time for keeper league lottery tickets? (1 Viewer)

with the bye weeks done, I'm so excited to finally cut all the crappy fillers I've been holding onto (looking at you r. jennings, m. vick, j. starks, and d. brown). correct me if i'm wrong, but i think most keeper leagues work the way mine does, where you can keep FA pickups for a pretty low price. what are some high upside guys out there who might pay off in a big way next year?

the two i was thinking so far are:

mark ingram: i know he's been bad, but the saints did invest a lot in him, and if builds on his recent okay performances, maybe he ends up being the lead rb next year?

julian edelman: new slot receiver for the pats? i haven't been keeping up, but the last i heard, it seemed like there was a decent chance wes welker wouldn't be on the pats next year.

Ingram shouldn't be a FA in a keeper league, but yeah, if he's available he's got potential to hold more value next year than he does this year. The only problem is that Pierre Thomas will still be around:

In 2013, Thomas’ base salary will be $2.1 million. He’ll also have a $300,000 roster bonus and a $100,000 workout bonus. His cap figure will be $2.5 million. In 2014, the base salary will be $2.5 million. Thomas has a $300,000 roster bonus and a $100,000 workout bonus. His cap figure will be $2.9 million. The deal also includes escalators in each of the final three years that could boost Thomas’ base salaries.
Chris Ivory is a restricted free agent next year, too.But I guess none of that matters if Ingram is getting 10-20 touches a game. Would be nice to see him get some goal line touchdowns to end the season.
