Charles Barkley, who questioned whether or not a jump-shooting team like Golden St. could win the title, is looking kind of smart right now.

The 04 Pistons were a jump shooting team, but they had a much better interior defense than the Warriors. Plus Wallace could play inside when he wanted too, he just choose to play more of a stretch 4.

Hawks haven't been very impressive since that long winning streak they had in the middle of the season.
They haven't looked the same but the first half today was taking it to another level. They looked clueless. I went out to cut the grass during the 2nd half and they were down like 5-6 with a couple minutes left. I just laughed when Pierce hit that shot - they (Hawks) didn't deserve to win, they were crap. They are almost being gifted the Conf. Finals with Wall's injury and they laid an egg. They have time to recover but they need to win game 4 because I don't see them wining 3 straight.

Golden state has that 2011 Bulls vibe to me right now. Young team, best record, MVP point guard. Just when the playoffs came, they didn't have that "second gear" to play up to.

Certainly the Grizzlies deserve credit for being able to disrupt the Warriors, but how many games are the Warriors really going to shoot 23% from 3 and 67% from the line? And despite how terribly the Warriors played, they were still a shot or 2 away from winning in that 4th quarter.

Yep. Curry is 4/21 the past two games. I like to say Memphis D is the main culprit but Curry missed a lot of shots that are wide open for him.

This is the first time Kerr has been faced with a difficult situation. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts. They'll have to do something to help get Curry going.

Marc Gasol is the most boring player ever.

Of all the rule changes the NBA should be considering, clamping down on backing players down should be the top of the list. It is technically illegal and it makes the game look like crap.

They have a 5 second back to the basket rule and totally disagree about Gasol being boring. He passes so well.

Marc Gasol is the most skilled big man in the league: footwork, soft touch around the hoop, outside shooting ability, excellent free throw shooter.

Is it as fun to watch as Steph Curry pulling up on the break for a 26-foot swish? Maybe not.

But he is NOT boring.

Spoken like a pipe cleaner who couldn't hold his ground down there.

I'm drunk. Are the refs d

Fuuuuuucking the Dubs on calls?
No Memphis is just out playing them.
I really wish people would stop talking about officiating in here.

There are no conspiracies. If the refs suck, they will suck for both teams.

These games are NEVER decided by the officials.

Just talk about the players and coaches.

Thanks in advance.
While I don't think it's common, there are noted and well documented instances in which the refs have been favorable or unfavorable to certain teams. Hell, you yourself even cited a podcast with haralabob where he talks about how he's found biases in refs. Pretty extreme of you to say the games are never (in all caps) decided by refs. But then again, you're an extreme guy, so I guess it fits with the character.

@geoff_calkins: Warriors "just missing shots" vs. Griz is like Peyton "just missing passes" vs. Seahawks or Manny "just missing punches" vs. Mayweather.

How many times are the Bulls going to run it into the front court hand it to Noah and watch Noah and either Hinrich or Dunleavy be the only 2 people to touch the ball the rest of the possession?

Except they are actually missing a ton of wide open shots.

Warriors shot 39.8% from 3 for the season #1 in the league. Grizzlies allowed opponents to shoot 35.1% from 3 point land, which is pretty much the league average.

For the season versus the Grizz the Dubs have shot: 29%, 51%, 54% from 3.

Granted the playoffs are a different beast, but Curry is shooting the same shots he normally gets. Curry is a career 44% shooter from 3. He's shooting 25% the past two games. That's a huge gap. The Grizzlies get some credit, but not all of it.

How do you call the sam inbounds play 3x in a row? The 2 and 2 alignment totally negates the spacing advantage the offense has in usung the back court.
