Timeout Rule - Am I Dumb? (Yes) (1 Viewer)

Ok, I've read the rules over twice now and googling isn't giving me a valid response.

Team A on offense makes a big play, but odds are it's getting overturned... The WR who caught it knows it wasnt a catch...

Instead of rushing to get another play off, can the offense not just call a timeout?

Does the timeout not count as a play, thus negating the chance for a review?

Again, sorry if this is stupid and easily explained, but I can't find it.

A timeout is not a play. Timeout gives other team more opportunities to challenge

Well, I know it's not technically a play... But can a team challenge after a timeout has been called by the other team?

I assume yes, but just wanna be 100%

Yes. You can throw the red flag up until the next snap is snapped, or kicked if a kickoff.

Right, it’s about the best snap, no matter how you want to define a “play”
