer)

What do you feel is the right approach to this years draft class that just doesn't seem like they can make a serious fantasy impact this year. Specifically Crabtree, Wells and Green?

Do you sell to highest bidder who is building for future to get a viable performer this year?

Hold out till they are finally worth something to either use or trade?

Thoughts?

EDITED: Dynasty league format starting 2rb 3wr and 1 rb/wr/te

totally depends on your team and goals. If you're a contender one or two players short and can get decent value, I'd trade Crabtree.

Crabtree- holdWells- sellGreen- buyplease see mine

Unless you're talking dynasty here.....(should clarify this)

I wouldn't necessarily say these guys are underperforming considering where you prob drafted them (or picked them up off waivers).

Crabtree prob got dropped by the original owner if even drafted at all, and just picked up. I wouldn't count on him.

Wells was drafted with expectation he wouldn't get much PT until late. Hold on to him.

Green was drafted real late if at all, with expectations he would need an injury to be able to contribute fantasy wise. Hold if you have space.

Don't think you get much for any of them in redraft.

I'm assuming you're talking dynasty. Mendenhall was a bum until two weeks ago and now look at him....sometimes you have to be patient but as one poster said it all depends on your team and whether you are playing for today or tomorrow.

Buy or hold the three you named.

Dynasty isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Why even draft these guys in the first place if you're going to panic and sell low after five games? The guys you mentioned have hardly played at all (and Crabtree hasn't even played a down). Give them a chance to prove themselves before you cut bait. I'm sure all the Rashard Mendenhall and Ray Rice owners would tell you the same thing.

If you can't wait or afford to sit on a rookie for a year or two then you might as well trade your rookie picks for vets.

Yep, picked him up off waivers last year. Patience man, patience.....

well i was trying to be vauge for discussion purposes.

my team in in signature.

i'm 1-4 right now.

so i can go either way, sell rookies for vets to help me win this year, or hold on and get younger.

i hate to lose, reason i don't weather so well in a dynasty league like this.

i'm in 1st place in all my single year leagues (all being 2 others).

so really just wanted to get an idea if wells and crab are worth the wait, or sell them to someone that thinks they are and get a player like portis or braylon (a player getting plenty of points now)
